I am shocked and saddened to learn that Charles is gone. I attended L.A. High school with him. He was very intellegent and always kind when I visited his home with my friend who had a crush on him. I am also sad to hear about Iyisa. I had always wondered what became of Charles. It seems he was quite accomplished, and I am not surprised. Rest in Peace.
Hi, Charles: Remembering you on the 52nd anniversary of your birth. These ten years seem to have flown by, but I remember you as though yesterday. I smile knowing that all is well with you and Dad. Over.
Charles, These ten years have passed quickly. I think of you often. I just found a picture of your headstone on Google a few days ago. Hmmm, I smiling, you would not know what Google is. Anyway, just stopped by to say again how proud I am of you!! Mom
Charles, I just wanted you to know that the girls are doing well--I know that you are looking down so proud that Victoria has chosen to attend Spelman being the proud Morehouse man that you were. She is adjusting well, made the Morehouse cheerleading squad and is settling in nicely. Sydney is quite busy--she is adjusting to her sophomore year at school and plays both varsity volleyball and club soccer this fall--she is captain of the club team. They are all that you wanted them to be--smart, independant, loving, and strong. They miss you. R.I.P.
I remember you and all the good times.
Well, for the first time in life, I forgot to greet you on your birthday. But I think of you daily. Hmm, this would have been your 51st! I'm sure it was a grand day for you, huh? As always, Mom
So sorry I'm just learning of your transition....you're now God's Angel....
Hi, Charles, you were on my mind a lot this week. I meant to come here and tell you yesterday on your transitional anniversary. We are well here. Zoe started college in VA last week. Zoe think you would be proud of her. I trust you and Bijan have hooked up by now. Oh, and say "hi" to Uncle Ben for me. Take care. Much love, Mom
Charles, look for Bijan. He came up there
this past Monday. We miss him!
R.i.P., to the Bro' of W.Hicks. Condolonces 'n Peace to the Hicks fam.
Lying here in knee replacement rehab has given me many moments yesterday to reflect on your Dad, and today to reflect on you. It is calming and reassuring to know that both of you are well and safe engulfed in the Master's loving arms. Mom
Wayne, I am sorry to hear of your loss.
I was always proud to have him as my cousin. I still am.
Thinking of you, Charles, and comforted knowing you, Dad, and Iyisa are just fine! Mom
Hi Charles -- thinking of you in your military uniform on this 2011 Veteran's Day. You make me proud every time that I see your daughters or think about you. I miss you young brother ... you left us too soon. But, your memory still is strong.
Love, Wayne Jr.
Good morning, Charles. It was a morning like this 49 years ago. In about 4 hours you will make your first appearance! I think about you often. I thought you would also like me to wish Leslie a Happy Birthday, too. So off I go to do that. Hi to Iyisa, your grandparents and the rest of the family!
Today would have been Iyisa's 41st birthday. I'll be back next month to commemorate your 49th. I know all is well with you.
I'm thinking of you on this Memorial Day. I find myself missing you more and more. I'm wishing that you were here for me to talk to about things.
Know that you are missed and loved.
Your brother, Wayne Jr.
Top of the day to you, Charles, on this, the start of the 48th year of my memories of you. You are always in my heart.
More family joined you this year... Iyisa and Dante. Kyra and Joannie plan to visit your resting place later today.
I spent much time thinking of your Dad yesterday...his third year away from us. And that's alright. I will see all of you, I know, "in that great gettin' up morning"!
Remembering what the Morehouse Men sang at your graduation ceremony...
Fare ye well, my son, fare ye well.
Happy Birthday Charles! I just finished writing a letter to your eldest. I'll write another letter to your youngest after I send this note.
I miss you very much Charles. I think about you and Iyisa often. You both left us too soon.
Victoria and Sydney are both beautiful and intelligent young girls. They are doing well in school and they both keep in touch with their cousins. You should be proud of them both.
Anyhow, please know that you are missed and loved. Keep smiling down on us from your place in heaven...
Charles -- I'm thinking of you today, Memorial Day. I'm honored to know that my younger brother was a Captain in the US Navy. You're missed very much...
This would have been your 47th birthday 'on this side'. I think of you often and know that you are just fine. LA cousin Kim wrote a beatuful tribute to your Dad todaywhich you would have enjoyed reading.
All uis well, my son.
Andrea -- thank you very much for your kind words. Charles is still very much a presence in our lives...
I have known you almost all of my life, Charles you have always been a special kinda guy. You will be missed. Your daughters are beautiful. To the family, stay encouraged, God knows all even when we struggle for answers.

Yesterday was a year since Dad joined you in eternity.
I thank God for the goodness that He gave me from both of you and continues to give through the legacies of your lives here among the living!
This looks to be a historic time in the next three days. Though I would 'wish' for you both yo be here to witness November 4th, I know you have been given much better "seats"! I'll be listening for your shouts!
Are you and your Dad listening to Jazz? You better be! I know for a fact that he does not like the classic station, so whatver you do, don't turn that dial! :-)
AS YOU PROBABLY KNOW I TALK ABOUT YOU,YOUR DAD AND YOUR FAMILY AN AWFUL LOT. I HOPE WHEN YOU HERE MY COMMENTS,I AM NOT EMBARRASSING YOU. YOU ARE ALWAYS IN OUR THOUGHTS.
Although I havn't had the chance to actually ever meet you from what I have read and heard you sound like a great man and Uncle. But, I still have much love for you though.!

We couldn't know that August morning that God would call your name. In life I loved you dearly. You were a source of joy and pride. It broke my heart to lose you, but I know you did not go alone. I know that in His time, God will reunite us and I look forward to that time with great joy. Sleep well, sweet prince... Mom
You remain in our minds and hearts. Our promise to you and your girls remains in tact. Continue to rest in peace little brother.
Dearest Brother - We miss you, but are blessed to know that you are in peace and with family even now. Our promises still stand. Love always, Kyra
Lee and I miss you very much. We trust that you have truly found comfort and peace.
We miss you so much, but our confidence is in knowing that, though you are absent from the body, you are present with the Lord. We will see you in the Rapture! As always, Mom
My Dearest Charles,
I can't believe it has been a year since you decided to leave us. My heart continues to break, but with God's Grace we are surviving.
The girls are doing well. They did well in school last year. Sydney, in spite of everything, still managed to be the only one in her class to make the Principal's List. They traveled to Bermuda for Gwen's wedding and spent the summer hanging out with friends next door, with Grandma and at the beach. School started a couple of weeks ago and so far so good. They miss you greatly and just hope that you are OK now.
I pray that you have found the peace that you were seeking.
My love always,
There is a meaning in everything...sometimes simple, sometimes profound. My heart still aches for an outstanding, brilliant nephew whose life meant so much to so many- family and friends.

My sincere and deepest condolence go out to you and your family. Charles was truly an officer and a gentleman in the Georgia legal community. He will be greatly missed. May God keep you and comfort you and your family during this time.
