A celebration of life service will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway in Snellville. Cards and flowers can be sent to that address or to P.O. Box 3071, Loganville, Ga., 30052, officials from Ferguson's church said.

As the years have past it still hurts loosing you JD as if it just happened yesterday on this date that your loving spirit flew up to rest with our Lord. Today as your sister Dava held my hand and we stood at your grave knowing it's just your vessel that is beneath, she was certainly my rock for giving me strength today. I am praying for you and your family. Not that it is intended to compare, but solely to let you know you're not alone when tragic events happen, I have lost a brother to drowning and a sister to suicide. Both tragic deaths left behind hurting and confused family members. As a father of two precious daughters I hurt for you.
