Dean Singleton was a wonderful leader and mentor to so many of us during the 1960's at Ga State College/University. His impact was deep and broad -- continuing today and beyond.

My heart was saddened this week when I heard the news from GA of Dr. Singleton's passing. Although almost 2 decades have passed since I sat in that circle of desks known as the "LO" with classmates ready for great debates or exhausted many late night hours on written case analysis like that of Andy Tolt and all the strategic dilemmas of the West Point "Fruit" case, I have spoken many times over the years to many people about my all-time favorite professor. Truly memorable experiences stay with you for a lifetime. So, I have no doubt, many others will hear me speak of the exceptional man who re-motivated me in my role as a student; re-charged my desire to learn; and challenged me to discover my true potential and enjoy the rewards of success and self-satisfaction that come when you make the most of each opportunity. I've always been grateful for the opportunity to have been a student in your class Dr. Singleton. I know for sure I learned much more than I ever expected. I'm still a proud "STP" card holder. Thank you again (in "case" you thought I forgot) for standing on your desk and making a difference. Bravo!

Dear Singleton family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Dr. Singleton made a difference in the lives of many people in the running community in Atlanta through the Peachtree Road Race and to his students and colleagues at Georgia State University. My dad was one of Tim's colleagues at Georgia State and I am a 40-year beneficiary of his creating of the Peachtree Road Race. I will be thinking of Dr. Singleton next July 4th as I run the Peachtree.
