Hello- I am sending you a photo I found recently among the pic in the family house. My mom died recently and we have been cleaning up her house. In there there were photos that were friends of my uncles, and he is still alive at 92. I know he built houses but I am not sure when, and my family on m dads side was from Sacramento. In any case...
This photo was such a beautiful shot of a really happy guy. And on the back it said, "Melvin Ward, Project City California." I am hoping it's a shot of your Melvin, and if not, my sincere apologies for you loss.

Mr Ward was building houses on Oak Ridge and my husband and I just stopped in. He stopped his work and talked to us. He was so very nice. He built good homes it was evident then. We bought one of those homes he built on that street and spent 30 years living there. It was well built and Mr Ward added extra upgrades for us at minimal costs. He was a very sweet man. I am sorry for your loss.

A finer father, husband and man would be hard to find. Growing up with his children he was always patient and enthusiastic with the neighbor kids. Never once did I see him lose his temper. Let me echo some of the many wonderful things I've heard said about Mr. Ward. He was a genuine, kind, loving man. May all the wonderful memories of him help everyone through these trying times. To Doris, Ron and Cherie all our condolences. from the Woodworth's. Mark & Cathy Ann(I was opnce that tall, skinny, gangly neighbor kid down the block)

At every stage of his life, Mel was a fine person. We were buddies, friends and cousins. I loved him dearly. And Jesus loves Melvin even more than I do. Melvin knew that Jesus is "the way, the truth and the life" and all who call His name are saved. So we can believe in faith that Melvin is having fun in heaven! He has not disappeared into an unknowable void.
