To the family of Mrs. Lillian Miles Lewis.....May you find strength in the words from our LORD, written in the Holy Bible,..."To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD". Thank you for your longtime, love, service, and support to our nation, through your husband, one of our great, legendary leaders,...Rep John Lewis. May you now rest in peace. May God Bless You All.

I am grateful for the service of Mrs. Lewis, the "first lady" of our congressional district, to the people of Georgia and the nation. What a wonderful example she provided for all of us. She and her family are in our prayers, with thanksgiving.

Oh my, how I will miss Lillian. When we would talk it would be an hour or more discussion, talking politics, world events and simple happenings in Los Angeles. She was always diligent in calling to see if I was going to Congressional Black Caucus every year so she could arrange for tickets for the Atlanta party. She was someone I always looked forward to speaking to. I was lucky to have visited her a few years ago with Gwen Moore to her and John's beautiful home. I have fond memories that I will reflect on in these coming days.

John; My thoughts are with you during these tough times. But with family and friends supporting you, you too can reflect upon the good times with Lillian. With sympathy and much love, Joy Atkinson
