I am saddened to hear of Ben's death, but he's with the Lord he served for many years. Richard and I knew you and Ben and baby David in Seaside, California. Through the years we have thought of you numerous times, always with love. We have read your book and admire each of you for your struggle for peace and liberty. He was a great man. May God's Spirit dwell with you richly and grace be unto you. Love Helen Garner
It is with deep regret that I read of the passing of Col Ben Purcell. In the 1970's, I purchased a POW-MIA Bracelet in order to honor the man whose name was inscribed on the bracelet ~ LT. Col. Ben Purcell. I have tried, over the years to find the Purcell family, to give them the bracelet. I would be honored to present this bracelet to the Purcell family. Again, my deepest sympathies to your family, GLEK4@aol.com.
We are sorry to about the loss to the Purcell family of Ben. He was the greastest man I have ever met. Full of Godly wisdom, a warrior, and a gentle man all wrapped unto one person. Mrs. Ann may the Lord strenghten you and your family in the days to come.
Love, Lamar Deen & Family
I will always remember Col. Purcell. He had a huge impact on my life as a young man 35 years ago. My heartfelt condolences to the extended Purcell family, and the NGC ROTC community.
You and Ben were an inspiration to Seminar 1, the Army and your friends and family. We will always cherish having known Ben.

The Bob Williams family of Kennesaw sends our deepest sympathy and heart felt prayers in Ben's passing. My in-laws enjoyed your company so much. Ben did a minister's breakfast for me several years ago in Atlanta that was very well received. I know Ben and Bob are talking trees as we speak!
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. May the words of Jesus found at Matthew 22:31-32 comfort the family in a way that I cannnot. God bless, and may the found memories of Mr.Purcell Jr. comfort the family and enable them to endure the difficult times ahead.
I am speaking on Heroes of Faith this Sunday and Col Purcell is one of them!
An outstanding individual,a remarkable life. It's been an honor and priviledge.
It was sad to learn that my good friend and classmate, Ben Purcell, had died. He was a gentleman, a great family man and a soldier beyond any expectation! The world lost a very special man with Ben's death but he certainly left a legacy and will be remembered always for what he and his family gave! I am so pleased that I was able to visit with Ben and Anne recently. The distance makes it impossible to get to his service but know that I will be there in spirit! My love and prayers go to each member of the family and certainly my heart goes out to his lovely wife, Anne. They both served our country well and endured many hardships for all of us--thank you Purcell family! Love, Sue Ferrell, Kyle, Texas
I am so sorry about your dear Benjamin Harrision Purcell Jr. I know as a man of distinction he will be missed by many. I hope that gives you some sense of happiness to know that he truly influenced the lives of a lot of people. Please know the words at John 5: 25-29 are true and encouraging.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. It was an honor to know you both. "Love and Duty" will forever be in my heart.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of sorrow.
Cliff- Wow! What an incredibly full life and legacy.
Sorry about your loss but at the same time, can't help but feel how fortunate you are to have had such a wonderful Dad and role model in your life.
