On behalf of my Mother, Pauline Jones, and our family, I want to extend deepest condolences to the Burch family. Ambrose was always such an integral part of life in Fayetteville, making enduring contributions to the community, in particular as organist for the Methodist Church, a devoted grower of beautiful lillies, a local bank board of directors member, and a gracious friend of so many. He and my late father served together on the Board of Directors of Farmers and Merchants Bank. In recent years, it was a pleasure to see him, as well as brothers Wilson and Robert, at Azalea Estates Assisted Living Center, where my Mother still resides. Ambrose was a gentle soul who genuinely cared for his fellow man and his community. May God rest his soul and provide peace to his family.
To Burch Family,
With deep sympathy and a heavy heart ,I write these words for your family. I am so sorry for your loss. May you find peace in all the pleasant memories that you have, and may they comfort you, and bring you strength, in your time of grief. May you also find comfort with the thoughts below:
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
This verse found @ Isaiah 49:13 has comforted me, I hope that t comforts you as well.
With Deepest Sympathy
My heart goes out to every family who have lost a love one in death. i am much relieved when read article like the one about Mr. Burch. thank you for sharing that part of his life story with me. I would like for you to keep this bible verse in mind 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
Mr. Burch and his sister, Mary, graduated along with my grandmother from FCHS in 1936. He played the organ for my parents' wedding in 1961. I have vivid recollections going to his beautiful daylilly hill at the corner of 54 and Gingercake, and of him at the organ bench when I'd go to church as a child with Mama's mother. He was a true Southern gentleman in the finest sense of the term, and his passing represents the now-swift departure of members of the Greatest Generation. Blessings and condolences to his family.
John and I send our deepest sympathy to the Burch Family. Ambrose was a wonderful, kind, and memorable man - and we (in the tax office across the street from the homeplace) really did love to give Sam a hard time about Ambrose mowing his grass. May God Bless you all in this time of great loss. Ellen Mills
