Praying for the family...Your Soror in Naples, Florida.
To the family of Mary Shy Scott
You have our deepest sympathy. I remember her from attending a wedding in Georgia where she was serving as the Wedding Director. She was very helpful to all of the persons involved in the wedding. She had an infectious smile, and always seemed to be on point. I am sure she will be missed by all.
I will always remember Mrs. Scott for being the person that introduced me to dance. Being my chorus teacher at M. Agnes Jones Elementary, she saw something in me that I never knew existed. She brought out the true dancer in me and with her instructions I was able to perform throughout Atlanta. She will always be Loved and truly missed.

I remember Dr. Mary Shy Scott from my first grade year at Wesely Avenue Elementary School. She chose me to be a majorette and I have never forgotten that. Her beauty and her smile has stayed with me through the years. Mr. Scott was my favorite math teacher at David T. Howard High School. Of all my teachers from elementary school -- she is always first in my memory. My prayer is that our most gracous heavenly father will comfort you all through the times.
To the family of the Late Soror Mary Shy Scott.
You have my condolences.
Thinking of all of you at this time. God bless and keep you in His care.

Dr. Mary Shy Scott, a virtuous and phenomenal woman. Being in her first class at Wesley Ave. Elem. School we always felt like we had a special place in her heart. She taught us in 6th and 7th grades. She follow us through Mr. Scott at Howard, through college and even as we embarked on our careers. After she retired we surprise her with a dinner to thank her for how she helped to develop our self-esteem and exposed us to many things beyond our poor neighborhood of Edgewood.
Thank you Lord, for allowing Mrs. Scott to come into our lives and for the legacy she leaves! 7th grade Class of 1954
Please accept my prayers and my sympathy as your family handles the loss of Mary Shy Scott. Dr. Scott was a fabulous and gracious woman. She was the International President when I joined Alpha Kappa Alpha in 1991. I always called her "My Supreme". I will always remember her for her smile, her support, and her williness to extend herself to others who were in need. She was indeed, a grand lady.
God Bless you all,
My family's thoughts and prayers are with the Scott family at this time of loss. Soror Scott has left a legacy of sisters who will continue the great work of beloved Sorority.
Our thoughts of deep and sincere sympathy are with you at this time.
You are in our hearts and prayers...

Dearest Soror Alfredene and Family,
I cannot begin to convey my honor in just knowing and having had the opportunity to be in the presence of your mother, the epitome of gracious womanhood. She was indeed a role model and a leader with a servant's heart. Her good works touched thousands of lives; and, enhanced the well-being of the least among us. The world would surely be a better place if we all just did a fraction of what she did for humankind.
Please accept my sincerest condolences in the lost of your loved one.

Dearest Soror Alfredene & Family, I am still in shock & hurt that the reality of Dr. Mary Shy Scott's heavenly transition has finally registered in my heart. We knew that her time was drawing near, it's just that 3:36pm on April 15th was a "bittersweet surprise" to ALL of us. It was "bitter" for Mother Mary's family, sorors & friends, but "Oh So Sweet" for our 23rd Supreme International Basileus, Dr. Mary Shy Scott! God knew that she was tired & ready to Greet Him! Now that she has been awarded her heavenly "Pink & Green Wings," she's probably making plans with GOD to....."Add on a 3rd Floor in Heaven & casting auditions for the Angelic Choir for ALL Believers, featuring the Choir she lovingly organized & directed, the Kappa Omega Chorus!!! Rest in Peace Soror Mary, We Will ALWAYS Love You!!! Soror Willene White-Smith & BOTH Julians
