To the Landau family

I grew up with the snack and shop. Mama's potato salad was to die for and the best corned beef in town was in that deli. I am sorry for your loss but what a wonderful story of love.

I was a kid living on Rockingham Dr. My brother and I would ride our bikes down Howell Mill Road (Northside Parkway wasn't open yet) and play in the parking lot at the A&P, Wender & Roberts and the Snack 'n Shop. After college and the USAF, I still would drive down to the Snack 'n Shop to cut up with Mr. & Mrs. Feldman and Mr. & Mrs. Landau and to have a great sandwich, matzo ball soup and potato salad to die for. When they moved up on the hill next to Charlie Pero's place, I could have sandwiches at the S'n S or dinner at Pero's. Occasionally I would see the Landaus and Feldmans at Goldberg's on Roswell Road. We would still speak of the good 'ol days. I'm 65 and miss the Snack 'n Shop. I miss Saul. Now I'll miss the Landaus. Hopefully I'll see Mrs. Feldman at Goldberg's. I'll bet God is having a great bowl of matzo ball soup right now!

To The Landau Family:
I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Fran & Dave, but from what I have read they seem to have been an exceptional couple. To work with each other and be married for all those years is surly blessing. It sounds like a tragic love story that Fran passed away first and just nine weeks later Dave followed suit behind. May friends, family , fond memories and our Heavenly Father Jehovah be of great comfort to you during this time of grief.
