(Isaiah 11:6) 6 The wolf will reside for a while with the lamb, And with the young goat the leopard will lie down, And the calf and the lion and the fattened animal will all be together; And a little boy will lead them.
So it will be in the not so distant future when we will have access to nature's wonders in animals and never long again for an animal companion ever again, what joy God has promised for all us animal lovers.
We all still miss you Gasper. Don't think that we forgot about you :) you bring a smile to my face every time I think of you or see your picture. You were such a beautiful whale. My friend CeeJay has just joined you in heaven. I know you two will get along well. you are both amazing and beautiful people. we love you always Gasper and CeeJay!! Rest In Peace
We are so sorry to lose such a beautiful beluga whale. But we are so happy to have seen him and to know that he was finally safe and happy and bringing joy to so many people! When we first went to see him we knew he was special, and he looked so cute doing all of his flips! Gasper was a favorite of our grandchildren, too.
I believe this is the 800th entry. Wow, Gasper, you touched many lives... including mine. You've been gone for a month already, but you will never be forgotten. Rest now, sweet angel.
Loved to watch him swim! We'll miss him!
hOPE yOU ARE IN A BETTER PLACE FREE FGROM pAIN.
well gasper was very funy and intresting in his very own way and he was always ready to put on a show no mader who was over the tank or at the veiwing window it is so sad to see him go rest in peace body
Gasper was one of the most charismatic marine animals that I have ever encountered. It was so much fun to interact with him throught that huge glass window. I think he was as happy to be at the Georgia Aquarium as we were happy to have him there. Since the opening of the aquarium, we have visited on many occasions. One of our first stops has always been the Cold Water Quest habitat, where he lived. Gasper's jovial antics drew you to him; they made you smile!
We'll miss you!
As soon as I saw Gasper at the aquarium, I knew he was special. He always seemed to have the most personality of all the belugas. He amazed me with his unique air-bubbles and he captivated me with the way he seemed to look you directly in the eyes. I simply can't believe that he's gone; I had really hoped that he would be alright. I am thirteen and wish to one day work with marine life, and he was a big inspiration for me. I will sincerely miss seeing him when we visit. I know that the aquarium staff did a lot to care for him, so I hope that they can recover from their loss soon and continue to do an awesome job.
I will truly miss you, Gasper!
While I was there Gasper was blowing bubbles, playing and just having fun. I may only be 11 but I will miss him dearly.
GASPER WE WILL MISS YOU. YOU WERE SO BEAUTIFUL. RALPH WE WILL MISS YOU TOO BIG GUY.
From the moment I saw Gasper I was captivated and totally in love. I framed a picture of him and put it in my office at work. Just looking at him made me smile and brightened my day. I was very saddened to learn of his passing. However, I know he received the best possible care at the aquarium. He will be remembered for a long time. I will keep his picture up and I know that he will still make me smile for years to come.
I personally apologize for the life you have led. May you now rest in peace.
He was one of my favorite animals there. He would always do backflips for us. I almost did not believe it when I heard he had died. I will miss seeing him when I visit.
My heart is so saddened to hear of Gasper's ill health and then subsequent death. When I came there, he grabbed my heart with his "smile" and you could see how happy he was to be here in the Atlanta aquarium. He so touched so many hearts with his happy personality and how he obviously loved the attention of those that came to see him. We will miss you deeply Gasper.
I remember when I was there he would do backflips and circle the tank so many times, my heart dropped when I heard of his loss.
I was so terribly sadden to hear that Gasper had passed on. He was so entertaining! How cute he was when he would blow bubbles, with out a doubt he grabbed my heart.
I was sad last time I visited not to see Gasper around. I've seen him twice over the last year blowing bubbles. His death is terrible news. Now he's swimming in the sky. See you Gasper. Say Hi to my bird Oz. He bites.
i always wanted to touch u gasper and spent more time with u but now that ur gone i guess that im going to miss u and im going to take u in my heart 4 always. i know u cince u wre in mexico city. bye
I was "introduced" to Gasper by my dear friend, Lily Gomez, who had the great honor and privilege of "hanging" with him in the tank. He was beautiful, theatrical and engaging and will be sorely missed.
I am extremely sadden by the lost of Gasper. We will miss him.
I love all of the beluga whales, but Gasper was the funniest one. We'll miss him.

GASPER WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WHALE THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN AND WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WE LOVE YOU GASPER
We are so sad of the loss of Gasper. We never got to meet Gasper but are delighted at the sight of Niko and the girls. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Gasper, We loved your smiles and your bubbles. You were so amazing to watch, so beautiful. We will miss you and your playfulness forever.
I always wanted to see Gasper every time I came to the Georgia Aquarium. Beluga whales were one of my favorite types of whales. My family and I were really sad when we heard about Gasper's death, but I will always remeber Gasper.
My family was saddened by the loss of Gasper. We visited the aquarium last March and our kids loved the whales but paid special special attention to Gasper because he seemed so human. He is in a better place.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
I feel special that I was able to visit Gasper in February 2006. He was so darling. I will miss not being able to see him again.
Gasper, when we mere mortal humans die, we would all be fortunate to have the number of people who love you mourning our loss! You MESMARIZED me and I am still crying - just learning of your passing. Thank you to GA Aquarium for bringing you here so I could enjoy a brief, wonderful time with you - such an amazing and wonderful creature!
We are going to miss you Gasper.
I read about the loss last night just before I went to sleep and I had the best dream. I dreamnt we were swimming in the ocean together just laughing and playing water games. It was great. I am going to miss ya pal! I will always love you and never let go of your memory.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
Gasper, you were unbelieveable and are irreplaceable.
Me and my family are saddened by Gasper's death. My son Christopher took a class trip to see Gasper. He loves him so Much!!!!!!! Goodbye Gasper! You are truly missed!
Gasper! ah i am going to miss you so much! now that i go im not going to be able to see you! well i know youre in a much better place now and that youre not suffering no more. well I love you little whale!
When my boyfriend and I visited the GA Aquarium, Gasper came up to the glass, eye-to-eye with me and flirted. When a child was in front of the glass, Gasper dashed over to him...And when the child left, Gasper came back to me. I was smitten with this friendly, curious being who longed to "connect" with humans. None of the other Beluga whales showed the intensity and curiosity that this lovely gentleman had. I will miss him as I am sure many others will!!
I will really miss you Gasper, the friendly Beluga Whale. We had some good times at the Aquarium.
When I heard about you passing I was deeply saddend. I remembered the time that I visited you at the Aquarium. You swam by and we made eye contact and I immediatly felt connected to you. I will truly miss you.
Gaspar, You were the best and funniest Beluga whale ever! Thank you for always waving hello and playing with your bubbles for us!!!
Gasper you are my favorite beluga whale and I came to see you as much as I could. I will miss seeing you every time I go to the aquarium but I will always remember you.
Gasper, I was so sad to hear that you passed on. I have been living here for a few months now and have not had the chance to go the the aquarium to see you and that makes me really sad. I know you are in a much better place now and no longer in pain. May God bless you! With all my Love -
In the year that we knew him, he was a dear freind. You touched the lives of so many, opening doors to a greater understanding of sea creatures and the world around us. Thank you for the joy that you brought to our lives and for the selfless sacrifices that you made. We will miss you. Rest well, dear one.
You are a wonder, amazing creature that will be dearly missed. Sweet dreams.
Gasper you were a magnificent animal. I have always loved sea creatures but you were the best. And God only takes the best ones first. God needed a new beautiful special angel and you were picked. He knew he was getting the best.I know you are just swimming away without any pain. Keeping swimming and blowing your bubbles. May you rest in peace and know you were loved the world over.
Gasper, Just keep swimming. Thanks for all the great memories.
My thoughts and prayers are with the staff at the sad time. Thanks for everything.
I just found out about the loss of Gasper. I will miss him. :(
I pray that Gasper can now live the life he always loved, without pain. He truly loved being on "show" for the humans. Blowing bubbles, casually floating by, and I believe, making a connection to each person that took the time to spend with him. I pray for comfort for all the vets and caregivers that worked so hard to make it just a little easier for him. That they may have peace in knowing that his suffering is now over and that he was rescued, although for a brief time, and was truly happy at the aquarium. May his passing be a renewed love for all of God's creatures in the hearts of every person that knew him.
Gasper was truely a unique soul. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
He was a beautiful animal that touched the hearts and lives of many. He had a wonderful home and many great caretakers his last year with us.
My children and I never had the opportunity to see you in person, but we followed your journey from the beginning to the end. We know your happy in heaven and we will miss you.
OUR LOVE IS WITH YOU,MAY YOU BE SWIMMING IN PEACE!
More than a week has gone by and I still feel sadness for Gasper's passing. I saw him for the first time at the aquarium on the preview days as an annual passholder and saw him several times during the following months. He seemed sweet and playful, and really showed a lot of personality. One look at Gasper and I thought, "This is the ambassador for the Georgia Aquarium right here." I am thankful for the hardworking, dedicated staff who worked long hours to try and save Gasper, and also for their compassion when it became clear that he wouldn't pull through. I know that decision could not have been an easy one, but I am certain it was the right one.
My wife was working with the scientists at the University of Georgia to find a solution to some of Gaspers health issues. On the day Gasper died she was devastated and did not sleep all night. It was if we had lost a family member. It was a somber and sad mood in our home. Ironically, this was the first time she was involved with any work concerning the environment or working with animals. She is really just a pharmacy student at UGA who was involved in research for topical skin medication. But, as she began working on the solution to Gasper's skin problems she became very attached to him, eventhough we never got a chance to go see him in the aquarium, and this is something we both regret. I am not an "environmentalist" and neither is she, but when that little whale passed it just ripped our hearts out. I can't explain it, but you just felt something when you saw how majestic and delicate he was. It was almost as if he was a person. He looked like he could just open up his mouth and talk to you if he wanted to. Something changed inside of both of us when Gasper died, something changed within us concerning the ocean and man's authority over the planet. Well, this is her story, and somehow it became mine as well. I think she is still too sad to write about it, and so I have taken it upon myslef to let the world know how hard she worked to help Gasper. I know I speak for her when I say "Gasper, you were amazing, and a blessing to us all".
Gasper, I only saw you once but you amazed and awed me. Thank you for bringing so much joy to so many people. May you find this joy yourself as you swim among the stars. God Bless.
I saw you on my 5th anniversery with my husband and thought you were beautiful. You were the star of the place you will be missed but i do have a photo as a memory of you!
I had the opportunity to see Gasper in December 2006 with our kindergarten class. It was a great experience in fact our children had beluga whale name tags on. Gasper was a beautiful whale and will be missed.
Gasper, you will be missed so much! We have really enjoyed watching you. You were one of our favorites at the aquarium.
Your friends, Coleman, Cameron, and Chelsea
We will miss you Gasper! We didn't get to know you for long, but you certainly left your mark on the GA Aquarium! Goodbye you sweet face!
Love, The Fox Family
I have had many opportunities to get pictures of Gasper. I will use these pictures to remember the fun and friendly beluga whale that made visiting Cold Water Quest extremely pleasurable. You will be missed by all.
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting you...I have followed your story since you were 'rescued' and your new home became the Georgia Aquarium...you touched the hearts of all and you will be truly missed! Gasper rest in peace...we love you.
Gasper was an incredible animal who I was blessed enough to get to work with for a short while... It has been my dream since childhood to work with beluga whales, and Gasper made that dream a reality. It is so beautiful to see how many lives Gasper touched, including the aquarium staff. Bless them all for being caring and loving enough to know when to let him rest in peace and for giving him love and comfort for the last year or so of his life. I am able to accept this tragedy because of my faith in the veterinary and husbandry team in their tough decision. They did the right thing...I miss you Gasper! And I will love you always!
I will miss taking pictures of you! You tugged on the heart strings of all who watched you.
We enjoyed seeing you on our visit to the Georgia Aquarium, Gasper. We moved out of Atlanta soon after seeing you, but always remembered the smile you brought to our faces.
Sweet as a Georgia Peach was your character, and those adorable eyes that made me want to say nice things about you Gasper. I see you swim across my computer screen and know that you're looking over all you Georgia friends. Till we meet again dearest Gasper "Peachy Fin" I"ll pray: May God's blessings be with your beluga heart and your quantum size leaping soul.
We fell in love with Gasper the moment we first saw him over a year ago. The pictures we have of our daugther standing in front of him while he blew bubbles will always be precious to us. We'll miss him!
Gasper, I only got one chance to see you. But the 1 time I saw you was such a joy. And you made my day complete. Thank you!
I only saw Gasper 1 time. But he made my day. I will always remember that special day.
I did not get to visit the aquarium in time to see you, Gasper, before you were isolated from your fellow tank mates. But I followed your valiant battle against so many odds and cherish the many pictures I saw of you. You will be remembered because of your friendly smiling face and your playful bubble blowing game. You gave us something to smile about in this crazy world of ours. Thank you for showing us humans how to behave happily despite all the adversity you faced in your short life. We will miss you, Gasper. God bless you.
Gasper, I loved watching you at the Georgia Aquarium. You were so friendly and so many people including me loved you and could watch you for hours! I have read that you really blossomed in Atlanta but that unfortunately you already had a debilitating disease. Your caretakers were very fond of you and tried their very best to save you. In the end, you couldn't overcome even though you were so much happier there. We are glad to have given you hope and joy your during your last part of your life. We will all miss you! Love, Marilyn Krone
I am deeply saddened by Gasper's passing!!! My own father, named Nicco Bruin, also passed away from osteomyelitis this past March. Both losses were extremely sad! (Gasper was kind enough to blow bubbles for me on several of my visits.)
You will be missed. Even though my family and myself never saw you in person, but you were always in our hearts. Thanks to the team who rescued you and Nico, and to the aquarium staff who took care of you. Bless you all for the great work you did for Gasper.
In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
Gasper, during your time in Atlanta, you touched many hearts in ways others would not imagine. I spent most of that day visit at the aquarium gazing at you, and surprising I wasn't the only one, as you entertained us blowing and catching bubbles, while my nephew reminded me serveral times, ...there are other exhibits... ...I thought this visit was for me... ... we do have an annual pass, you can come back you know... ...Can we go now... You will be missed.
gasper we will miss you deeply, ive only been there once but you were my faverite!!i know now that you are healthier than ever and swimming in the cleanest of seas with god watching over you ...R.I.P.
Gasper I never had a chance to meet you because I moved away before the Aquarium opened. Best wishes to where ever your going with all my love.

