Just found out the sad news today of Dr. Long's passing. I only met Dr. Long twice because my OB wanted me to meet with him should Dr. Long be the one on call and the one to deliver my baby. Both times, he acted like he had known me for years. So exuberant, warm, and just genuinely kind. I ended up having a C-section, and both he and my OB delivered my sweet baby boy. I am forever grateful!

His wife, Debbie, is just as sweet and kind. My sincerest condolences to your family.

Shocked and very saddened is the only way I can describe hearing the news of George and his dad. I feel like I have lost old friends. George along with his dad helped to deliver my three children, ages 22, 20 and 15. When my eldest was born, George referred me to friend, pediatrician Dr. Caulk. My history with these two wonderful men parallels the last 50 years of my life since George was my first gynecologist at the age of 18 and Dr. Crawford delivered me at Hughes Spaulding some 50 years ago. There are plenty of good doctors but few great ones. Both these wonderful men combined good medicine with a combination of caring and a love and joy for what their practice. To the family, my most sincere condolences and to his sons, who he often spoke of with pride, please know that your dad was loved and admired by all whose path he crossed. May Dr George and his dad rest in God's loving arms.
