I dont know you or your family but have some words that may help you in your loss. Susan St James lost her son in a plane crash and she said that when she came to realize that we are not human beings having a spiritual experience but spiritual beings having a human experience and some human experiences are shorter than others. you will be reunited someday and you will ALWAYS be their parents, no one can take that away from you. God Bless you in your loss and help you through this process.

I am so, so sorry to hear of your losses. I don't have any children, but I still tear up thinking about when I had to have my childhood cat put to sleep 14 years ago. I simply cannot imagine the magnitude of your feelings. I just know that I am so sorry and will be praying for you both to find comfort.

John & Terri - You have been ever present in my thoughts and prayers. I was deeply moved by the service yesterday Celebrating the lives of Karl & Laura. I was amazed by the Love and Peace that filled the sanctuary as we gathered together to grieve the loss of your two beautiful children - these two incredibly bright young people - who had already contributed so much to this world. Thank you so much for opening this Celebration to us and for teaching us through your acts of amazing wisdom.

My Partner, Carrie & I are heart broken for You. The past few days, we found ourselves sheltering our children - trying to protect them from everything - thinking we can somehow limit their exposure to danger. We have been acting out of Fear. Your message on the back of the program and then again to me in person yesterday was so powerful and freeing - "Parents please, continue to allow your children to live their lives to the fullest - we have no regrets." Thank you for this message.

John – I have always had deep respect for you. You have been a Leader in the Assistive Technology Community for over 20 years & taught many of us to dream Big about how technology can change people's lives for the better. Over the past few days, You & Terri have taught me even Bigger life lessons by the grace, kindness and love you have shown in this time of deep sorrow – especially giving life to other children.

I am here for you –
Sending You Peace, Light, and Love!

March 28, 2010

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Laura was our patient at Dr. Evans' office. We are going to miss Laura and her brother terribly. Laura's last visit was very memorable. She was talkative and gave us an update on her progress with the Davis Middle School band and science fair projects. She always brightened our office with her bubbly personality. I know she is in heaven talking with everyone and playing her saxaphone. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Anschutz family.

Karl was our patient at Dr Evans' office. We are going to miss him very much. Karl's last visit was memorable. I told him how much I enjoyed the Heritage Jazz Band concert and he was pleased that I attended and enjoyed it. Karl had just returned from one of his hiking trips, roughing it in the woods. He said it "awesome" and very strenuous. He told me how excited he was about attending Georgia Tech and majoring in mechanical engineering. I know Karl is in heaven playing his trumpet and entertaining all the angels and saints. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Anschutz family.
