So sorry to hear of your loss. You have our deepest sympathy.

Please accept my sincere and heartfelt sympathy in this difficult time of loss. Mr Sumlin was truly a great administrator and example. I began my nursing career as a student in 1976 at Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing, and worked at Piedmont until November 2011. (E.White class of 1979)

Linda Lou,

Bill and I were distressed to learn of Hulett's death. We have fond memories of you from our childhood and Hulett from his days at Piedmont Hospital. Both of you have contributed greatly to our community. Bill wants you to know that, even 20 years later, many of the good things about the Piedmont Hospital of today are part of Hulett's legacy. Especially characteristic and invaluable were his frequent walks around the hospital to talk with patients, employees and physicians to find out how things could be improved. He was an outstanding hospital administrator and an all-around class act. This is a time of great sadness for you and your family, but you are all lucky to have so many memories of a wonderful man.

I worked at Piedmont from 1982-1990 and had the greatest respect for Mr. Sumlin. He was such a fine leader and cared about the employees. Even as the hospital grew, he remembered our names and asked about our families. My prayers are with you all. Kay NeSmith