Gasper brought joy to so many and will always be remembered. It is with sadness that we say goodbye, but know he is in a heaven and no longer in pain.
We loved you when you were doing all those cool jumps and my friend Carley loved you too.
i was so sad that Gasper lost his life. But, then my mom told me that everything was okay. But, sometimes i feel a little sad.
I Got to see Gasper 1 time at the Aquarium and he was very playful, it is a sad thing that gasper had to be put down but life goes on...
What did Gasper accomplish during his life? He brought joy to everyone who saw him. Would that we could all have such a legacy.
And to the staff at the Georgia Aquarium, who gave him such loving care, you can be so proud, even as you grieve, that you did everything you could to save him, and then let him go in peace.
Rest in peace, Gasper, we miss you. The kids loved seeing you on our first visit and drawing get well pictures for you when we found out you were sick. We look forward to your sculpture.
The Rea family, Woodstock
I love you Gasper! so much! love, Chase Patrick
We have been members of the annual pass for 2 years now. And the greatest sight was seeing Gasper center stage dancing and blowing bubbles for the crowd of people standing before him. And listening to the exceitment of joy in the childrens voices as they called out to Gasper. I have pictures of him that day. Gasper you will be missed dearly, but we will remember you for ever. God speed my friend.
Gasper, I will miss your smiling face. I love you and miss you a whole, whole bunch....

Gasper, your loss has saddened all of us. Your playfulness and good spirit will always be remembered. I know you are now in a better place and will be able to play watch over the other animals at the aquarium.
I was priviledged to see Gasper in November and was awed at how beautiful a being he is, and was. Even during his sickness, he came to the glass to entertain and say hello. I am so sorry he was so ill, but glad that he is no longer in pain.
We were very saddened to hear the news of your passing and wished we had the opportunity to see you before you were taken off the exhibits. Your expressions always made us smile, and we hope that you're free from illness and pain wherever you are now, experiencing true freedom. You fought a long battle, and God decided that you had had enough pain and called you home.
I´m from Argentina,South America and had the pleasure of seeing Gasper in Dec2005,I was there with my family and It was one of the happiest days of my life..Thank you Gasper!!! Love,Debbie
Gasper, Never having met you doesn't mean you weren't loved.I have followed your progress since the beginning and pulled for you all the way. You are much loved and all whales are such wonderful animals. We must not take your lives lightly. You were smart and cognizant of what when on around you and cared for your keepers as they cared for you. They did their best to cure you but in the end maybe less will suffer because of you. We will miss you greatly. Maybe you will be meet our wildlife warrior Steve Irwin and play together in the beyond.Much love Bonnie Kelley from Chesterfield,Mi.

So sweet so beautiful. You affected us all with your gentle demeanor. Thank you.
I feel so fortunate to have seen Gasper on our visit last year. What a beautiful animal. We stood and watched him and his companions swan so gracefully. We have photos to help us remember these ocean treasures.
My condolences to the Georgia Aquarium staff and thank you for making Gasper’s last years as comfortable as possible.
Gasper, swim healthy and free in heaven’s sea. Farewell.
We will miss your "smile" so much. Thank you for the joy you brought to our family and other visitors in your short stay with us.
Growing up with Seaworld of Ohio in my back yard. The sea life has been a big part in my life. Even though I have never met you, I have met other beluga whales up close at Seaworld and I even went on a cruise in Canada to see beluga whales in their home! Just wanted to say you are in my thoughts and I am sure you have left a big flipper print on many hearts around the world! Thank you to the Georgia Aquarium for finding you and doing all they could to help you. I had never heard of your aquarium until today. I look foward to visiting and seeing the soon to be statue of the beluga whale dedicated to you! God Bles
God rest you, Gasper...Go in peace..Your work on earth is done...

Beautiful whale! He was a pleasure to watch!
I know it was a tough decision to set you free to go swim in God's ocean where everything you do will be a delight and you will no longer feel any pain. I'm sure you know you were well taken care of and the humans who knew you and those who took care of you will miss you greatly -- we all will!
Please understand the peace and knowledge you've given your care takers will help them better understand your fellow species.
You had a meaning while you were with us on Earth.
Swim wild, free and with peace. You are in God's hands now, and in a very special place. He will take very good care of you forever.
One day the people you love the most will meet you at the Rainbow bridge. Until then, peace and contentment forever, Gasper!

You will be missed!
We visited the Georgia Aquarium for the first time last week. We were in awe of the beautiful exhibits... but our favorite by far were the Beluga whales. We don't know whether or not we saw Gaspar, but it is easy to see that he was a star among his adorable tribe.
Hi everyone, im so sorry about Gasper. I have never been to the aquarium, but the i watched the video Window to Wow and i kind of felt a bond and i am saddened by the news of his death.

Dearest Gasper, I shall miss your smile, song and bubbles! Thank you, Lord, for giving us Gasper, our angel who just happened to be a Beluga Whale! And, thank you Georgia Aquarium Staff and Veterinary Team for caring for our Gasper so we could all hold him in our hearts, prayers and dreams!
Gasper, you will be missed! I enjoyed seeing you whenever we went to the aquarium.
Gasper along with the other Beluga whales were the entire reason I even went to the Georgia Aquarium in the first place. Gasper alway gaurenteed a great show every time I visited. He will be greatly missed.
hey gasper i live in canada and i really upset that you are not at the aquarium anymore.I really wanted to come down but i have not been able to yet.I regret it now because i do not get to see you.My dad had bought me the video of the making of the georgia aquarium, so i watched you in mexico and being delivered to the aquarium.I know though that you are in a better place.
Gasper you are a beautiful soul and your spirit lives on. I know you swim free among the stars now.
You were the reason I wanted to visit the GA Aquarium. I visited you in December 2005. Before you, I never knew beluga whales existed. You were beautiful then as you are now. You will be missed by millions. Thank you for allowing us to love you so much. We will meet again one day Gasper.....
You are gone but will never be forgotten. We will miss you dearly.
So long Gasper. I'm sure you are still swimming happily and smiling in your whale's afterlife home!
Though I never got to meet you I know you were very special to those that did. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
Greeted by your sweet smile at the Aquarium on Opening Day, you quickly stole our child's heart. Our little son could see the kind spirit that you emitted and he looked forward to frequent visits with you. I am sure you are now out chasing bubbles with the other Beluga souls! God Bless you Gasper, The Crissy Family,
As a volunteer of the Aquarium I was deeply saddened to hear about Gasper. He is in a much better place now. Love you, Gasper!
We are so happy that we got the chance to see Gasper. He made us smile everytime we saw him. He was so cute and he looked so friendly. We love the Aquarium and are so sad that they had to loose Gasper. We wish the Aquarium and other whales good luck.
I took my grand daughter to see the Georgia Aquarium in June of 2006. One of her favorite exibits was Gasper the Whale. I am really happy that she got to see the whales on our trip. The Georgia Aquarium is indeed a very special place.
*Sigh* I saw you at the aquarium in your happy days. I wish you could've gotten better, but the Almighty One had different plans for you. Enjoy the everlasting ocean in the sky, my friend. We'll miss you down here.
We will miss you so much. You added so much joy to so many people who have came to see you.
Gasper, I never made it to the aquarium to see you but you won my heart first time I saw you on tv. What a beauty you are. People all over the world loves you still. My heart goes to you my friend. Your presence will be missed. My prayers to you..
Gasper was my favorite animal at the aquarium. We were only able to see him once before he was put into the private tank to be treated for his illness, but he really put on a show for everyone. We will miss him but are glad that he does not have to suffer now.
I went to the aqurium twice and saw you both times. You were an amazing animal. You were always the one in the front, showing off. I heard your story and I am happy that you got to spend the end of your life happy and safe.
The Hollcroft Family had the honor in seeing you in your wonderful home. We were so excited to watch you interact with the others. You will be surely missed.
Beluga Whale By: Kristen Visser
I am the Beluga Whale.
I am called the canary of the sea.
I'm all white with tiny black eyes.
And I am friendly to everybody!
I am not a very fast swimmer.
I have a round blunt head.
I make the cold Arctic Ocean,
My safe and snuggly waterbed.
Thank you Kristen Visser for your beautiful poem.
We love you Gasper! xoxoxoxo
I have been planning a trip down to the aquarium, but haven't been able too. I regret not making there to see you. It upsets me knowing that you are gone, but I am sure you are in a good hands now. I know you will be missed by the millions who have seen you, those who have not, your caretakes, the staff at the aquarium, and the other whales. Rest in Peace, Gasper.
I am so glad I was able to see you play in your home here in Atlanta. I could tell you enjoyed it and I know that you knew you spent the last year of your life in a better place. I will treasure the pictures I have of you doing your 'spinning'. Goodbye, Gasper.
This is a very sad loss for everyone in Atlanta. It was always such a treat to see Gasper at the Aquarium.
I never had the opportunity to meet you, but I can see that you are a beautiful spirit and your passing is a loss for the material world.
Gasper, you taught me how to love sea life. I wasn't a big aquarium buff and all that changed as I shot my first digital photos of you. I have video of you on my cell phone and I show it to so many people. Thank you for bringing joy to my life and for bringing my child and I closer as we watched you swim.
Atlanta and the world will miss your smile. You were a fighter until the end and I hope you are in a better place. You will always be in my heart.
Gaspar will be missed, but I'm sure his memory will live on because of the volumes of science collected since his arrival in Georgia. It is true that God has blessed the beasts, for He truly blessed you, Gaspar, with loving caretakers until the end. God's speed.
Thank you Gasper for letting Atlanta and the rest of the world get to know and love you. We will miss you.
Gasper, I never saw you in person, but I've been watching you today on my PC. Never new you existed until today when I watched you. You will
be missed by the thousands and thousands of people like me who loved seeing you. God must really love us humans to put so many wonderful, loving animals on this earth for us to love and enjoy. I hope to see you in heaven too. You were so beautiful to all your admirers, a real cutey pie!
We will miss you Gasper. Sleep peacefully until we are all reunited.
Gasper, you have touched many hearts. Your spirit will continue to teach millions of visitors about Beluga Whales, they're life, love, and charm. Rest in peace, beautiful soul.
This fabulous creature seemed to love the people and the attention. He will be missed.
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting you Gasper you sure seem to have touched a lot of lives may peace be with you in your final resting place no more pain or suffering R.I.P.
Gasper...you were one of God's creatures and the world will be at a loss without you.
I was lucky to get to see you upon your arrival. Thank you for blessing us in Atlanta, you were an amazing animal. See you in heaven!
We were so sorry to hear of Gasper's passing. We have visited the aquarium several times over the past year, and the children have enjoyed the whales very much.
Gasper, you don't know how many lives you've touched, enriched and educated. Thank you for being your fun-loving self!
Although I am in California, the news of Gaspers death saddens me. I know it was a hard decision to make and you all tried your best throughout his stay at your facility. Bless all of you for your efforts and dedication to Gasper.
Dear Gasper, I've had the pleasure of watching you, your antics and your smile. You will be missed. Rest in peace, you brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people.
Gasper was a wonderful emissary for the Aquarium and the vision that the Cold Water Quest represents. He will be missed and always loved as one of the "original" inhabitants of the GA Aquarium. Well done Gaspaer! A life "wel lived"...
You will be missed by all your friends and fans alike.
Gasper, even though I never got the chance to meet you your story has touched me dearly. I was saddened to hear of your passing. May you always be remembered!!
My parents called to let me know of your passing. I'm a native of Marietta & was very proud to learn that Atlanta was being blessed with the Aquarium. I was one of the fortunate ones who was able to enjoy you up close this past March, 2006. You will be missed very much but I know you are in a better place. Godspeed Gasper
My family & I are so glad we got to see you at the aquarium before you had to leave us. What a wonderful & precious animal you were. We will miss you dearly.
Michelle, Herb, Autumn, & Isaac Blackmon

