Dearest Father~
This year you have a brand new great granddaughter. Karena Rose Drake, was born on September 3, 2008. It was quite an event. Chris and Natasha arrived at their scheduled doctor appointment, which happened to be baby Drake’s due date. All of the sudden Natasha’s water broke. And baby was on her way. Karena arrived at 7lbs. and 10oz. 19 inches long, and a full head of hair. Tears streamed down your grandson’s face as he held his brand new daughter in his arms. Together the proud new parents posed for a series of pictures with their healthy and exceptionally beautiful daughter.
Also~
This year your granddaughter Laura Lamberton became Laura Quezada. She married Paul on October 18, 2008. She had 4 bridesmaids and Paul had 4 groomsmen. Your great granddaughter Emily was a beautiful flower girl, and your great grandson Markie was a proud ring barer. Laura's veil and gown were exquisite. Paul stood proud in his striking tux, as he watched his wife to be, walk down the aisle on the arm of her father. (Your son Mark).
The reception was in a delightful garden of flowers, and lush green grass. Family and friends were seated at designated round tables with lovely tablecloths, china, and crystal goblets. The servers took care of us like Kings and Queens. We were in awe when we saw mom and your wedding picture as one of the centerpieces at our table. We were served a delicious dinner, and a cake that you must have sent from heaven.
We enjoyed the many unique favors placed on each table.
There was wonderful music, dancing, and mingling. Like father like son Mark had an open bar for all to toast the newlyweds. Everyone was dressed to the 9’s.
Laura has become a Kindergarten teacher, and Paul has accepted a position with the Department of Corrections. Together they have purchased a home.

In celebration of your birthday today, I smile with a funny memory that continues to play in my mind.
Each day the big blue jay would come squawking and bouncing up and down on your work bench, obnoxiously waiting for you to feed him his green horned worm from your lush tomato plants. Even the birds know how unique you are.
May the wishes I blow into your balloons today, find their way to you.
Happy Birthday father of mine.

To our father, our best friend~
You entered the magnificent afterlife one-year ago today.
We have learned many things from you these passed decades~ a few stand out.
Love with all your heart.
Follow your dreams - serve others with every fiber of your being.
Enjoy every moment of everyday, even the cloudy ones.
Although we still miss you greatly, we rejoice you have graduated this earth, and wait for us on the other side.

Mr. Lamberton was like a second dad as I was growing up. I'm sure for at least half of my early teenage years I stayed the night at the Lamberton house. I have missed you all so much and I have fun telling my children stories from the days of Craighurst Drive. I am so sorry for this huge loss and will keep you all in my prayers.
