It was the thoughtfulness of a teacher that changed the life of Norman Harbaugh Sr. He went on to earn degrees from Columbia, Stanford and Harvard universities, but he rarely made that known. He also directed the graduate business administration program at Georgia State University for several years, his son said. Read the news obituary.

Dr.Harbaugh was kind, caring and thoughtful. I have fond memories of him and his encouragement during difficult times. Even though he is mourned, I am sure he would say that this is not the end but rather a new beginning. He will be missed by everyone! I was saddened when I read this just this morning and am very sorry for your loss. Have a Blessed Day!!

Dear Mrs. Harbaugh and Family,
There are no words to convey the depth of your loss. Heaven has gained a bright new star and we have all lost a special husband, father, friend.
The ship reunions will no longer be the same without Norm "holding court."
Thoughts and prayers always.

I was a student of Dr. Harbaugh's in the early eighties. His was my favorite class, and he is one of my favorite teachers. He had that unique blend of being a great teacher and a great human being. I will always remember him. May God bless and keep you in peace at this time of loss.

Mr. Harbaugh was a very special person. I got to know him at Mountain Park First Baptist where he volunteered to help with the BAG ministry. He tirelessly visited in the community taking gift bags to people that needed to hear the gospel. He was an inspiration! I had no idea he had all these credentials at the time. He was a humble, dedicated worker for the Kingdom of God! I think that is what he would want to be remembered for the most! Deepest sympathy to the Harbaugh family.

To the Harbaugh Family,
Please accept my condolences on the loss of Dr. Harbaugh. I met him when he was initiated into the Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity at GSU. I was a volunteer national Board member and was thrilled when he agreed to serve as Advisor to the GSU Chapter. He served in that capacity faithfully and professionally for many years. He was soft spoken, but his words were powerful and his intentions always were rooted in kindness. Myself and many others are blessed to have know him.

just saw this on the internet-- Dr Harbaugh was the best professor at Georgia State in 1965--1975. I inducted Dr Harbaugh into my fraternity Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity. He was an excellent professor , which I truly learned. He touched many lives, which am so thankful my path crossed his. May the scriptures give you Peace and Comfort--John 14:1--6

To the family members of Mr. Norman Harbough Sr., please accept my deepest sympathy. I will sincerely miss talking and meeting with Norman at our nursing Board of Visitors meetings. I will also miss the phone calls he would make just to talk and give me his thoughts on any issues that would come up. I will miss hearing his wisdom, which was always blended with humor and kindness. He was such a thoughtful and kind man. May he rest in peace.

I didn't know all these things written about him. It makes my memories even more special as he always seemed like a "regular fellow" who was always interested in how I and my family were doing and always treated me like I was very special. I know Sally will miss him very much! They are both very special to me!

Sally and Chip, What a loss! Norman was such an inspiration to all who knew him! He will be missed tremendously. I'm so glad I got to see you, Sally, at the luncheon for Vivian at Jean's. You are a great inspiration to me, also, and always have been. I do miss our long discussions about whatever is happening in our world. You'll be in my prayers for a long time, and hope that we'll be getting together again soon. God's blessings on you and yours. Helen and Charles Lenkerd

Mrs. Harbaugh, Chip, Adam, Chandler and Ross,
I am sad to hear about Dr. Harbaugh. Our families have known each other for many years beginning at DHBC. I can hear and see Dr. Harbaugh - always in a coat and tie - approaching me on the parking lot of the church with a smile, a hello and a handshake. Always, proper, genuine and kind; a true servant for the Lord. We will miss him.

To the Harbaugh Family,
I knew Norman for many years. He taught me at Georgia Evening College (Georgia State University)in 1953.
Much later we served together in Post 134 The American Legion. He staunchly supported our Post until his health no longer permitted. He was a Gentleman in every sense of the word and dedicated to his beliefs beyond comprehension. The world needs more Harmon Harbaughs. Rest in Peace. A long fulfilling journey, from which he never waivered, has been completed.

Fred and I felt privileged to be able to spend time with him during Chandler's graduation party. Please let us know if there is anything we can do and we will keep you all in our prayers.
