My husband was Officer Robert J. Martin, a Smyrna Police officer for 27 years. I lost Rob four years ago to the brain cancer that took him from me. Mike saw that Rob's funeral, complete with Honor Guard, would pay a fitting tribute to my husband for his dedicated service. Rob helped start the Motorcycle Unit and worked under Mike for several years. Rob loved those years working with Mike and came home often with good things to say about him. He felt that Mike was a good man who was always fair and honest in his dealings with the men. Mike was respected and admired. I send my deepest sympathy to Monica and the rest of his family. "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength." Mike's strength has once and forever been renewed.

Michael used to come by American Music on a regular basis when I worked there all those years ago. He was a good player and just a great guy to have around. Everyone smiled when he walked through the door and the mood was always lifted. I saw him a few years back, playing in Powder Springs for their 4th of July celebration and he got so cracked up that I was on the sound crew. I was touched that he remembered me after all of those years but I sure remembered him. Guitar players are often like police officers, we tend to be brotherly. May God bless my old buddy and his family.

Although my heart is full of grief it is also full of many great memories of two boyhood best friends growing up in Woodridge Illinois. My thoughts and prayers are with Mike and Monika at this time. I truly regret I am not able to be there. Rest in peace my wonderful friend.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Michael. He had a positive impact on all of us at the clinic. I will always remember his beautiful smile and his awesome sense of humor. He is in God's presence now and we can take comfort in that. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Dear Monika,
My sincere condolences with Michael's passing. I have thought of the two of you so often over the year's. I moved back to Marietta 4 years ago to be with my daughter Brittney and her family after Jaime's passing.
I know the next day's, week's and even month's may be busy for you, but I would love to see you. Maybe have coffee or lunch. Please know I am thinking of you.
Love,
Debbie Gunther- Estep

Love and strength to you, Monika, and all the family, as we share your sadness at Mike's going to be with the heavenly Father. He has been so well-loved by his family, his friends, and his colleagues. And audiences everywhere....He was a masterful artist and even better friend.
With love, Cathy and Mark Adams
