I didn't meet Jay until 3 years ago and I always looked forward to our Friday morning breakfasts whenever he could make time. We both had cabins in the north GA mountains about 30 miles apart and would compare notes about maintenance problems. I'll miss our conversations.

My mother, Elizabeth Moore Pettigrass, graduated with Mr. Leviton from Haverling High School (Class of 1939) in Bath, NY. She was fond of him and will miss speaking to him by phone when she makes her yearly visits to Atlanta to see me. From their conversations, both your parents seemed like very active people who enjoyed their life.
(I am writing this note for my mother as she currently resides in Auburn, NY.) Our sympathies go out to your family.

Sincerely,

Doreen Janis, Alpharetta, GA
Daughter of Elizabeth Moore Pettigrass

During the 45 years I knew and worked with Jay, I always felt he was the kindest, and most patient man I've ever known. It really was a privilege to have known him. He will be sorely missed. John Corder