Thanks for all the laughs you have gave me. You have helped me to decide that I am that I am going to be a Marine Biologist.
I was very saddened by the death of Gasper. I saw him for the first time in September 2006 while on a business trip to Atlanta. They are such amazing creatures and the aquarium is a remarkable place. May he rest in peace. God Bless Gasper.
Gasper, we LOVED having the opportunity to meet you and feel very blessed to have had a little time with you! You were beautiful! You will be terribly missed! You touched many lives in your short time at the GA. Thank you for enriching our lives and teaching us!
My heart goes out to all who have worked and cared for Gasper. I know that the loss of an animal is as traumatic as the loss of a human. Just know that Gasper loved you and appreciated everything that you did for him. God Bless you all.
We love you, Gasper. Thank you for blowing bubbles at us. We felt like you were putting on a show just for us. You will not be forgotten.
God bless, Gasper. You were special to all who visited and worked with you. You will be missed.
Although I didn't have a chance to see you in person just hearing about you makes me very sad to not have had the chance for my daughter to see and meet you . You will be missed.
My heart goes out to all those who worked with and loved Gasper. Be comforted to know that you all made a huge difference in his quality of life this past year. He was fortunate to have such a wonderful, caring and compassionate staff to care for him.
i didnt get to see gasper at all in person but got online and seen the vidio of them talking about loosing him and feel sadden because of his health problems my little 2 yr old daughter was delighted to see pics of him and is always asking where's gasper
I hope to see you in my dreams.
You were wonderful to watch and I'll miss you.
Gasper, you will be greatly missed. I now have the courage to love a pet again in my life, because of the affection you displayed to a stranger. Thanks to a fallen angel.
I was lucky in that I got to see Gasper when he was in the big tank up front. It was just amazing to see how he would go to the bottom of the tank to be at the same height as all the little kids watching him. I knew that this was a very special animal. We were lucky to have him with us for a time. I am so sorry that you all could not get him well again. I am sure you all are very sad now. But you have learned and will be able to help other Whales in the future. Thanks again for the time we did have with Gasper.
I will miss you dearly. You were a graceful and wonderful animal. Even though you were only at the Georgia Aquarium for a short time, the amount of joy that you brought to me and all the other aquarium patrons is priceless. You will be greatly missed and loved. May you Rest In Peace.
With Love and Prayers
I never did get to see you, but I know how much you touched everyone's lives by your smiles. We will miss you...
Gasper, I saw you shortly after you arrived and was totally impressed. I loved the way you always came to the window to smile and blow bubbles. Because of you many of us now want to know more about Beluga Whales! You will be missed!
What a beautiful sight you were and what wonderful memories you leave in the short period of time you were in the Georgia Aquarium.
Our condolences to all your caretakers and staff.
Sorry to never have the opportunity to see you face to face.
Your story is one which will inspire many for years to come.
Farewell friend, and best wishes where ever you now call home.
We'll miss your smile and the joy you brought to so many people.
Dear Gasper, I cannot even read your story without becoming a weeping wreck. I will miss your smile.
You were very special to all of us and will miss your playfulness and joy that you brought to us all
Love The Dunbars
Gasper, I wish you could have stay with us. May you rest in peace in a happy place for ever more. You were very special and we were lucky to have you. I hope you were able to read the card that my sister and I brought to you on Monday. I cried all day on Tuesday I love and miss you so much already. Victoria Grant Canton Ga. 9 years old
My children and I loved seeing you at the aquarium, and we loved seeing you turn flips over and over again and blowing bubbles almost as if you were talking to us. And though we would never want you to be unhealthy or in pain, we will miss you terribly!!! You were much loved!
Donna Sullivan; Tucker, Savannah, Austin & Sydney
We will never forget you Gasper!
Gasper, I am very sorry to hear of your passing. You smiled for the world for sure. Your Spirit will live in my heart always.
Dear GA Aquarium Staff,
What an incredible act of kindness. You will be in Gasper's heart forever.
My favorite exhibit at the Aquarium is the Beluga Whales. Watching them just takes your breath away. Gasper you will be deeply missed but not forgotten.
To the Georgia Aquarium family,
My family has annual passes and enjoys our visits that we frequently make. We were able to see Gasper Christmas of 2005 with lots of our family. We all enjoyed watching Gasper with all of his friends. Like many others we were sad when he became to ill to be on display. But every visit we made we always asked about him. So when we received the e-mail that he had passed away we were deeply saddened.
We just wanted to thank you for bringing such a wonderful animal into our lives. And thank you for all the love that went into helping him all along. From the trip he made from Mexico to Atlanta. To helping him try to get over his infection. And caring so tenderly for him to the last.
We were never able to meet him up close and personal like the staff at the aquirium but we will greatly miss him. He will always be in our hearts and memories.
Gasper, I saw you last year, you brought joy to everyone. I could have stayed for hours watching your smile and blowing your bubbles.
The aquarium will not be the same without you..
Many thanks to all at the Ga Aquarium for taking him out of his pain and suffering.
Rest in Peace my beautiful friend!! Many blessings to all who took care of you and tried so hard to make you well again. It was just not to be. We love you and will not forget you.
Gasper was an AMAZING whale, and he will be missed by everyone who visited the aquarium. WE LOVE YOU GASPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will always remember my first visit to the aquarium and how anxious I was to get over to the beluga area just so I could see Gasper. I think I was more excited than all the kids who were trying to get as close as possible to the glass just to see Gasper's wonderful personality. When I saw his lesions I knew he had to be in pain but he certainly did not let that hinder him from portraying that outgoing friendly personality. I know that Gasper had the best care in the world by the aquarium staff and I know he is at peace but most of all he is no longer in pain.
A big thanks to the staff and a great big thanks to Bernie Marcus for rescuing this awesome creature and bringing him to Atlanta. During his short stay he brought much joy and smiles to many, many faces.
THANK YOU FOR COMING TO ATLANTA TO TEACH US ALL THE MEANING OF JOY !
May you rest in peace Gasper. I know the staff and the people you touched will miss you. You will be missed!!
You will be missed by many, but it was your turn to go. Hopefully your in a better place now.
Mister Gasper the Beluga whale,
You were the best whale I've ever seen in the world!! I remember that one time I went to the aquarium, you were all happy and everything. You are so adorable and everybody misses you!
You were my favorite part of the aquarium, and I looked forward to coming just to see you. You made me so happy and spirited to see you blow bubbles. Niko just isn't as fun as you always were. I will always remember you and miss you deeply.
May you rest in peace Gasper. You're not suffering anymore.
THE LITTLE WHITE WHALE THAT COULD
I saw you swimming freely,
Though it only was ONE time.
To ME it was a privilege,
And the pleasure was all mine.
Thanks go out to the doctors and crew,
Who brought you to this place.
You made us ALL so happy,
When we'd see your smiling face :)
It really hurts to know you're gone,
And we loved you while we could.
We'll all remember you fondly as...
THE LITTLE WHITE WHALE THAT COULD.
Rest in Peace now Gasper. You'll be missed.
What a joy you brought as we watched you swim around and turn over and over! We'll miss you.
Sorry to hear about you Gasper, rest in peace. We all will miss you.
The first visit I noticed you right away and heard your story. I loved seeing you play and was pulling for you to heal. The next time I came to the aquarium I noticed right away you weren't there and asked where you were and how you were doing. I was sorry not to see you again. I'm so sorry not to be able to see you playing again. You were a bright light.
You will be missed dearly.
Gasper - don't tell the penguin's - but you were always my favorite. We'll miss you.
I saw you at the aquiarium soon after you arrived and hoped you would get better. It made me sad to hear you were sick. I hope that you have a good afterlife in whale heaven.
i really miss you gasper. you were a cool whale.
Thank you to all who lovingly cared for our wonderful Gasper. I cannot imagine your grief. Gasper was happiness, joy and light. He will be missed.
Gasper we will miss you! We know you are now with God and if you meet our kitty Gator she will be your friend!
You will be deeply missed.
sorry gasper, i went to the aquarium a while ago and im wearing the shirt now, it wont be as good without you now gasper.
My family and I visited the aquarium this past summer. The beluga whales were truly amazing. I always get amazed at all of Gods creatures. We were sad to hear the news about Gasper. To all the aquarium workers - may God be with all of you during this sad time and a thank you for caring not only for Gasper but all the animals at the aquarium.
There was something so special about you. How unexpected that you stole your way into my heart as I kept up with your progress. I began missing you when you were taken off exhibt. Now that you are truly gone, the hope I held for your recovery is replaced with sadness. God bless you.
I saw him in January of 06. He captured my heart with his personality.
Dear,Gasper I had to write to you again. You made me be able to have faith in myself at school, everywhere. I will miss you a ton. I want to wish you a Merry Christmasand a Happy New Years. The next time I go to the aquarim I will always remember you. I am crying as I type this.Thank you to all for trying to save Gasper's life. Fair well my be loved friend.
RIP Gasper and may GOD be with the staff and fans of Gasper WE LOVE GASPER. GASPER you will be missed
To the One & Only: GASPER the Whale
Gasper, you were one of a kind that I have been seeing each time I go to the Aquarium. Now, you are gone and I couldn't forget you because you were the best whale to see.
You are a worthy whale, but your happiness here would have many special memories for your fine job.
Gasper, I Love You. And I wish you to rest in peace.
I remember the first time I came to the aqaurium. It was happy and you were my favorite animal there. This was a great loss, I love and miss you Gasper. RIP.
Gasper, if more humans had your character, courage, and ability to give joy to others, this would be a much better world. Rest in Peace gentle one.
As an annual pass member, I had the good fortune of seeing Gasper on several occasions and to show him off to every out-of-town guest that visited. He was, by far, the joy of each visit. To me, he was the best "spokesperson" to relate to us humans the good that was done by creating this spectacular facility.
We can't always relate an animal's expression to the true nature of it's feelings; but how can you help but not notice his "smile" and his flirtacious actions with us; and then realize that this was a happy guy, even with his illness.
Thanks to all the staff that worked with Gasper in his short stay with us. You became his "friends" to enjoy in the last year of life.
Truely, his memory will last a very long time.
I learned about Gasper thru the CNN Video of his passing. Compelled to read this Guest Book, I am enheartened and overwhelmed by Gasper's Spirit. God surely send him to Mexico so that he could eventually come to the Georgia Aquarium and lovingly touch so many people. May his legacy of love for life continue onward...thru the helping of other unfortunate creatures of God.
Bless the workers, and doers, and all those who were touched by Gasper.
Gasper, may you swim under the Rainbow Bridge in the Crystal Sea until we all meet you again!
When I heard of Gaspers death Tuesday morning, I started crying. I could not believe that the most beautiful creature I have ever seen-the beluga named Gasper was gone.I was amazed at the gracefulness of such a beautiful animal as Gasper. My boy-friend and I were awe struck at how he smiled at you while he was swimming on his back..like he knew we were there watching and what a show he put on for all of us! Gasper, you will be missed by all who loved you and for me I am one of those who will miss your smile and beauty. Rest in peace!
Good-bye Gasper. I miss you already. I'm sorry that you are gone but glad that your suffering has ended. You were such a special creature, so graceful and serene...with a millon dollar grin.
Such a sad day and I know you fought hard to servive. You are in a much better place and free again at last.
I've never been to see the Zoo but one day I will. I've always been an avid fan of the Beluga Whale in that they are so beautiful & so captivating that I just love them so much. I'm deeply saddened to hear about Gasper and all the others who took such great care of him. I join them in their sorrow for such a great animal. Keep up the good work & someday with all our great technology we will be able to cure other animals with this disease.
Gasper was my favorite part of the whole aquarium. During many visits he would make me laugh so hard. He will be very missed!
You are the best beluga whale.
I WANTED THE MEDICAL STAFF TO KNOW THAT GASPER WAS VERY HAPPY WHEN HE ARRIVED IN GEORGIA, I DIDN'T THINK HE WAS GOING TO MAKE IT WHEN I SAW THE NEWS RELEASES WHEN YOU FIRST FOUND HIM. GASPER WAS THE HAPPIEST HE HAD EVER BEEN IN HIS SHORT LIFE HERE IN ATL., AND HE LOVED HIS HANDLERS AND THE MEDICAL STAFF. PLEASE DON'T THINK I AM A CRAZY PERSON, I JUST COMMUNICATE WITH THE ANIMALS. GASPER ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE. THANK YOU FOR HIS RESCUE, HE LEARNED THAT ALL HUMANS ARE NOT BAD. GOD BLESS GASPER AND HIS STAFF.
The only time I went to the Aquarium I was having a miserable time. I had been sightseeing around Atlanta the whole day and almost got lost, so I was a bit tired and irritable by then. I wanted to go back home quickly so I just sped through most of the Aquariium, but when I got the Beluga whales, I was captivated by their beauty and serenity. I sat there watching them for a while and they just made my day, especially Gasper, whose story really touched me.
It's unfortunate to hear about the death of such beautiful creature, but I'm sure that wherever he is now, he's probably making people happy, just like he did with me that day.
Rest in peace, Gasper. You will be
Gasper, God bless you and rest in peace. You were a very beautiful whale and you were the 1st beluga whale I had seen ever. When I grow up I will go to college and study to become an environmentalist and help save animals like you.I wish I could see you one more time.
Gasper, you brought me so many hours of joy! Your interaction with aquarium visitors was documented on numerous priceless photos. You are the reason I renewed my membership this year! Be at peace.
The first time I saw you I just stood there in awe. You were so beautiful and graceful and in those moments as I watched you it seemed like I had no care in the world. Thank you for bringing me peace ane God Bless you. You will be missed
Gasper was admired and loved by all who had the opportunity to view him as he "smiled" at us from his tank. The veterinarians and caretakers who so lovingly and tenderly cared for Gasper are commended for their valiant efforts to save our beloved Beluga. Thank you. Thank you, Gasper, for the joy you brought to us; we will miss you.
Gasper you will be missed! :( I am glad you came to Atlanta to spend your last days in a much better enviroment.

Gasper, you will be missed. I enjoyed watching you watch us and when you laughed everyone else laughed. In the short time you were there you made a lasting impression on everyone.
Thank you to the Aquarium staff for everything you do for all the creatures there.

