He was one of the best ever. What more can I say.
Skip Caray will always be a part of the cherished memories I have of becoming an Atlanta Braves fan way back in 1982. He was a treasure, and I will always be grateful that Skip, Pete, and Ernie made those early days of watching the Braves so memorable (even if the teams were struggling mightily). Thanks for the insight, enthusiasm, and terrific wit. "Braves Win! Braves Win! " The entire Atlanta Brave nation won the moment Skip Caray began his career with the Braves. God bless you, Skip!
As I watched the Braves game tonight I thought about how lucky all Braves fans are to have had Skip, Pete, Joe and Don calling the games. I'll never forget Skip calling the 92 NLCS and the 95 world series. Thank you Skip for all the wonderful memories I have of the Atlanta Braves
Skip, I was really young but remember you when I sat in front the television and watched the Atlanta Braves. I remember your voice and how you brought so much excitement to the game. I started my career in law enforcement in 2000 and I remember on the days I had to work I would tell my wife to record the game with Skip doing the broadcast. You will always be missed and may God bless you and your family!
You are still missed very much. Your love for the game and the humor you brought to the ballpark will never be matched.
I still miss you on the broadcast, they will never be the same. I especially liked them during a blowout when your funniest works were. Thanks Skip R.I.P Buddy.
skip caray rip you and ernie were the best broadcasters on tv and radio enjoyed listening to you god bless your wonerfull family may god put a hedge around them and keep them safe miss you doing the hawks games you will always be in my heart thanks for everything skip so long everybody
I chased Skip down in the Candlestick parking lot to tell him one day I would have his job... I really looked up to him -- I loved the Braves and wanted to be a professional sports broadcaster, mostly because of him. He said he hoped I was right about having that job someday and autographed my hat. He was so nice to me, some psycho fan running after him and yelling his name. All of the Braves players were coming onto the bus with all of the fans yelling for them, but I only wanted to meet Skip and was so ecstatic that I was able to. I'm no longer a Braves fan, but I will never get rid of that autographed hat. I miss you, Skip... thank you for your kindness and entertainment over the years. Rest easy.
Started listening to Skip when he was at his best, the radio voice of the Hawks on WSB. He called great games involving Lou Hudson, Joe Caldwell, Jim Washington, etc. He was simply outstanding as a basketball play-play man. Great guy, like Mark Holtz, play-by-play man for the Texas Rangers, left us way too early. Rest in peace Skip, we miss you.
