Mrs. Hall was my 7th grade teacher at Lee Street Elementary School. She was the only teacher at that school I can remember being nice to me and my family. One summer I was at camp; she, her husband and daughter, Rebecca drove over, picked up my mother (my mother never learned to drive) and brought her to camp for a surprise visit. This was the only time my mother was able to visit me at camp. At the age of 12 I knew how lucky I was to have Mrs. Hall for a friend, I still realize that over 50 years later. I know that she will be missed by many.
My youngest daughter has a friend that lives in West End, I think about Mrs. Hall every time I drive past West End Mall. Part of the mall sits on the grounds where the school was.