So long, Gasper. Happy waves to you.
When I first saw you, I was amazed. You've touched people's lives more than you know. We all love and miss you.
With a joyous life bring great sadness in death, we will remember you and keep you alive in our hearts.
I loved watching you blow bubbles by the window! I hope you enjoyed your new home the short time you were there. We sure enjoyed you being there.
My heart breaks that you finally had to release Gasper from his pain and suffering. He was the highlight of my visit to the whale tank, and Gasper will be missed. Thank you for allowing us the times we spent with Gasper and praying for his unsuccessful recovery. Gasper will rest now.
He made my heart sing. I feel like I lost a member of the family.
I will never forget my first visit to the aquarium and the Beluga whale tank. Casper filled our hearts with so much joy! Iam saddened by his passing, but find much comfort in knowing what he brought to us all during his time with us.My heart goes out to all of you there that cared so well for him, you did such a good job. Thanks and much love to you all....
We will miss you so much.
Courtney and Peyton
Bless you, Gasper, for bringing so much joy into our lives. We just loved spending time with you! Our sympathies to every person and animal at the aquarium.
Be in peace Gasper ,you will be misswd.
Thank you Bernie and Billie for making it possible for Gasper to live out the rest of his life in joy. Everyone loves what you have created for all to see. Gasper was a sick puppy who got enjoy his life to the end dispite his illness. Thank you and all your staff, much love from the Darryl & Jane Moran family.
Gasper was one of the most beautiful of God's creatures, and the most graceful. He is now gracefully gliding through the beautiful oceans of heaven, forever happy and healthy again. My condolences to the caregivers who fought so valiantly to make him well.
Dear Gasper,I never got to meet you in person but I bet you where a pritty great whale.Love,Allie.(Age=4 months)
Peace be with you Gasper! You will be missed!
Cold Water Quest was always the first exhibit I would go to - to see Gaspar and his friends. He was a true joy to see. To make eye contact with a whale was beyond belief to me. It seemed like he really enjoyed watching the people watching him! I will truly miss seeing Gaspar's eyes and bubbles - they were magical. Thanks to Bernie Marcus for bringing the aquarium to Atlanta and making it possible for us to see the Beluga whales - probably the most beautiful and graceful of God's creatures.
We will miss you but you always be there at the aquarium.
Gasper, we will miss you. Thank God you were happy and comfortable the months prior to you leaving us. Will remember you with big smiles.
ONWARD GREAT ONE.........FEAR NO EVIL.............YOU WILL BE MISSED.
Gasper was our FAVORITE attraction and will be missed. We prayed for him and now know he is better and free from suffering.
Gaspar, the unofficial mascot of Atlanta, brought joy and happiness to its people and the many people who visited our wonderful Aquarium. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. I will greatly miss sitting in front of his tank watching him blow bubbles and entertaining his guests as he curiously looked at us like he wanted us to join in his play.
I will miss you Gasper - you will always be in my heart and part of our family.
Watching you gave me much joy and I looked forward to seeing you again. Warm memories will live in my heart forever bought on by your presence in our lives. May God Bless you.
Sweet baby Beluga, you have gone to heaven above and we will miss you. Swim wild and free little one.
Te voy a extrañar
I will miss the wonderous beauty of that whale. Although my life will not be quite the same - I will continue to smile every time that I think about Gasper. XOXO
Gasper, was one of the most beautiful and graceful whales that I have been able, to have the pleasure to experience.
Thank-You and Gasper,
For enriching my life!
Our favorite animal at the Aquarium was Gasper. We are saddened to hear that he had to be euthanized but we know that this decision was made in Gasper's best interest. Our hearts go out to all the caregivers who must be heartbroken today. Gasper had a much better live in the GA Aquarium than he had before, thank you for bringing him to Atlanta. Gasper - you'll be missed!
Although Bernie Marcus knew that Casper was not in good health at the time that he acquired him for the Aquarium, he and his team did everything possible to provide the best of medical care for the whale, at great time and expense. Others probably would not have taken the risk of acquiring a sick whale. I have great respect and admiration for all of those who cared for Casper. We will all miss our favorite whale.
I was fortunate to see Gasper on more than one occasion. He and the other Beluga whales seem to have personalities. Here is my wish: make Gasper your new symbol and mascot replacing Deepo. It would be a fitting tribute and will help reshape the "personality" of the Georgia Aquarium as we head into the new year. Our sympathy the caregivers and staff.
You know what I love about you, Gasper? The power you had to bring people from all over the city (and state, even country apparently from those who have signed this guestbook) to join in a simple, heartfelt and compassionate mission-to wish you health and happiness. How often does that happen even for another human being, let alone an animal? That's pretty impressive. You didn't even know you were doing it (or did you? We'll never know.)
I was lucky enough to see you once, when you were in quarantine, on a field trip, but it made my whole trip to the aquarium a better one. Your life, and unfortunately (ironically)your illness, brought a new, welcomed awareness to this society that has been sorely needed and is long overdue. May your memory live long, and the fruits of labor to heal you be lessons that can only help the future of your species.
Beluga's are one of the many beautiful creatures of our world! Gasper will be truly missed. They always knew how to put a smile on everyone's face!
I enjoyed watching Gasper and will miss him when I visit the aquarium
We will miss you Gasper!!!
Misty and Martina Maloch
Love you and I will miss you.
Our young grandson enjoyed seeing you so much and we often sat and watched you. We will miss you and appreciate all your caretakers did to try to make you healthy.
Thank you to the Georgia Aquarium, they gave Gasper the best years of his life.....I think how much more he would have suffered if he has still been under the roller coaster.
Gasper was thankful for all of his caregivers. Everyone did the best they could...
Gasper, we will miss you. We all hoped against hope that you would get better but, too late to help a womderful creature of nature that made us smile and wonder at how beautiful nature can be and how awful some life experiences can also be. You are always with us in spirit. You are the spirit of the Georgia Aquarium.
I am sorry at the passing of Gasper. My husband Rich and I enjoyed watching him play the bubble game, He would make underwater bubble and catch them and swallow them again only to make more bubbles. I wish the 1st part of his life was as comfortable and loved as the last of his life., You will be greatly missed Gasper.
I never got to see you. But knew you was not well. You are now at Rainbow Bridge. A place God made for all animals, mammals etc to go. You are now at peace and healthy and suffering no more.
I'm from Atlanta, Georgia and make a point of visiting my home every year. My sister Ironia was at the grand opening and saw Gasper. She spoke so highly of the whales and has been keeping me up to day on his condition. My family (Joseph, Eron and Samantha) were down over the Christmas Holiday 2006 and it was our first time at the Aquarium. We loved the whales and are sad to hear of Gasper's passing. GOD Bless you Gasper.
Gasper will surely be missed. He won the hearts and affection of my family each time we visited the aquarium.
What an enchanting creature Gaspar was, one who truly appeared to enjoy his interactions with his admirers. I am saddened to learn of his passing but take comfort that he is swimming free, healthy and happy forever now. God speed, Gaspar, you are loved and will be sorely missed.
Gasper was such a beautiful Whale.
I'm happy he's not sick any more.
I am So sorry at Gasper's death. I never got a chance to visit him personally, but I cried when I heard about his death. I only hope he didn't suffer and was cared for in his last days.
Gasper, even though I did not get to visit you at the Aguarium in Atlanta..I am sure that all of God's creatures great and small all return to their home in heaven. You are home now with your creator and one day when I return home, we will both meet at The Crystal Sea. God Bless!
All staff and caregivers at Atlanta Aquarium..Thank you for all that you did for Gasper and thank you for the compassion and love in your hearts to not let Gasper suffer any more. God Bless!
I was very sad to hear that gasper had died. I really Loved him I enjoyed watching him play. and see that he was very gentle and loveing. I thank all of the people at the Ga aquarium for doing thier level best to try and save him.
I Love you Gasper
may you rest in peace.
We loved seeing Gasper and prayed often for his recovery. He was truly one of God's most beautiful creations. We understand the pain felt by the Aquarium staff, having had to make a similar decision about a family pet. We'd like to thank you for all that you did to make him happy and healthy in life, and for your continued compassion in his death. Be blessed!
Our family is saddened by the loss of Gasper. Your character will be forever blowing in Paradise. We will miss you.
I was one of the lucky ones who saw Gasper the day after he arrived at the Georgia Aquarium. He loved humans and showed it with his playfulness.
We will all will miss him.
Gasper you are a wonderful spirit that will never be forgotten. You are loved!
Gasper will be missed among all whom he came in contact with he was not just a whale he was a beluga whale!!!!!!!!!!!
God bless you, Tim Binder, Jeff Swanagan, and all the staff. You gave your all to help Gasper and had the mercy to let him go when it was time. My heart is breaking for you all. Gasper's story uplifted many people and sparked an interest in us to learn more about his species. Keep up your good work. We will all miss Gasper and his antics. Love and prayers to all the staff.
Gasper, the first time we laid eyes on you in November 2005, we knew you were the ultimate show-off and entertainer. Rest assured that your final days on Earth were not in vain. We look forward to the legacy you left behind and Godspeed to a peaceful eternity with your creator.
My thoughts are with you beautiful Gasper.
Gasper, You are a trooper. You put up a good fight. We will miss you. Swim happy and carefree from now on. Sincerely, The Bravermans from Fort Lauderdale, FL

God bless all the caregivers that were treating Gasper, he will be missed.
Rest in Peace and Thank you, Gasper
We are sad for ourselves for loosing you, but happy that you're no longer suffering.
The one thing that I look forward to each time we visit the aquarium is to stand on top of the broken ice (yes the first time I did reach down and touch it to see if the floor was wet) and watch one of the most beautiful creatures that God created. Gasper will be greatly missed by our family. I was so saddened by the news of his death. It is comforting to know that he died in a much better place and that he had a good life while living at the Georgia Aquarium.
You where the beautiful Beluga whale. And I am so sorry to here of your passing away.
And I hope that the staff and the volunteers will find another Beluga whale just like you Gasper.
PS, I know that all of you that run the Beluga Exhibit, will replace Gasper real soon.
I was deeply saddened today when I came to the Aquarium and learned that Gasper had passed. I was fortunate to watch him in two previous visits as he blew bubble rings. We loved you very much Gasper and will miss you greatly!
Every time I walked down Techwood from the Georgia Tech campus towards the Georgia Aquarium, I wondered how Gasper was doing that day. Now as I make that daily sojourn, my worries will be no more. Thank you, Aquarium Staff, for such marvelous care for a remarkable animal.
Gasper, you were definitely a favorite and I am sad. I enjoyed visiting the aquarium with my family and with my school. I am happy you are not hurting anymore. I hope to be a vet one day and work with whales and do the work your team did to care for you.
Meghan Lewis (10 years old - Wilson Creek Elementary)
It saddens me that Gasper did not have his luxurious, caring Atlanta home earlier in his life. He will truly be missed!
I think you were the best beluga whale out of all of the whales. You always had a smile on your face and I liked that a lot. You may have wanted to be here but it is better to be up in heaven as you are not suffering anymore. I will miss you.
Thanks for the joy in the short time we got to know you in Atlanta, Georgia. You were so adorable, and seemed so happy in your new home.
Thanks for the memories.....
It is so sad to hear of Gaspers passing even though we knew it was near. Our first visit to the aquarium found our family mesmerized by the beautiful giant and how happy and at home he felt entertaining his visitors. We didn't want to leave. I know his life was so much better thanks to the generosity of Mr. Marcus and the care and love he received from the staff. Thank you and God Bless everyone involved in the effort to save this gentle giant. Rest in peace Gasper.
You were the best beluga whale I ever saw! I hope you rest in peace and swim happily in heaven!!!
Gasper, my mommy and daddy and I miss you very much. I'll see you in my heart and dreams.

What a fabulous entertainer we have lost. I loved to stand and just watch Gasper play. He sure liked to ham it up for those of us lucky enough to get to see him in the short time he was with us. God bless all of you who loved and cared for him. Thank you for loving him enough to release him from him deteriorating body. His soul is free.
Gasper - You're dearly missed!
We wish that we had gotten the chance to see you, but know that you are in a much better place. We're glad that you lived your last days with those who loved and cared for you. You will always be remembered. Swim in sweet peace beautiful one!

Gasper, what an amazing journey you've had. My heart goes out to those who tended to you and loved you. You will be greatly missed by those who were blessed enough to have met you. Gasper will be missed I know that the great staff at the georgia aquarium did all they could for him
Gasper, we visited with you on day one and fell in love with you and your smile. The show you put on for us was unbelieveable. That smile really got us hooked. We know that you received all the love and attention that could be provided by everyone involved in your too short life. We recently lost one of our children, Casper the cat, and can understand what your worldwide family is now going through with your trip to whale heaven. We hope to see you there. Take care. We love and miss you. .
Gasper, you will be missed. I had hoped that a behind the scenes tour would let me see you one more time but that wasn't to be. You facinated me and all who saw you. I will remember you!
My family never got a chance to see you in person, but we loved looking at your pictures. Glad you're not suffering anymore. Rest in peace.

I spent a week in Atlanta last year and visited the aquarium everyday in part to watch your antics. I'm sorry you weren't able to enjoy your new life longer.
Gasper, you were the best part of our visits to the aquarium. My daughter Hannah and I will truly miss you. God bless all who tried to save him!
Like everyone else, I was very saddened to hear about Gasper. My heartfelt thanks to all who had anything to do with getting him to the aquarium and/or his care since that time. What a beautiful creature. So long friend.
I am glad that Gasper had a chance to see that not all people are uncaring and unfeeling before it was his time to leave this earth. I am sure that he knew that he was well loved and that everything that could possibly be done for him was done.
Farewell Gasper and I hope you are having a ball in the never ending oceans in Paradise. You will be missed.
Gasper, may you enjoy the bluest of oceans. And many thanks and kudos to the staff at the Georgia Aquarium.

You were serenity in the form of a beautiful animal.
You were always captivating to all who were lucky enough to spend time with you.
Your stay at the aquarium was short, but your stay in our hearts and in our minds will last forever!
*******May you be at peace*******
Our thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Marcus, the husbandry team, the volunteers and all other people who did their very best to help Gasper.
The decision that you had to make this morning was a very difficult one and a very sad one.
Yet this was ultimately a decision made of care and concern for the quality of life for a living being.
It was a pleasure to visit Gasper at a private event and stand in awe at the beauty of this animal with almost silence in the room.
What a beautiful addition to Atlanta.
Goodbye Gasper. You brought joy to many people

I actually had the pleasure of working at the aquarium. When I would come to work in the morning, I had to visit Gasper before I could start work. This was my favorite exhibit. I will miss Gasper.
So long Gasper, you will be missed.
I am very sad since Gasper died.
Dear Gasper, Our family cares for you. I hope you had a great time. I hope you had a great time living. We care about you.

