I was very sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. I had the great benefit and pleasure of working for Charlie when he hired me to help start up Vista Higher Learning. Finally, I realized that a manager could be a mentor, a teacher, a friend and a human being. I will never forget his humor, kindness and what he stood for which was absolute integrity. Integrity, which is so often lost in the corporate world. As a manager now, I try to live up to the examples and lessons Charlie left me and I still hear his voice. I always will. He was one of a kind and I hope you all find comfort and peace in that he had such a lasting and positive influence on so many lives. He certainly did in my life and I am forever changed because of it. Thank you, Charlie.

Rosemary & Mike, so sorry for your loss. We all loved Uncle Charlie and always looked forward to his visits. I tremendously enjoyed when my dad and him would get together and reminisce about their adventures growing up and the crazy characters they encountered along the way. The two of them together was like watching a bad comedy team, and I loved every moment of it. He was my dad's best friend, my Godfather and an all-round great guy. He will truly be missed.

Dear Rosemary and Michael, Some of my earliest memories are visiting with your family. I will always remember what a treat it was. There was always special candies and fun things to do. Uncle Charlie always had interesting stories to tell. I'm so happy that in the past few years you were all able to travel together. My parents had so much fun with you and Charlie. So many fond memories! Uncle Charlie will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Dear Rosemary and Mike,
You are in my thoughts. Charlie was a great family man. As the Maid-of-Honor, I remember so well your wedding in Steilacoom, Washington, in December 1970 (it seems like not so long ago). It was such a joyous occasion. I thought you both were the most handsome couple that I had ever seen. The next year, you were the Matron-of-Honor at my wedding at St. Paul's in Port Townsend, Washington. After the ceremony, I remember Charlie spontaneously ringing the church bells. He was having so much fun pulling the ropes! Charlie was blessed with a delightful sense of humor that made him fun to be around. In addition, he was adventuresome, always trying new activities and new travel locations. Every Christmas, I looked forward to your annual card to learn what exotic destination you had traveled that year. What a wonderful guy! Charlie personified the "joy of living." He will be missed by all who knew him.

When someone asks to name someone that had a huge effect on my life...Charlie Place is the person I would mention. He was a joy to have as both a manager and a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with Rosemary and Mike

Charlie was my best friend.
I met him in 1959 in Oceanside NY when I was 13.
We stayed good friends since then.
I will miss our great vacations together with our wives, and our long telephone conversations.
The world is a better place because of Charlie.
My sincere sympathy to Rosemary and Mike.
