Love to all the Thurman's at this sad time. I was lucky enough to be one of her Girl Scouts and my family has enjoyed her gracious hospitality over the years. We have so many happy memories and although we are sad at the loss of Mildred, we are enjoying remembering those happy times spent with a lovely lady and all the family. Her love and kindness to others was shown in the beautifully orchestrated dinner parties. For those of us who were the recipients of her hospitality, it seemed effortless, but that was her nature. We are blessed to have known her.

Mrs Thurman was one of the sweetest and most gracious woman I have known. As a child and teenager she was my next door neighbor and I thought she was the most wonderful mother and friend, I have not heard about her in years but it sounds like she lived a wonderful life surrounded by her loving family . May she rest in peace . Thinking of all her family at this time ,esp. Alvin and Glenn . Shushu

What a lovely picture and what a lovely lady. I am writing from Boise Idaho where I live with my husband and daughter. Mildred hosted a beautiful brunch for us 20 years ago last month when we were married. She was a dear friend to my mother and to our family and shared many kindnesses with us over many long years. She will be missed. She and my mother shared so many years together, raised their kids together and may have led that Girl Scout troop you mentioned together. I can't quite remember. But I will always remember her kindness and beautiful smile. We were all lucky to have known her. Love to all the family from Carolyn Black Volk in Idaho.