We are so lucky to have been blessed with your presents...Watching you peacefully bob up and down washed away the troubles of everyday life. You looked at all of us like you knew us and with a wink you are gone. The world needs more Gaspers!
Gasper, I have been playing the soundtrack to "Free Willy" in your honor. Maybe MJ will show up at your service like James Brown. He loves animals.
What a wonderful gift Gasper was to the city of Atlanta. His smile will be missed. Gasper, you helped to teach us how to live and laugh and play, with a grace that will not be forgotten. Thank you, to the staff of the GA Aquarium, for helping this wonderful gift of God.
dearly departed and now set free Gasper. I could have watched you for hours. It was so magical and mesmerizing to see your seemingly smiling face and watch your graceful loops in the water.
Gasper you were a blessing on this earth, one of GODS creatures. Now you can be at peace and know that your last days on this earth were some of the best. You will be missed but always remembered. Kisses from The Roberts Family
Thanks to Mr. & Mrs Marcus for building the best thing to happen to Atlanta in a long time . To the people every where that try to ease suffering ,be it human or animal , you are doing GOD'S work . Lastly to Gasper , Thanks for Gracing Us with your company .Children of all ages will miss you .I will never forget the first time I saw you at the window
Gasper seemed so happy to be at the Georgia aquarium, blowing bubble rings and having eye contact with all who came to visit him. I am so glad to have seen him and will miss him in the visits to come.
My heart is sad but I know it was the best decision.Having been in your position with loved friends[our dogs],it is the hardest choice to let go.I and my grandchildren had the pleasure of visiting Gasper may times with pictures to cherish. Gasper will live in our hearts and memories.
Gasper was special. I will never forget when I took my ten year old neice to visit the aquarium. She has aspergers disorder which is a form of autism affecting social skills. She fell in love with Gasper as she watched him swim and play. She stood in front of the glass for a long time because she felt she made a friend, of which she does not have many. Gasper quickly became her favorite at the aquarium. She and I will never forget her bond with such a wonderful whale. We will miss him very much.
Gasper, I loved you from the first time I saw you! I actually stood before your exhibit and cried. You were so beautiful and always the perfect entertainer! I will miss you dearly!
I'm glad you at least had a good time while you were here.Thank you so much for sharing your happiness with everyone. We all will miss you.
Gasper will be missed by Atlanta. Thanks for letting us get to know him.
My heart goes out to all the caregivers that had to make this heartbreaking decision. God bless you for giving Gasper the best care he could be given during his last days on earth.
I remember our trip to the aquarium last year. I left knowing I had "played" with a Baluga Whale! You and I spent a good thirty minutes at the glass in the ballroom. You followed my camera every time I moved, you bumped noses and bellies with me! We had everyone watching and laughing. I was blessed to have had such an incredible experience.
You were truly the Baluga Ambassador to Georgia. Rest Easy pal.
Welcome Home Gasper...you will be missed by all of us
I hope you feel better and I am sorry you died. I hope you liked the card I gave you.
Justin (Age 8)
Gasper brought much joy to our family and we loved watching him entertain us. We thank the staff and Mr. Marcus and his wife for their love and care of this beautiful gift from God.
one of GODS precious creatures-will be sadly missed.
Casper you were the best fish. I love you and the panda and hope that you are in a zoo heaven for fish. I like how you swimmed and had a bald head like my daddy.
Farewell Gasper, we will miss you very much.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.
I am happy to have had a chance to have met this beloved whale during his first months here in Atlanta.I felt an odd relaxation watching them swim with such flowing motion and grace. I was able to capture beautiful photos of Gasper and the other whales. Now my photos are even more special as they are a sweet memory and memorial for a living creature that has taught us a lesson in life and humility.
"Watch over the rest of Gods' creatures Gasper, they all need an Angel like you."
Can't you just hear Steve Irwin greeting Gasper with a huge grin, "Oh, you're a beauty!" Rest in peace, beloved friend.
God speed Gasper....God speed.
Dear Gasper, I know I didn't meet you in person, you still are my friend I love Gasper.
Gasper you will be missed. May the vets learn from you to prevent this from happening to other whales.
Dear Gasper, Thank you for making me smile everytime I came to see you at the aquarium. I will miss you very very much.
Such a sweet and happy face. You always made people smile when they came to see you! Be well and have fun swimming in the clouds
We are so sad that Gasper is no longer with us, but we know that his last months on earth were filled with the incredible love and care given to him by the Aquarium staff. We salute the aquarium owners and staff for acquiring Gasper in an attempt to save his life, and will continue to support the aquarium in hopes that more beautiful sea creatures can come to this happy place to live.
Gasper, just know that millions of people loved watching you. You now have a gaurdian angel looking over you from now and forever on.
The first time I went to the Georgia Aquarium, I loved the beluga whales so much that I did my whole 1st grade report on beluga whales. I read as much as I could about beluga whales. God bless Gasper.
Poor Gasper and the valiant effort you made, and those who worked to try and make you better. Everyone was hopeful that Gasper would have a safe, healthy environment in which to live out his days. Now he can swim freely in God's special place because there is room in Heaven for all of us. God be with the ones who worked hard for him.
Swim on, darling Gasper! You fought hard and proud and boy did we enjoy the brief time we had with you. You always made me smile with your flips and blowing bubbles in front of the glass. I'm so happy to have pictures and video from my visits to the Aquarium to remember you by. You will never be forgotten!
I loved to watch you chomp on your bubbles, Gasper. How happy you always looked, despite your illness. We will all miss you and your cheerful spirit. I hope you are in comfort now, and that you knew how many smiles you brought to this world.
It is comforting to know Gaspar had the best and most compassionate care since leaving Mexico. His last days were certainly happier and better for him in Atlanta.
Gasper reminded us all of the importance of not taking anything for granted. He was a special role model, and may God bless him in Heaven. I sincerely hope the aquarium considers naming the Beluga exhibit "The Gasper Beluga Whale Area". Please tell the aquarium to honor this special creature that way!
I was so excited when the aquarium opened, although I'm 22 the day I visited I acted much like a kid who had never seen animals before. When I first saw the beluga whales i fell in love with them immediately and they were the reason why I bought season passes. I am sad to know that I will no longer see Gapser blow his bubbles, he was such a character. I did however get the chance to take a wonderful picture of him and his buddy. He is greatly missed.
Gasper was one of the most beautiful creatures on earth. Fortunately, he got to spend his last few months in a wonderful, loving place instead of under a roller coaster. God Bless Him
I visited the Georgia Aquarium when it was newly opened. The story of the Beluga Whales from Mexico City was most touching. I was sad for Gasper, but at the same time happy, knowing he had a wonderful new home to live out the rest of his days. May he always be remembered.
God speed Gasper.
We had the pleasure and honor of seeing your playful antics a half dozen times. You are the reason we will forever be annual pass members. We will miss you
To everyone at the Georgia Aquarium...please know how much Gasper will be missed. I have had the chance to visit the aquarium three times and each time I asked immediately about how Gasper was doing......I know that all of you loved him very much. Please know that Gasper will always be in my heart......I am so sad yet happy to know he is in a better place.
Gasper, you were a beautiful creature and for the short time you were on public view you were so loved and so entertaining with your ever present smile.
I have not seen you in person but, i know you were special and that you will be missed.
I am thankful you survived for a long time and people around the world will miss you.
My hearts go out to the Biologists, Vets, and husbandry teams that did their very best to try to pull Gasper through. I also know there were long hard hours away from your families just trying to give Gasper a chance at life. God Bless you all for everything you did, and do every day.
Thank you for loving Gasper and taking care of him during his last year. It's comforting to know that he had a better life and was in good hands at the end.
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Gaspar. I visited the aquarium for the first time this christmas when i was home for vacation. The beluga's were my favorite exhibit. So intelligent and graceful. I know he will be missed greatly.
We were so fortunate to have you in our state. You brought joy to thousands of visitors in your short time on exhibit. Thank you for your beautiful smile. I hope you're blowing bubble rings for the angels in heaven.
I know you are in a better place right now, but we will miss you terribly. You made all of us smile and we are sorry we could not do more for you. Know that you will always be in our hearts and prayers.
I will truly miss Gasper, My visits to the aquarium was mainly to see Gasper, such grace. Gasper's moves and spins were literaly, spiritual. His moves were always insinc with the background music..which made the atmosphere very calming, I loved to watch him. (RIP, many souls, were touched by you) in a soothing kind of way, he will be missed by me(a true aquatic fan and annual pass holder). cynthia harris of decatur Georgia
I love you. I will miss you. You made me smile when you were happy.
God bless such a wonderful creature. I have been an annual member since the beginning and had the pleasure to see Gasper 3 times in person and he was so friendly and outgoing with such a fun personality. Very sad. He will be remembered by so many.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
If there is a heaven for whales...Gasper swims now with the angels...free from all his earthly health problems. Although I have not had the opportunity to visit the aquarium to date, I had planned to this year, and am saddened to learn of this gentle giants passing.
My sincerest sympathies to all of you who had to make the very difficult, unselfish decision to release Gasper from his painful prison. Find peace in knowing he hurts no more. After visiting the Aquarium it is easy to see your only mission is to do the very best for the creatures in your care and to raise the awareness of all who visit so we do the same. Thank you for all you do. You are truly making a difference.
Dear Georgia Aquarium staff. My sincere condolences go out to all of you who worked so hard to save this beautiful spirit.
Gasper was brought to my attention before Christmas by a client. I work as an Animal Communicator and also send out energy healing (Reiki) to those who are in need.
Right away I posted Gasper's condition to a large group of Animal Reiki healers who also send healing energy to any who request it. The group is called Animal Reiki Source through yahoo groups. Gasper captured all of our hearts.
I had several communications with Gasper, his spirit was so wonderful but he knew his body would not recover the toxins and infection that had already taken it's toll.
Gasper does however want you all to know how much he loved you and how much he appreciated the care he was given. What you have learned from him will help you with any future or current beluga whales in your care.
Shortly after midnight as it turned into New Year's Eve in the wee hours after I had just conversed with Gasper, by a fluke, I turned on the TV right when PBS was showing a special about the Georgia Aquarium. It was such a gift to see Gasper as close to in person as I'd ever get. But I knew it was also a goodbye.
Gasper, you are now swimming free in the deep waters of the universe, as was your wish that you showed to me during one of our conversations.
Your huge heart full of love and knowledge for mankind is a gift to be cherished that will forever remain with those who cared for you as well as those who's lives you touched while in their care.
Gasper, you sweet boy. I will miss you. Swim on brother! Thank you to the Aquarium staff that worked so tirelessly and made the heartbreaking decision allowing Gasper to leave us with dignity and love.
My Husband and I have been members of the Aquarium since it first opened. Gasper had always been a joy to watch, he was our favorite attraction. Gasper will truly be missed. Rest in Peace Gasper!
Gasper touched my heart when he looked me in the eye like he knew me. I've followed the reports every few eeks on his condition ever since that first visit Jan 18th 2006.
I suppose its best that he died here where he could touch people the amazing way he did...and where he was loved and cared for. I miss him already.
Love you big guy..
Georgia Aquarium Staff: I have followed dear Gasper's story for many months! I got email updates almost daily at home here in Canada. I had hoped to maybe visit him one day. Know that you all made his life until the end "sweeter". He's not suffering anymore.....
The beluga whales are my favorite exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium mainly due to Gasper's unfailing friendliness. He was always right in front of the window, just as interested in us as we were in him. Rest in peace, you most beautiful of all God's creatures.
Gasper, you will be missed. I am grateful that I got a chance to see you while I lived in Georgia. God Bless!
To Gasper's Aquarium Family:
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to meet and get to know your Gasper. He was such a delight and the smile that he constantly displayed, touched so many hearts. The first visit my son and I made to the aquarium, we immediately feel in love with the Bulgas, but Gasper just won us over. We appreciate all the work and medical attention you gave this wonderful creation from God, he will no longer suffer and will be a guardian angel looking over the ones he loved.
He will always be in our hearts and he is the reason that were are members of the Aquarium.
The aquarium family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Carrie and Cameron Smith
Georgia Aquarium Staff - you all have our deepest sympathies. Thank you so much for making Gasper's last days so happy. Seeing him was one of the highlights of our visits to the aquarium. His delight in his new home and in seeing all the people was always evident - he was such a ham! We'll miss him.
I am very grateful that Gasper was able to live out his final year in such a wonderful place with so many loving caretakers. I visited the Aquarium four times last year and the beluga whales were a big reason why. Gasper will be sorely missed, but I am so glad he didn't have to suffer in his final days. Rest in peace our gentle friend, rest in peace.
Gasper was my favorite Whale at the GA aquarium. We have a picure of him as a screen saver on our computer. We miss him already but know that he got the best care in the world!!
Gasper...you will be missed by our whole family. We fell in love with you and will remember you always. Joe, Sarah, Paul and Karen
May God have a special place for you as we had for you here in Georgia.
I will never forget the first day I went to the aquarium. By the time I reached the beluga exhibit, I had seen most of the aquarium. It was such a thrill to see such a beautiful creature swimming so happily in its tank even though it was in pain. I loved watching it doing flips and blowing bubble rings at everyone else. He was my favorite part of the aquarium. I wish him well!
I am so sorry that you lost your battle with illness. I never met you in person, but now I can only assume that you are swimming in a better place. God bless you.
Unfortunately, on my one visit to the Aquarium, I did not see Gasper. He had been quarantined at that time. A couple of friends told me about all of the cool and wonderful little things he would do in front of the glass; as if he knew that people were watching him. It's sad that he is not with us anymore. I'm sure he will be missed!
Thanks to the staff that gave Gasper a better life for the time he was in Atlanta. Gasper went out with his boots on and is now at that Rainbow Bridge for whales. He has a smile on his face and is blowing bubbles. There is no pain and he is young and healthy.
I have followed Gasper since he got to the Georgia Aquarium and prayed for his recovery. I am saddened by his passing and was glad I had to opportunity to watch him swim so gracefully.
Though your stay with us was short you brought many smiles and much enjoyment to all the visitors. You will be greatly missed. Now your suffering is over and you are at peace.
So I'm crying over the death of a whale but this was no ordinary whale. Gasper was very special. I loved to watch him swim and my family hated to go with me because I wanted just to stand there the entire time and watch him swim. My prayers go out to the family at the aquarium. I know he touched your hearts too. Gasper, have fun swimming in Heaven!
I saw you twice...enough to love you. Rest in peace friend.
You will be missed, Gasper! You were a wonderful sight to see at the aquarium. Rest in peace!
You will be missed for sure. I have recently visited the aquarium twice in December and it just wasn't the same not seeing you. You were so cute and made the crowd so happy.
We loved watching you the first few visits to the Aquarium. Then my 6 yr old kept up and always asked how you were once you were off exhibit. We are sad. Still, the belugas are our favorite to watch.
Hello, I'm from Brazil but have been living in GA for about 5 years...Gasper has always been my favorite animal at The GA Aquarium...I'm very sad but sure that he's in a good place, swimming away in Heaven....Thanks Gasper for bringing so much hapinees to us!!! Love, Juliana Meneguetti Carter!
I had the fortune to move back to my home city and see you several times. We will miss your physical self, but we know you are much happier and comfortable now. Thank you for your short time here.
Thank you to the aquarium vets and staff for taking such good care of Atlanta's Gasper. My daughter, Kaylie, would sit at the tank for at least an hour at a time when we visited to watch Gasper play with his bubbles and interact with the guests. While she is sad that he has gone to beluga heaven she is happy to know he is no longer in pain. Gasper will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Thanks for all of your smiles -- we truly enjoyed seeing you on our visit to the Aquarium. You were our absolute favorite and will be missed!
We first got to see Gasper in November 2005. He was fond of the window looking out onto us 'humans' and I think he took as much pleasure wondering about us as we did about him. He was playful and curious at that time; my wife and I have a nice pictorial chronical of our early visits and he is easily identifiable in them. We mourn the loss of so gentle a creature but rejoice in the pleasure and awe he stirred in us. Thanks to the the Aquarium team for their efforts to save Gasper and our condolences on his passing. You have created an inquiring and caring audience; continue to nurture and educate us.
Even though I never saw you in person, I had read about your treatment, and I know the people who took care of you did all they could. You were a beautiful boy and you will be missed.
We are saddened by such a great loss. We are glad that Gasper had a happy and peaceful year here and that he was cared for by the best of the best. We appreciate the joy and beauty Gasper brought to us and the love and care he recieved. This brings us comfort now.
Peace to all.
The Morris Family
Gasper, I had such high hopes you would get well. You don't have to be sick any longer.
You are a hero. We loved you so much. You will be dearly missed.
You will certainly be missed, I really enjoyed watching the Beluga's @ the Aquarium. It was my most favorite. RIP
I live in Plano, Texas and was visiting Atlanta, Christmas, 2005. The highlight of my trip was seeing the graceful and beautiful Gasper. What a loss, he will be missed by so many! Swim freely dear Gasper.
Dear Georgia Aquarium Personnel: I know to you the loss of Gasper is much like losing a family member. He was the highlight of my 87 year old mom's visit to the aquarium. She traveled from Connecticut and was the one thing she wanted to do. I am very thankful she was able to enjoy him, having him smile at her, and giving all of us great joy. You all made his last months very memorable and worthwhile, and your efforts are greatly admired. Thank you all for sharing Gasper with us.
If people were as sweet as you were, the world would be a much better place.
You will always be in our hearts.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people who took care of Gasper during his illness. He will be missed.
I will never forget how cute you were. You will be missed. We hoped that you will recover, but we know that this is for the best. We will miss Gasper.
We will miss Gasper terribly, he was quite a joy to see for the short time we had him. He touched all of our hearts. Our condolences to his aqurium family who has lost him.
Baby Sniff and scootie will certainly miss seeing you at the aquarium. RIP, Gasper and Godspeed.

