Dear Young family
It is with a deep heart and great sadness that I read about The passing of Bill Sr. Having known him and the boys ( men) for so many years as we shared many mutual times in the alcoholic beverage business , I don't think I ever met a finer, kinder and dedicated man. His family and business were his most important things. The values he taught his children and associates were to be honest , fair , giving , compassionate and hard working. We all will miss his wisdom and sensitivity. God bless you all.

This man meant the world to me, and was a true friend to my father, Charlie Shropshire. Love to all the Young's. My memories of you all are the best!

On behalf of my husband, Ernest Robertson, and myself, we extend to Jane and the entire Young family our sincere sympathy on your loss. As team members of Marietta High School's winning and spirited football team, Bill and Ernest shared a bond. Both valued sportsmanship and being the best that they could be. Through the years, Bill and Ernest had many of the same experiences. Both were enthusiastic UGA fans, both began their careers as young insurance agents who earned respect in this industry. Each was dedicated to being a role model for their growing family, and I must add that each was a devoted husband. As members of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, they continued their friendship on Sunday mornings. Consistently, whenever Ernest and I saw Bill (even at a distance), he had a positive greeting for us. He made us feel that he was always glad to see us. This is indicative of how he responded to friends, business associates, and members of community organizations. The name, Bill Young, will long be honored in business, in church settings, and at the University of Georgia. His was a life filled with accomplishments that will be long remembered. Bill Young will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but especially by his devoted family and loyal friends who loved and admired him.
