Howard's death conjures up the fondest memories for this "stranger." Howard was the first to equip my synagogue in Atlanta with a wireless microphone system. You could see immediately that what others consider trivial, Howard treated as a sacred mission, "so that the people could clearly hear the word of God." I will never forget that encounter and the wonderful gentleman who took the commandment to "lift your voice!" as a mandate of the Divine. May his memory be for a blessing.