Gasper - Thanks for being such an inspiration to everyone both on land & sea. My unborn son & I use to come visit you all the time in anticipation of his arrival and in anticipation of seeing you. We're both glad you received such wonderful care and love from your family @ the Ga. Aquarium. You gave us such wonderful times and memories...May you swim in cool waters and sing your happy songs in Beluga heaven. Your memory will live on forever.. }}}}
It was a pleasant to get to see you in person. Rest in peace.
Gasper was one of the most beautiful creatures I had ever seen, and he will truly be missed. Blessings to all who brought Gasper to us and who worked diligently to try to extend his life at the Georgia Aquarium.
My family and I will miss you soo. You were a wonderful whale. Bless the ones that took care of you.
Gaspar, although I never got the chance to see you, I feel a great sadness with your passing. You were a beautiful animal; loved by all and I hope you are at peace. I know you received the best care possible at the Georgia Aquarium.
Gasper, I am deeply saddened by you passing & pray you are swimming in a better place. We will all miss your smiling face & bubbles.
I praise the courage of those with the compassion to release Gasper from his pain. It is a very hard decision made harder by the long battle over the past year to repair Gasper's health.
Gasper was joyous and playful when I met him March 2006. He clearly enjoyed being at the Georgia Aquarium with room to play and company. We will always remember his playful smile and showmanship.
I wish peace to those who made the tough decisions and took the very difficult actions. Be at peace.
Thank you Gasper - you made me smile!
I never really got to see you in person but kept up with you having seen your buddies at the Ga. Aquarium. I know we'll miss you but we are so glad you got to be with us, even if not for too long.
You were a delight! We enjoyed watching you and appreciate all the smiles that you gave to us and so many others. We know that your friends at the Ga. Aquarium did their best for you. We wanted to extend our condolences to your family who are morning your loss.
gasper you are my favoritebeluga whale and you will be missed
I used to stand in front of your pool for hours watching you blow bubbles and swim around. You were a beautiful, beautiful beluga. I'm sad to see you're gone.
While mourning his death, one can at least take comfort from the care he received since becoming "The Star " of the Georgia Aquarium. Though unable to cure him, they were certainly able to make the remaining time in his life one of comfort and joy. As the owner of a beloved pet myself, one can become very emotionally involved in the unique personalities of an animal, and their loss be traumatic. I feel for all involved and hope we can recover from this tragedy.
I was in Atlanta in July w/my boyfriend and son and didn't get to see Gasper. We had really hoped to see him. You are really gonna be missed, big guy!
Gasper you were wonderful--I will miss you greatly. Thanks to all involved for bringing him to Atlanta so we could share in the beauty of this special creature.
I am saddened by the loss of Gasper. It was a wonderful thing that the Georgia Aquarium did in trying to rehabilitate Gasper. I know it is a terrible loss. As a former educator of marine ecology, I believe that all of you at the Georgia Aquarium did your best to improve the quality of life of Gasper and the other beluga whales and to educate everyone about their plight and the lives of those magnificant creatures. Thank you for what you do.
Gasper was a special whale to me. I will miss him. I pray for the Gerogia Aquarium family because Gasper was special to me and I know he was very special to you all. I send you all my deepest sympathies. Know that Gasper lives in the hearts of ever person that loves him. I will never forget the times he winked at me and blew bubbles. I will never forget him.
Gasper, we will miss you very much .you made all of us happy. The Staff, tried to make you well. But Jesus, had another plane for you.Love you very much. This is coming from all your Fans from the state of Georgia.
You were a blessing for all of us.
You are a beautiful soul, so peaceful and friendly. You will always be
in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you!
Dear Gasper, Very beautiful Gesa Zoellinger, Very beautiful.
i will never forget the smiles you put on the kids faces. you will surly be missed. may you be swimming freely and pain free now.
My heart goes out to the staff at the Aquarium. I only knew of Gasper through the internet but he still brought a smile to me even in Missouri! I pray that the Georgia Aquarium can keep doing such great things for animals everywhere. Rest in peace Gasper.
Rest in peace Gasper. What a beautiful and magnificent creation of God you are. Our sympathies to your very dedicated caregivers. You brought us many smiles while watching you last Christmas holiday.
You made my first visit to the Aquarium memorable. I was mesmerized by your showmanship and how you interacted with your viewers. You have become a symbol of the humanity of our new Aquarium. Rest now....
We are thankful to have been able to see Gasper on exhibit. Even as bad as he felt,he always brought a smile to our faces. He was able to find out that there are people who really do care.
Most Unique experience meeting you I have ever had. Rest peaceful in Whale Heaven
I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Gasper. He was truly a beautiful creature. I have not yet made it to the aquarium but have followed the stories along the way of Gasper's rescue from Mexico City. He brought smiles to a lot of people around this country.
Gasper was the unofficial "spokeswhale" for the aquarium with his story of hardship and rescue. He serves as an example of how American society truly cares, and is willing to do what it can, not just for commercialism, but for the cause of doing the right thing.
You will be missed by your AJC friends in Dalton.
My sincerest condolences to Mr.Marcus, the veterinary and Georgia Aquarium staff for the loss of their very special guest, Gasper. I so much admire and want to thank everyone for their heroic efforts to save this special and fragile life. From the people involved in getting his rescue efforts on the way; all those that worked silently behind the scenes to make it happen; UPS for assisting with the the transport and everyone at the 4R program to raise awareness and public education for these precious creatures in need.
The unimaginable efforts you put forth to save Gasper, knowing the immesurable odds he was facing cannot really be put into words with the exception of quoting the following:
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." (Mahatma Gandhi)
Everyone involved in Gasper's rescue and rehabilitation efforts has shown the world that moral conduct in regards to all of God's creatures has no boundaries and I for one couldn't be prouder and more supportive of all your care, love and effort.
Viva Gasper !!! Siempre le recordaremos con alegria...
Be at peace, healthy and happy with God, and all the other creatures great and small.
The Medo Family
Rest in Peace Gasper...Rest in Peace. You will be missed.
Our hearts are broken, but we know you are in a better place, with no pain or suffering. Rest in peace, God be with you.
We are so sad to hear the news, but know that Gasper is with God in heaven!!!
how sad but atleast his last days were in comfort and we will not suffer anymore
We were so fortunate to actually get to see Gasper in person at one of first trips to the Georgia Aquarium. Thanks GA aquarium staff for being so dedicated to this whale, he will be missed...a beautiful whale...one of God's amazing creatures.
Even though I didn't get to see you in person, except on television or in newspapers. I was wanting so badly to see you when my husband and I visited in October. We will miss you terribly. But at least you are not suffering any more. God Speed Gasper.
God bless Gasper. I do believe there is a place for all of God's creatures and surely there is one for this magnificent animal. Thank you to all at the Georgia Aquarium who brought Gasper to us and those who took care of him with such love during his stay with us in Atlanta. May God bless you and comfort you in your loss.
What a wonder that such a creature could impact so many?! Gasper was beautiful and graceful. He managed to touch us individually through his smile and antics. Whenever one watched him, it was as if he was performing just for you. Gasper will be missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire. God Bless his aquarium care givers for the love they provided this graceful creature.

You were one of a kind and will be missed
Oh Gasper, My family and I were among the Aquarium's early morning visitors on opening day -- along with "The Today Show" crowd! You were so interested in "meeting" us, too -- gracefully swimming at the window -- up and then down, over and over again -- looking right into our eyes, and our hearts! We fell in love with you then, and visited with you several times since. We missed you on more recent visits, but kept you in our hearts and prayers. We will always love you and will remember how you introduced us to the sweetness of your Beluga Whale family. God Speed, Gasper!
I have a photo of you with a bubble you blew that looks like a halo. You truly touched my soul with your gentle, wise and beautiful nature. I'll miss you Gasper.
My family and I visited Gasper on January 1, 2006 and fell in love with him! Gasper, you will be missed and you will forever be in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace and God bless!!
To the staff of the aquarium, may you're memories of Gasper comfort you as it is for our family!
I'm sorry that you were never able to live a life in the wild where you belonged. You're in a much better place now. I will miss you, Gasper.
Thank You for all the smiles that you gave us. Rest in peace you beautiful creature !!
I was always so excited to see you, and I always loved your smile. I hope God takes care of you.
With deepest sympathies to all who had the pleasure of knowing Gasper and who dedicated their time, effort and energy to give this magnificent creature a chance at a healthy life.
You were by far the most entertaining spirit. Rest in peace knowing that you brought smiles to many faces. To the staff, have comfort in knowing that the presence of Gasper was deeply appreciated and brought much happiness to Atlanta.
Gasper, You and the other Belugas, with your ghostly white color and beaming faces, made an ethereal presence and impression on us all.
Great efforts were made to place you where you would be most comfortable and to heal your wounds and your souls. We were graced to have you with us. Thank you to the staff for all they did for you.
It was an honor to have seen Gasper and I'm so proud of my home town in providing him a wonderful place to live and be cared for in his final days. Many thanks to Bernie Marcus for bringing this wonderful facility to Atlanta and the world!
We are so glad that you were able to spend your last months in a better environment and that we and all of Atlanta were able to be a part of that. We will miss you!
We were deeply sadden by the loss of Gasper. He was truely a magnificent creature.
My deepest condolences to the Aquarium staff for their loss.
Rest in peace, Gasper. We love you. You are in a wonderful place now.
Gasper - We will miss seeing you when we come to visit on Saturday. You fought a good fight, had a wonderful place to live your last years, and you were much loved. We love you still.
Our family is very saddened by the news of Gasper. He will not suffer any more. Thanks to the staff for taking care of him and loving him. I know that it is a sad day at the aquarium. He came into our lives for a reason and I think for us he helped make us aware of Beluga whales and conditions that they face. The website really helped make Gasper a star in everyone's heart. We love you Gasper!
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. YOU TRULY WERE AN INSPRIRATION TO ALL OF US. MY HEART BROKE WHEN I HEARD THE NEWS. GOD SPEED.
Peace be with you Gasper, and praise and thanks to the wonderful staff who attempted to make his quality of life 100% again. Continue to do what you do best and know that Gasper is prosperious!
There is a place in Heaven for all of God's creatures. Gasper is truly home now with his creator as it should be. God bless everyone who worked to save him
Gasper was the first whale at the aquarium to make me smile. He taught everyone that finding courage to fight a disease is hard, but you can still do it while making others laugh and enjoy life. Rest in peace, Gasper. We'll miss you!
Rest in peace. You were a creation of God. Thank for bringing a smile in our life.
gasper i saw you one time but what a blessing you were. i hope now in JESUS hands you will be healed and swim all well in the waters of heaven. thanks for putting a smile on my face and in my heart.
The first time I ever saw a Beluga Whale was at the Mystic Aquarium in 2004, so when I heard that the Georgia Aquarium in my hometown of Atlanta was going to be getting two of its own I was absolutely thrilled. I was fortunate enough to be able to see Gasper once in December of 2005 (the second time I came back to the aquarium in April of 2006 he had just been taken off of exhibit) and have missed his presence the times I have been back to the aquarium since then, but felt good knowing he was around and was well cared for. Unfortunately now he is gone for good, but knowing that he is in the best place possible and that he won't be sick or hurt anymore makes me as happy as the first time I saw him. Gasper, you will truly be missed and my deepest sympathies go out to all of you who work at the Georgia Aquarium, but most especially those of you who worked with him everyday to try to make him better.
Gasper...You were beautiful!!! and in my memory you still are. I loved seeing you in Febuary 2006. So graceful, now you are in a better place, no suffering...Rest and swim in peace. Thanks to everyone that tried to make you better. You will be missed!
Gasper, we're sad that you died, but we hope that you're swimming with God in Heaven. We love you.
Thank you God for allowing Gasper to realize that not all humans are the same. The husbandry team caring for him showed him true devotion.
Gasper, you are now swimming in that sea in the sky, free of any pain. Keep smiling buddy.
I was always excited to see you. You always made me smile and giggle!
How very sad to hear this. My granddaughter Danielle is a hugh fan of Gasper and was just asking one of the volunteers at the tank about him this past Saturday during our visit to the aquarium. She carries her stuffed beluga whale with her whereever she goes. It is a sad day for Atlanta to lose such a delightful creature. We love you Gasper..you will always remain in our hearts.
Gasper, the friendly whale, may your spirit live on in the hearts and minds of all who witnessed your incredible beauty and grace!
I am so sorry for the loss of this wonderful animal! It was amazing to see how he seemed to make all of us come together rooting for him to get better. To the men and women who took care of him, THANK YOU! And I'm sorry for our loss!
My husband and I give our condolences to the staff of the Georgia Aquarium. You gave so much of yourself to this loved creature. May we all learn to treat animals with the respect, love, and attention to habitat that Gasper has taught us.
You were taken before youre tyme. It's not fare. I wish I could have see you one more tyme before you left us. I know you will be happy in that big ocaen in the skeye. Please rememmbers the tymes you had hear and blown some of bubbles in the clowds for us. Miss you alott!
Gasper you will be dearly missed. Thank you Mr. Marcus for all you did to try and save Gasper's life.
Gasper, you will be missed. Thank you for your smile and the happiness you brought to those who visited the Georgia Aquarium. You will always be remembered and loved.
Poor Gasper! We will miss him. I hope he had a good time at the aquarium.Thank you to the people who tried to help him.
You were greatly loved by so many, and will be missed by even more.
My husband and I have visited the aquarium several times and always enjoyed watching Gasper. We have followed his progress from the beginning. It saddens us to know that he is no longer here but will always remember his smile as he swam by the window. We want to thank everyone who worked so hard to save his life and we know what happiness he brought into your life as he did ours. He is in a better place now and will suffer no more.
Oh, Gasper. So many will miss the beauty and delightful times you gave us. You were a favorite of so many of us. Thank you Billie and Bernie for this wonderful gift and thank you to all the caregivers for your kindness to Gasper.
My grandchildren, Ethan, Lucy, Allison, and Isabella Reish will
always hold a special memory of you
Gasper. As will all of us.
Swim away, swim away to a better place. I loved watching you swim. I will never forget the smile you brought to my face. Then you smiled back at me. One day we will see each other again! Loves and kisses my sweetie!
I am sorry to hear that Gasper the whale died. He will be in are hearts forever.
I'm sad he didn't live longer! Thanks to the people who tried to save him.
We will all miss you so much Gasper but you are at peace now and no longer in pain. You showed everyone your wonderful smile and have no idea how that smile made me feel better each time I saw it. We love you Gasper!
I'm sorry I never got to see you in person, but I followed your story. Be at peace now and know that you had the best of care in your final days. Much love always.
I was so fortunate to have seen Gasper when the Aquarium opened last November. He was my favorite with his big happy smile and playful acrobics - he charmed us all. He will be missed by all of his adoring fans. May he rest in Whale Heaven.
Gasper, I will never forget you. My first visit to the aquarium you were showing off and having such a grand time playing. Your grace in movement was astonishing. You will always be remembered.
May you have peaceful cold waters to play in from here on out, and a life of pain-free playing in eternity.
Rest well my friend...
My family, especially our 4 year old,LOVED this whale. We cherished this whale and prayed so hard for the recovery but it was not meant to be. We will miss you! thanks for swimming by and smiling at our daughter, she was always thrilled.
Gasper will be missed, but He was loved while he was here. He at least knew the tender touch and care that the people gave to him during his last few months. I do believe he is smiling down and saying to others that He was Happy and Knew Love for the first time in his life.
I'm so thankful we had the opportunity to know you. God speed Gasper.
Truly a white pearl of the ocean. May god bring you back home to enjoy the oceans of your birth
I've been a volunteer at the Aquarium for quite some time. I knew this day was coming, but I was hoping for some sort of miracle. I admit I cried when I read that the day had come. Gasper was spunky right up to the end. I cannot recall a time I volunteered when I wasn't asked several times how he was doing. I was told many times that they were praying for him. Gasper received get-well wishes from all over the world - he was loved and will be missed considerably.
My concern now is over the other Belugas, and how they will miss Gasper. Even though he was off exhibit, they still had constant interaction with him.
I hope the Aquarium comes up with a proper memorial for him. Although he was only on 'display' for the public to view for six months or so, he was a major part of the spirit of the Georgia Aquarium. He deserves a fitting acknowledgment.

