Family-Placed Death Notice
DEDO, Dr. William DR. WILLIAM CHARLES (BILL) DEDO Dr. William Charles (Bill) Dedo, age 61, of Thomaston, formerly of Lilburn, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. Bill was a beloved husband, father and brother. He was a dedicated physician who practiced family medicine in Lilburn for over twenty years. He also made frequent medical mission trips with Children's Cross Connection traveling through Central America. He was a member of the Classic Car Club of Thomaston and the Thomaston Upson Arts Council. Bill was a tender hearted man who always put others before himself. He was beloved by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Leslie Dedo of Thomaston; daughters and sons, Sarah, Emily, Paul, Daniel and John Dedo, all of Thomaston; brother, Damon Dedo of Plano, TX. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 PM Saturday, at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. (770) 564-2726.

I just have to say that my family loved Dr.Dedo. He was a true doctor who really cared for his patients. When he had retired we started seeing Dr.Herrin and he also learned and continue Dr.Dedo’s way of caring for patients. Now that Dr.Herrin has passed away, I have not found a doctor like them. I feel like the good old ways of being a real doctor has been lost. I miss them both and I keep my memories of them alive and share their ways with the doctors I see now. Yes, Dr’s these days are still hearing about them and forever will as long as I live. Hopefully the doctors these days will wise up and start remembering that it’s not all about the money but is truly about getting to know their patients and help them mentally and physically. Which helps us have a life that doctors are supposed to help us live.
Love and miss these true hero’s and want to thank their families for sharing them with us. They meant more to us than they know. Patient from 1992- 2017.

Dr. Dedo was my doctor and employer for 11 years, and also my friend. He had a great sense of humor and went out of his way to make me and my family feel like family. He was a profound influence on me and taught me so much about medicine and humanitarianism. Learning of his passing is very saddening but I know he is loved by his wife and family and that he lived a good and full life. Dr. Dedo made his mark in this world and will be missed.

Dear Leslie, children and family,
I just heard about Bill /Dr Dedo and my heart grieves with you. I worked front desk for Dr. Dedo for four to five years and felt very blessed to work with him. He was a very compassionate man and would never turn a sick patient away and he had such a deep love for his family. He will be greatly missed. Dr.Dedo hired me when I was still in school. He taught me more than I learned while in school. I was honored to be his back office manager for ten years. I was even more honored that he walked me down the aisle at my wedding when I had no father around. I think about him often and how wonderful he and his family were to me over the years. I am honestly heartbroken at his passing . He will be forever loved an missed.

Dr. Dedo was my doctor for about 25 years. It was a very sad time when he retired. I have missed him greatly. He was, by far, my favorite doctor. Although he is in a much better place now, my heart goes out to his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God will get you through this. He loved his family very much. God bless you all.

To the Dedo family--I went to Dr Dedo since the age of 15. I'm 37 now. Dedo was my all-time favorite doctor. I remember how he shook my hand--even as a kid--when he came to the room. He would ask about school and how things were going in my life. I work in healthcare--and I can tell you that Dedo was one of a kind. The world is a better place because he was in it.
