Dear Joy, it is with deepest sympathy that I send you this note. Though I did not know either you or Gene, My Father thought the world of Gene in the Scouting at Second Ponce de Leon, and of course I have known and kept up with Dick all our lives since our North Fulton days. Know God is with you and will aid you, as he did when I
lost my Husband.
Love, Martha Shivers Albertson

It is with deepest sympathy that I send my condolences. It is often difficult to find the right words to say, but I do hope that it gives you comfort in knowing that God is near to all those calling upon his name in truth; and he is always ready to show his strength on behalf of those whose heart is complete toward him. (Psalm 145:18; 2 Chron. 16:9)

My Dearest Joy. Knowing you and Gene 46 years has been a great pleasure in my life. I will miss Gene so very much but knowing he and mt Dad are together
now gives me a heart warming feeling, they are at peace. I love you Joy!!

Dear Joy,
Please accept my deepest condolences upon Gene's death. His obituary was replete with things I knew about Gene and others I did not; very impressive indeed.
While we missed you both after you moved to Big Canoe,I was pleased to learn that you enjoyed living there as it is such a lovely place. I learned so much from Gene about gardening in general, and about growing vegetables and dahlias in particular. I was wonderful to see his magnificent dahlias waving in the breeze for several months during the year. Then there were is wonerful stories of growing up in Buckhead, and later being dubbed a member of the "Buckhead Boys", all a part of Atlanta history I could not have gotten elsewhere.
My hpe for you is that the pain you now feel will soon be replaced with beautiful memories of your many years together.
Fondly, Marc Peterzell