Baby beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free,
Heaven above and the sea below,
And a little white whale on the go.
Baby beluga, baby beluga,
Is the water warm?
Is your mama home,
With you, so happy.
Way down yonder where the dolphins play,
Where you dive and splash all day,
Waves roll in and the waves roll out,
See the water squirtin' out of your spout.
Baby beluga, oh baby beluga,
Sing your little song,
Sing for all your friends,
We like to hear you.
When it's dark, and you're home and fed,
Curl up snug in your water bed.
Moon is shining and the stars are out,
Good night, little whale, good night.
Baby beluga, baby beluga,
With tomorrow's sun, another day's begun,
You'll soon be waking.
Baby beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free.
Heaven above and the sea below,
And a little white whale on the go.
You're just a little white whale on the go.

The beauty and joy you brought to all who visited you enriched our lives and fortified the connection that all of life has.
I didn't get the chance to meet Gasper, but what a beauty of a whale he was!(He looked just like me! HA! HA!)
Thank you Gasper for showing us that beauty and grace comes in all sizes and shapes. And thank you for sharing a part of your life with us. Peace to you now.
I miss you and really liked you. You were the first beluga whale I ever saw. I liked your smile, you always made me smile.
Such sad news to begin a New Year. Gasper touched all of us in some way-whether visiting him personally or reading of his plight and especially by the caregivers who daily championed his survival. I think we all feel your compassionate pain. One always hopes for that spark of a miracle, but perhaps the miracle is simply Gaspers story itself and the knowledge that somehow from his tragic loss will come a heightened awareness and research into these beautiful, loving and entertaining creatures. Condolences to all at the Georgia Aquarium.
Blessings to all who attempted to save this beautiful animal. He is in his Creator's hands now.
Gasper you will truly be missed! May you rest and swim in peace! I will miss that smile of yours, you certainly brightened my February Day. Thank you as well to all of the people who worked so tirelessly to save our beloved Gasper!
Rest in peace, Gasper. We love you. You are in a wonderful place now and thanks to the Georgia Aquarium for all their love and care.
Gasper was the sweetest of all because he realized how lucky he was to be with those that loved him so.
My deepest condolences to the Aquarium staff for their loss. I admire their extraordinary abilities and efforts in rehabilitating Gasper and their courage in deciding it was time to let go. They faced immeasurable odds due to his previous habitat and it is to their credit that he survived at all. Though some say it is not good to name and personalize animals in captivity, I am grateful for the opportunity to have "known" Gasper and I will miss him very much.
I am greatly saddened by the loss of Gasper. Gasper was an amazing and wonderful whale to watch. At least he was fortunate to have a dedecated group of doctors, employee's, and volunteer's to care for him. Swim on my friend into the ever after. We will miss you greatly.
I never got to see Gasper, but I know that when he was rescued he came to a better place and is again in another better place. I followed his treatment by e-mail. He was the "Willy B." of the wet world.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.
It is so sad, but I know that Gasper is better off swimming in heaven!
Thank you, Gasper, for having brought each of us the joy of meeting you. You have touched countless lives and will be remembered by all.
Gasper, you were always so peaceful and funny. You always made my days bright. You were one of the best animals in the whole aquarium. We will really miss you.
my condolences to those who so vainly tried to get Gasper well - I
saw him and he was truly very special - he liked everyone greeting one and all with his unique personality - he will be sorely missed by one and all
Gasper, I will really miss you. You were my favorite Beluga whale in the whole Aquarium. You were the best! Love,

So sorry to hear of Gaspers passing. We love the Beluga whales. "its so sad" says my 2 year old.
I was heartboken when I saw the sentence Gasper had died. My mom was looking through the website. I was sad. Now he is probably in heaven playing with all the other belugas.
Gasper, I loved watching you. You always had a smile on your face, as if to say "today will be filled with rainbows and sunshine". I only saw you once, but you brightened my day. Rest in peace, Gasper.
Gasper, we will miss and always remember you! The first time we saw you a year ago, you appeared so happy and in a much better place than your previous home. We are sad that you only had a short time to enjoy it - long live the memory of Gasper!
YOU WERE A GOOD FRIEND TO ALL THE CREATURES OF THE SEA, AND YOU WERE A GREAT AMBASSADOR FOR THE CITY OF ATLANTA! YOU WERE LOVED AND WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO HAD THE PLEASURE OF SEEING YOU! YOU TOUCHED MANY LIVES AND MANY HEARTS! WE KNOW THAT YOU AND WILLIE B ARE WATCHING OVER US NOW FROM ANIMAL HEAVEN!
We will miss seeing your beautiful face, Gasper.

You left us too soon. We loved you the 1st time we saw that smiling face. You had a better life in Atlanta. Gasper will be miss.

We are so sorry to hear the loss of Gasper the Whale. He will be greatly missed in ATL.
One of my favorite things to do at the Georgia Aquarium was to sit and watch the elegant ballet of the Beluga Whales. My granddaughters were always delighted to see everything at the aquarium, but they too loved the whales. It saddens us to lose Gasper and we will miss him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
I'll miss you. Rest in peace. Bless you, the caregivers, you deserve SO much credit.

I HAVE WATCHED YOU ONLINE SINCE THE BEGINNING AND PRAYED FOR YOU TO RECOVER. I WILL MISS YOUR SMILING FACE!! BLESS YOU, MY HAPPY FRIEND.
Gasper was my favorite beluga. He may have been one of five others in the aquarium, but I always looked for him first or asked about how he was doing when he was removed from the exhibit. He will be greatly missed by our family.
I want to thank Bernie Marcus, his wife, and all of the staff at the Georgia Aquarium for giving Gasper a chance to get well and to enjoy the last year of his life. I had the privilege of seeing him once and was immediately hypnotized by his playful, curious spirit. Gasper, you were well loved, my friend. Have a glorious life in Heaven.
Rest and swim in peace Gasper! Thank You for your smile and time with us in Atlanta, I enjoyed seeing you in February and watching you blow your bubbles...YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!! Thanks also to the team that cared for him the past months!
Gasper, You were the best whale, ever! If there is a whale heaven, you should be admitted. Love, Greggie Poo

Oh my, such a great loss for the aquarium and the people of Atlanta. He'll be sadly missed.
We had the privelege of enjoying Gasper with his fellow beluga whales at the aquarium. He was very fun and entertaining to watch. He will be missed at future visits. Thank you to the staff the worked so hard to treat his illness. The Beluga whales are our favorite tank at the aquarium. Our prayers are with Gasper and your staff.
You were an inspiration to us all!!!!
I was priveledged to see Gasper when he was still on exhibit. I am saddened by his passing. But as a person who has actually interacted with belugas in the past, I'm thankful that such an intelligent and peaceful creature will no longer have to suffer.
Gasper, ever since the first time I saw you, I loved you, you were the most fun to watch, and the funniest of all the whales. I will miss you deeply, but as long as you are not suffering I'm happy.
Gasper was very exiting to watch.Me and my brothers Nick, and Spencer will miss this well loved Gasper the whale!
Love You GASPER
Rest in Peace Gasper! Know that you were loved very much, and will be missed!

I am going to miss seeing Gasper being so playful, blowing circles underwater and trying to eat them. A special thanks to everyone that attending to his every need.
Thank you to the wonderful team of vets and caregivers who did EVERYTHING they could for this sweet creature. We will miss him, but are comforted by knowing he had the loving, professional care to the end.
Dear Lord, please give those of us the strength we need at this time. Gasper was made by you and now he has returned. We will miss Gasper because he was a gentle creature who loved to be loved. To all of Gasper's caregivers. You all shall be blessed. Thank you for the loving and tender care you showed Gasper. I am sure he appreciated it. I certainly no I did. My heart is hurting right now as I learned of Gasper's passing. I loved Gasper. Now he does not have to hurt any longer, for that I am grateful. It still doesn't lessen my hurt. Gasper, you will certainly be missed. I love you.
Te conoci en el momento en que ahun eras parte del AQ. mucha gente y yo aprecio y admiro tu belleza natural,Ahora descanza en paz pequeno te queremos mucho.
Good bye Gasper. We all love you a lot.
Gasper was a beautiful, gentle creature that will be greatly missed at the aquarium.
May Gasper rest in peace.
I miss you Gasper, you where the best!
THANK YOU GASPER FOR SHARING YOUR TIME WITH US.
Gasper may you rest in peace. As you will be missed by so may people that love you. You will be a legand to all.
I've only seen pictures of Gasper, but his playful personality comes through even in photographs, and I smile every time I see him. I'm so glad he was able to spend his last year as comfortably as possible in Atlanta, in the company of Nico and the three ladies. I know he received the best veterinary care and was let go when it was time. Aquarium personnel and Atlanta citizens have my deepest sympathy for the loss of their beloved beluga. Wherever Gasper is, he's still blowing bubbles to you!
Gasper will be truly missed. Everytime I saw a picture of him, he made me smile. He seemed to have such a sweet personality. His presence will be truly missed.
Our children kept asking about Gasper and often prayed for him. What an amazing creature and we enjoyed viewing you at the GA Aquarium.
Gasper was the main reason I went to the aquarium. His smile and water "ballet" will be missed.
What a spectacular life - one that will be missed by your family here in Atlanta. We didn't get to visit with you as often as we would have liked, but you were always in our thoughts. God rest your precious soul.
I was saddened to hear about Gasper, but I know he is in a better place now and no longer suffering. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to see him. I'll always remember his cute smile and playfulness.
This is a sad day for the Georgia Aquarium. Gasper was a joy to watch whenever I went to the Aquarium. I just hope that the other Beluga Whales can continue to thrive in their exhibit. Best wishes to all who may have touched Gaspers life.
I am sadded by the loss of Gasper. I visited the Aquarium on yesterday, and thought about him.
He will be missed
It's good to see you touched so many hearts and brought the conservation message to many more. You will be missed. The other whales don't spend the time at the viewing glass like you did. Seems you had more of a connection with people.
We will miss you Gasper. You are free to swim.
Although we are sad that Gasper has passed on, I'm so glad that he had the opportunity to live the last part of his life in the dedicated care of the professionals at the Georgia Aquarium, and that we had the opportunity to share his gift if only for a glimpse.
We spent hours with him from opening day until he was secluded and will always remember his smile.
Thank you, Gasper, for enriching our lives. Rest in peace!!
You will be missed Gasper. Since the opening of the Aquarium I have been in love with your charm and such beauty. I am so sorry that I was not able to personally welcome you to our city. I am happy to hear that your time in Atlanta were the best times for you.
Our family will miss Gasper and send our sincere condolences to all of you who cared for him. He was truly sweet and soulful. The day we first saw him, he was particularly focused on entertaining several little ones sitting on the viewing area floor with his antics. After a trick, he would go up for a deep breath and then would swim down and place his cheek next to each child's face on the other side of the tank. He did this many times, and he captured all of our hearts that day!
You looked at me with your playful smile and I knew love that transcends the species. I will miss you and wish you well on your new journey.
Gasper made you smile. I could watch him for hours. He is going to be greatly missed.
I love you. I'll miss you very much.
Your smiling face brightened our day the first time we saw you! Gasper, you will truly be missed!
We are so saddened to lose our Gasper but very thankful the Acquarium took such good care of him while he was in Atlanta. He will always be remembered and missed.
What a sweet boy he was. Many thanks and deepest sympathy to those who gave him such wonderful, loving care. Our thoughts are with you, too.
Rest in Peace Gasper, sorry for the lost you will be well missed. The McClendon Family (Joshua,Octavia, Benjamin,Jeremiah, Tim)
Our sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff who worked so tirelessly to save Gasper. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Marcus for bringing him to us so that we could enjoy his unique personality and learn more about these beautiful creatures. He is now swimming freely in heaven and smiling down on everyone.
Gasper will be missed by many. He had a great smile and an even greater heart. He really seemed to love people and communicating to them. We enjoyed visiting the Aquarium and the Beluga Whales were always our favorite. Blessings, Gasper!! We will miss you!
My son had the human type of the problem so I know on a human stand point of the pain you went though and I know you had the best of the best care there. My son is 11 now and he feels so bad that you couldn't have beat this thing too. So go and Rest in Peace. Knowing you were loved by many all around the world.
Anyone who saw Gasper immediately loved him. He was a true ambassador and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the staff during this difficult time. Goodbye, dear bubble-blowing friend!
I am glad I had the opportunity to have seen Casper. What a beautiful, amazing animal!
I am so sorry to hear of gaspers passing. I have been following this story for months, hoping he would make a recovery. He certainly touched the hearts of so many, rest in peace gasper
What amazing and fascinating mammals these whales are. While Gasper is a great loss for the aquarium and all associated, we hope that much was learned so that others who might become ill in the future may be saved. There probably isn't a place with better care.
I was there just last week with my cousins and enjoyed seeing him and the other Belugas. We will surely miss him!
Gasper was amazing! I will always remember seeing him blow rings of bubbles and then pop them with his nose. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to "meet" him.
For those who worked so hard to save him, thank you! I am sure that his last days were peaceful and comfortable in your care.
My condolences to the Aquarium staff. You are to be commended for saving Gasper from suffering at the Mexican amusement park and making the last year of his life more humane. He had an impact on all of us who saw him at the Aquarium.
I was just recently at the aquarium in mid-December 2006 for my first visit after becoming a member, and was by far the most impressed and taken by the personable, playful and friendly Beluga Whales. Little did I know that the one who impressed the most, who rubbed up against the glass where I stood, and rolled on his back like he wanted his belly rubbed, was the beloved Gasper. He made his indelible mark on me, and now I know why and that he was so loved. I was honored to have shared those moments with him, as I am sure he did with countless other visitors, as if they were his long best friends. Let's help him to leave a permanent mark on the place he loved, and that loved him back, that he and Bernie Marcus helped to build into a cherished Atlanta institution, thankful that he at last had found a home where he could rest at peace.
I will miss your smile and charming personality. Thank you to all who provided the love and care for this wonderful whale.
When I first saw you I could swear you were smiling just at me and blowing bubbles and playing with those pretty blue eyes. You were a real charmer Gasper. R.I.P.
Gasper no more suffering, you are in the glory ocean. I smile for you!
God Bless Gasper! Thank you for the joy you brought to our lives. May you RIP!
Gasper was a cute, sweet, and endearing whale. I am glad I got a chance to see him before leaving Atlanta. He will be missed!
Gasper, we will miss you. Rest in peace my friend.
We will miss you Gasper.Bless you for living as strong as you did as sick as you were, with such personality. I am grateful that I was able to experience your presence for as long as we did. Each time we visit, I will remember you with love.
On December 1st of 2005 we entered the beluga whale exhibit and the both of us were plastered to the glass window like two little kids watching the beloved Gasper swish by and gaze at us with his adorable eyes. I'm not sure who entertained who, but we felt as though we had walked into the beluga’s world for a small while. That was phenomenal in itself! We could see the visible skin lesions and our hearts went out to Gasper and all the belugas. He will be missed.
We are annual pass members for the second year; our gift to the memory of Gasper.
Zack and Marilyn Irick
Gasper will be missed. Thank you for taking care of him. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and the staff.
Gasper definitely brought a smile to my face every time I saw him. I'll miss him.
With tears in our eyes we are so sad to hear the news about Gasper. We will continue to strongly support the 4R program because we believe in its mission. Gasper had such a horrible quality of life before his arrival in Atlanta. We find comfort in knowing that he received the finest care in the world and was given the greatest opportunity to thrive at the Georgia Aquarium. We will treasure our photos of him and memories of his sweet face.
I want to extend my sympathies and thanks to the vets and staff at the Ga. Aquarium for their heroic efforts in trying to cure, and ultimately just to save, Gasper. Thank you for making his short life in Georgia so very meaningful and happy. My husband and I are comforted in the knowledge that he is now frolicking pain free in clear blue, cold, fish-filled waters with his ancestors. Thank you for all you did.
Gasper, your swam with such grace. We will certainly miss seeing you, but are glad to know that you're no longer in pain.
I was hoping that you would get better, you were so loving, and happy.
May you rest in peace.
Pauline W. Ware.
Thank you to the staff for not letting Gasper suffer. He was well taken care of and I enjoyed seeing him last year when I visited Atlanta. God bless!
Gaspar was a special Ambassador for the Georgia Aquarium. We loved him and will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers go to those who cared for him.
May you rest in peace dear friend. We will miss your smile and playful demeaner. You touched many hearts and brought smiles to many children. The aquarium will miss your presence.
Gasper I was sooooo hoping you would get better. I'm really saddened to see you go, but its comforting to know you are having fun in the big open sea in heaven. I will see you again in my dreams……
Our family sends its condolences to Mr. Marcus and his wonderful staff at the Georgia Acquarium on the loss of Gasper. We appreciate the heroic efforts at trying to save this noble creature from the very moment he arrived in Atlanta. We cannot help but feel that his last few years were made more comfortable by the devotion of the people who nurtured and cared for him .
I'll miss you, Gasper. I liked you a lot. I have a toy beluga from the Georgia Aquarium store. From, Andrew (age 5).
My family will miss you, Gasper. You were such a nice beluga. From, Peter (age 8).
You will be missed. Rest in Peace.
This is very sad news. Sorry that this happened. We will miss you dearly. Rest in Peace. Have fun in Beluga heaven!
My daughters and I had the pleasure of seeing Gasper January 2006. We stood there for quite some time and found a sense of peace from watching Gasper entertain the crowd. Gasper was the "James Brown" of the Ga. aquarium and will, like James, be remembered always.
God's speed, Gasper! Swim free!
I am sorry you have been sick here on earth. I am confident your caretakers did everything they could to save you. I know you are much happier now - swimming free! You were loved and will be missed!
God Bless you Gasper. May you rest in peace.
I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to see you last year. What a beautiful guy! Though sad, I know you'll hurt no more. We will ALL miss you fella!
My heart broke this morning when I heard about Gasper. Beginning with my first visit to the Aquarium last year, the Belugas were always the highlight for me and Gasper was my favorite. It was clear that he was the entertainer and loved all the attention; staying close to the glass and communicating with his fans. It seemed as though he could almost talk to you by the way he looked and moved. During my last visit this fall, the exhibit was clearly not the same in his absence. Gasper was a unique soul and he will be missed greatly.
Gasper touched everyone with his beauty and sweet nature. What a wonderful gift! We'll miss you, Gasper.
Wow, what an amazing, gentle and affectionate animal. Gasper will be missed by my me so much! I purchased seasons passes for my whole family last Christmas and we visited alot! I would come up to the glass and become intranced by him. I found it very difficult to leave from watching him. He would come right up to the glass and blow those bubbles. He was always interested in seeing us on the other side of the glass. Especially, one little boy about 3 years old. Gasper came down and straightened up and put his nose to the glass right next to me where the little boy was standing. It was so incredible sweet and touching. I will never forget it!
Much love and happiness in heaven!!!
Rest in Peace Gasper, we love you !!! You are truly free !
What a joy to have seen Gasper!! We will miss him terribily.
Gasper brought lots of enjoyment in his short term tenure at the GA Aquarium...I'm glad his last year was spend with lots of love and attention by staff and people who visited with him....Gaspard will be missed...:)
Thank you Zoo Atlanta for bringing Gasper to us. You gave many of us the oportunity to view one of God's most beautiful and unique creations. Gasper your beauty and your smile will always be remembered. No more pain, no more stuggles. Captive no longer - Free To Roam. You'll always live in our hearts!
I so much enjoyed watching Gasper "flirt" with a tiny girl at the big window one day. I miss his playful presence, but am grateful he is no longer suffering. My respects to the many caregivers who tried so hard.
I am sorry for this loss but know that Gasper is in a better place and no longer suffering. I will truly miss seeing his beauty and grace and love of people that was showed.
To Mr. Marcus & The Georgia Aquarium Family, My deepest heartfelt synpathies go out to each of you. You each give so tirelessly on a daily basis and we greatly appreciate your dedication. Gasper will be sorely missed. But I am sure his spirit will live on in the each of us who had the great opportunity of seeing him smiling in his new home. That memory will always come to mind when I hear his name. May Gasper swim freely in the blue sky of heaven above. Rest in peace.
You were a blessing. Rest well Gasper...
Thank you Billi & Bernie Marcus for bringing Gasper to Atlanta! What an experience their gift afforded us. Thank you to the Acquarium staff who worked tirelessly to care for him. Gasper & companions opened an entirely new world for us!
Gasper was the star of the aquarium! He seemed to enjoy us as much as we did him. Thoughts and prayers to his caretakers!
Sad to hear of your untimly passing. You now join my Mother and Father in Paradise in that aquarium in the sky.You gave us a real treat and Thanks.

