I met Mr Frank Mundy at the Atlanta when I had my first job working Downtown at the ole' YMCA on Luckie St. The Rebel was an energetic, dedicated, and a heart-warming and generous Southerner who came into the YMCA every day rain or shine. Frank would give you the clothes off his own back which he did and presented me with over 100 suits and 10 pair of shoes of his! No lie. He even helped me tie my first windsor tie knot at 23. I never owned such fine suits. I was moved by his and his wife Mae's kindness and did some yard work for them several times and learned the value of a hard, honest, healthy days work and the value of a dollar. I did not know much about Nascar back then like I do now but I appreciate it more now then ever. God bless you Mr Mundy and your wonderful wife Mae! We lost an All Time Champion in my book ~R.W

NASCAR and racing has lost a great friend, but Miss Mae has lost the love of her life. I once had the great pleasure of working with him when he sold boats for Custom Marine. I really wish that I had know of this sooner, because my family and I have lost a dear friend. Oh, do I remember the stories he would tell us of his wonderful life and how he met his Mae. Howerver, I guess the Lord needed another racer in heaven more than we needed him here.

One of the finest people God ever made. I have the fondest memories and greatest recollections of Frank Mundy. And he loved his MAE. We will miss him. And Frank will be happy to know Penske won his 15th Indy. May he rest in peace. Father Philiup De Rea, Catholic Chaplain, Indy Racing League.
