To the Lawson Family and the True Church Family. Bishop Lawson was truly I believe a man of God. He was a man who would go out of his way to bless the people of God. He truly walked in the will of God as just a dear servant of God Almighty. My prayers and thoughts are with the family at this trying time. Be encouraged and draw from the strength and love for each other that Bishop so lived and teached. I never will forget those songs that Bishop loved to sing. I find myself singing those old songs and they just bring joy to my soul. With much love, Sarah Hathorn.

To the Lawson Famiy, Your loss is felt hundreds of miles away. Bishop Lawson was a great Man of God. Not just as Bishop, but since he was Elder Lawson he's travelled the roads faithfully. To pastor 1 church is great but he's carried multiple congregations for many years. Psalms 116:15 says: "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Truly Bishop was precious to us also.

To the Lawson family; we are deeply sadden by the sudden turn of events. With the passing of our Pastor and friend Bishop Lawson. He had really been a blessing to me and my family. He's going to be missed so much. I don't have enough word's to express them all. He gave me and my wife so much fatherly advice and of course the true word to live by. He'll never be forgotten. God Bless you Mother Lawson and the family.

What an awesome and powerful man of God gone. My heart has been so heavy since the lost of this great apostle. I will always remember Bishop's songs that he seem to have made up, seems like the night before, then sings them at church for us to try... O how I will miss that... Mother Lawson and family, I'm not sure if there are any words that can comfort you in this time of loss, but I will say stay strong and hold up the light that was held by Bishop Lawson.
Love Always,

I am truly going to miss Bishop Lawson. I am thankful that God allowed me to get to know Bishop Lawson. He was truly a man of God. He taught me to hold firm to the word of god. I always talk to Bishop Lawson about things that I use to go through. He never sugar-coated anything. He told me what the word said and what I must do in order to see the lord. I really appreciate his guidance. I am very sad about his departure, but I know he is in a better place. The Lawson family will always be in my prayers.

I thank God for knowing a great, great holy name of God. A beautiful example for me. He preached the word of God without fear or favour - a living example. His wife Mother Lawson right by his side, a wonderful mother. I am in prayer for the family. "Thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." These words Bishop read truly encouraged my heart.

I have know Bishop Lawson for mainly all the 17 years of my life. All I knew was Bishop "Pop" Lawson and have grown to love and honor him for who he is. It was shocking news to hear he passed because I wanted him to be around here longer than this. I wanted him to wed me and possibly teach my children if I have any. He always said he wanted to be around for at least 15 more years. I will miss him coming in on Sunday nights in Augusta and waving to the congregation. He always had a warm smile on his face. I will also miss parking beside him practically every Sunday and him shaking our hands when we got out of the car. He was a man not to be taken for granted. He was like a 3rd granddaddy to me and my siblings. He will be greatly missed in my life as well as others. The other true church preachers will carry on in his stead and I believe they won't let him down. I also thank him for teaching my dad, Minister N. Turner the word one day, and is currently carrying on in Girard and Augusta in the time being and doing a great job. I also love and appreciate Mother Lawson for who she is and also for driving and being beside Bishop when they traveled and he delivered God's word. I want to live right and not let his teachings be in vain in my life. I love both Bishop and Mother Lawson and I hope to see him one day in peace.

“I Thank God You Taught Us The Word”
A mighty warrior is gone,
To await a just reward.
He fought a good fight,
He kept the faith and
Now his breath has returned to God.
He fought until he fell,

Until his final orders came,
Lie down your sword and shield.

Mother Lawson and the Lawson Family also to the Ture Chruches of God In Christ families. We was sadden to hear about Bishop Lawson going home to be with the Lord. 1st Corinthians 15:57-58 says "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
The life that Bishop Lawson lived will always be remembered in the hearts of all that knew him. I know that he was a man that lived holy before the nation. I enjoyed looking at him on his broadcast. Mother Lawson, you and the your family along with the church family will always be in our prayers.

Our Dearest Friend and Pastor Bishop Lawson will be greatly missed. In the few years that he labored with us at Lucas Temple, he taught us so much about trusting and believing in God, not man. For that I am grateful. He helped me go through one of the toughest trials of my life. He was there every step of the way, being my spiritual father, offering advice even when it wasn't so sweet. He was so wise and I am so honored that God chose him for us. Thank you, God. Lawson family, you continue to be in my prayers. May you find comfort in the Lord.

To the Lawson Family and members of The True Church, I wish to express my condolence in the passing of Bishop Lawson. It was truly an honor and pleasure meeting and sharing in fellowship with him. As a pastor in the Scottdale community, some of my greatest moments with Bishop Lawson, was greeting him on Sunday mornings before worship when they shared our building. He and Mother Lawson were a blessing and always shared a kind and encouraging word to us. It was good for us to have met. The Bible says they who labor in the word and doctirne should be counted worthy of double honor. I honor the life of Bishop Bobby Joe Lawson, Sr.

There has been a great deal of remorse, and at the same time, a great deal of happiness on the day of 12/17/06. A man by the name of Bishop Bobby Joe Lawson, Sr., who endured drastic pains within the body, walked upon many in a divine spirit. He had love, peace and joy about declaring God’s council. He stood for something firm. I will miss him dearly, because despite circumstances, he has taught me a lot about responsibility. From that I will take his charisma and apply it to my life, the way I treat my wife, the way I treat my children and the way I treat others. I thank God for having the privilege to experience Bishop Bobby Joe Lawson, Sr. He is no longer suffering now. May God bless his family, the True Church movement, and everyone that loved him whole-heartedly. God bless ya....

Bishop BJ Lawson, Sr. was indeed a TRUE MAN OF GOD. I will miss his smile, his powerful voice, and his mighty messages. The families both naturally and spiritually are in my prayers. (II Corinthians 5:8/9 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.)