I Love you Gasper and me and my family will miss you and your aquarium staff will miss you too.
RIP Buddy Kelly and I will miss you.
You all put up a courageous fight..My best to all who cared for Gasper...may he rest in peace..KMG Tampa
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
Thanks to the team at The Georgia Aquarium for giving Gasper joy and peace in his last days.
Gasper was the first animal I met at the Georgia Aquarium. From him I learned that a marine creature can possess intelligence, intuition, and the ability to extend kindness to others. What else would we expect from one with "a heart as big as a whale?" Our continued support of ocean conservation is a fitting legacy representing his extraordinary life.
You are my favorite whale, Gasper. I love you.
We are saddened indeed to hear about the passing of Gasper. May he rest in peace.
Gasper was a beautiful and sweet animal. I'm grateful that I got to see him in October. Thank you to the wonderful Aquarium staff for doing everything possible to make Gasper's life better.
Gasper, you are very loved by our family because you are so special and unique. You always made us feel like you were playing only with us like we were all bestfriends. We instantly fell in love with you when we visited you before the Aquarium officially opened. We came on the last day in 2006 to visit you in hopes that you were improving. The news today saddened us and struck our hearts for we feel that we have lost a very dear friend. We love you and will always carry your playfulness spirit in our hearts. May you rest in peace.
Gasper, you will be truly missed. Although, we hadn't yet visited the Aquarium, we visited the website several times. We were highly anticipating our chance to see you on our visit to Atlanta this summer.
Gasper, thank you for the time you shared with us and you will be greatly missed.
The hardest part of having pets is knowing someday we have to let them go--but--it is made easier knowing we shared a bond with them & there were happy moments shared. Though his life with us was brief he touched us and left memories we will always treasure.
May he rest in peace wherever he is
God Bless You, Gasper. It was a treat and pleasure to see you and your smiling face during the opening of the Georgia Aquarium. You are no longer in pain. You will be missed.
Your smile and friendlyness will be missed by all.
Gasper brought joy to the people of Atlanta. His life and spirit of joy will be remembered.
You were such a happy little guy and made others feel the same. I know you're in a much better place now...still swimming and blowing bubbles.
Gasper, you will be missed. I am glad you won't be suffering anymore though.
God bless everyone who tried to save that wonderful animal.
Dear Gasper, We will miss you very much! I hope that wherever you are you are happy. We love you
YOU WILL BE TRULY MISSED AND LOVED AND YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
It's sad to loose a friend.
I loved this whale! I'm so sorry to learn that he has lost his fight.
What a loss for the aquarium and for the animal world. Gasper was a lovely creature, and I consider myself lucky that I had a chance to see him.
It seems strange to sign a guest book for an animal, but Gasper definitely brought joy to my wife and I on our visit. We were there the first Friday the aquarium opened, and you seemed so happy to be able to interact with people. For the trainers and workers at the aquarium, we all feel you loss. You have lost a friend, but never lose the memories.
You won all our hearts...we will carry you with us in our thoughts always...you made us smile, you made us care, you've made missing you real hard. God speed old friend.
Though we never saw Gasper, we followed his progress closely. We're saddened by Gasper's passing.
Gasper, we're sure you'll watch over your pals at the aquarium.
Gasper, We will miss your "smile".
I so glad I got to see your smile and watch you playing with the children.
The GA Aquarium, by acquiring a less than perfect animal, gave Gasper a terrific final chapter of his life. His life would have not been as long or as pleasant if he had been left in Mexico.
My heart is saddened, but I would have chosen to know his fun playful way and winning smile and then lost him, than to have never known him at all.
I am really going to miss you, Gasper. You were my favorite Beluga whale. I will always remember you.
Bless Gasper. He passed with dignity in the presence of those who loved him. Thank you to the team that made his final days as comfortable as possible. He made us all be thankful for family, friends and those we love.
I never got to meet Gasper but i was following his condition he he has touched lots of people. It so sad that he is gone but he is in a better place. My thoughts and prayers go out to the GA aquarium staff.
We are glad that you are not suffering anymore and are out of the pain. Will miss seeing you.
I love you Gasper and am thankful I was able to see your grace and beauty. I wish your life could have been better.
We enjoyed visiting and watching Gasper give great pleasure to all who saw him! It is a sad day in Atlanta and all over the Aquarium world with his loss!
You were loved. Go in peace.
My husband and I were furtunate to meet Gasper when he was on display. He seemed to enjoy us as much as we enjoyed seeing him swim right in front of our faces. Thanks for the tender loving care you gave him to the end...
I am so saddened to hear of Casper's death. My thoughts and prayers are with his caretakers.
We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Gasper, he touched our hearts the first time we visited in Nov. 05. He was a true performer for the short time he was on stage at the Aquarium and will never be forgotten by our family.
Last year I took my then two year old daughter to see the whales for the first time. She was enthralled with all of them. She was very excited to see Gasper make bubbles, since that was one of her favorite things to do also. Before leaving the aquarium I let her pick out something from the gift shop. The only thing she wanted was a beluga whale. She still sleeps with it today. Gasper will be truly missed.
I'm so grateful that our family became members as soon as we heard our city was going to have this amazing aquarium and we were fortunate enough to see Gasper on several occassions and have wonderful photos for our memories. Our city is even better because of Mr. Marcus and his generosity that blessed us with this facility. Goodbye Gasper - we will always remember you.
This is so sad. We all had such hopes that Gasper would get better. He will be missed!
I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Gasper. I am glad that I got to see Gasper in his new element and happy before this peaceful ending to his life.
My daughter, who is currently 6, and I will dearly miss Gasper. She and I both found ourselves drawn to watching him when we visited the aquarium. She had never seen a "real live whale" before, and she was astounded. The aquarium won't be the same without his beautiful presence. We know he has gone to a place where he can swim freely without any pain. Thank you for allowing us to share in the life of this wonderful creature.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Gasper was a special part of the community at the aquarium. He was among the first inhabitants that my family and I enjoyed seeing and we will miss him greatly. Thanks to the staff for their loving care without which we would not have had the time we did with him.
Our whole family would like to send our condolences out for the loss of a fun-loving creature. My 3 experiences at the aquarium were always highlighted by visiting the baluga whales. Gasper will sadly be missed. Thank you to the veterinarians & volunteers that helped him over this past year.
You were beautiful and as I stood watching you months ago, it seemed as though you were trying to communicate with me. You repeatedly rubbed against the glass in the exact spot that my hand was placed. Bless you for making me feel so touched.
Gasper shared many happy moments with our family. He was always the first animal my grandchildren wanted to see when we visited the acquarium. He will be missed.
Thank you for sharing a small part of your life with us Gasper...
We visited the aquarium for a 2006 kickoff meeting with Verizon Wireless. Gasper was a sight to see. Rest in Peace....
Goodbye, Big guy. I hope you enjoyed your brief time with us.
I am so glad that Gasper was brought to the Atlanta Aquarium and was able to receive the best in care and be loved. Though he will be missed, know that you did everything possible and that he loved all of you as you loved him.
It is comforting to know that Gasper received the finest care by the best veterinary team available. Gasper's playfulness and beauty will be missed.
Rest in peace big guy...we'll miss you.
I will miss your sweet smile, bubbles, gracefull movement, and the joy you brought to Atlanta. Rest easy friend.
Thank you for bring Gasper to GA. and doing everything you could for him. As a member of the aquarium I remain impressed with the compassion for the animals. I am grateful I got to see Gasper in March 2006. - ld
Gasper, We will miss your "smile", you brought so much joy to Atlantans in your short time here.
I have great memories of seeing Gasper last December, when he was so full of life and entertained by us humans, as much as we were entertained by him.
He was a beautiful whale with great spirit, may you rest in peace , Gasper. You will be deeply missed.
You will be greatly missed. We love you Gasper.
Gasper, We are so glad you are not suffering anymore. There is a special place for you in "animal Heaven". I will treasure the photos I did get of you when you first came to be with us.
Rest in peace, Gasper. We will miss you.
Rest in peace, Gasper. You fought the good fight, and had the best medical care possible. We will miss your smiling face.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
