My cousin Robert was an extremely kind and caring man. I was his younger cousin and remember him letting me join him as he would hike around the Auburn hills looking for antique bottles, etc. I lived out of California for over 20 years, but loved hearing from him until his battle with early onset Alzheimers took its tool. We've lost a loving steward of the earth and I will always remember him with a full heart. Sending strength and love to Gayle and Thea. Carol Chesney

I was so sorry to hear of Robert's illness and passing. I remember Robert and his parents from the early days of my joining the Placer County Historical Society. He was always so nice, soft spoken and kind. My prayers to Gayle and Thea.

So sorry to hear of Robert's passing. I know he battled with Altzheimers for a while - so am hoping he is at peace. He was my daughter's 2nd grade teacher.

With deepest sympathy, may the power of prayer ease your sorrow, give you peace and provide much comfort for you and your family during this difficult time. (Matthew 21:22)

Robert always did what he could to promote caring for our earth. Years ago, we worked together on the Native Plant Society's plant sales. He welcomed my husband giving presentations on birds to his elementary school classes. He was one of the kindest people I've ever known, and made the world a warmer, friendlier place. He loved to say "Neato"! He was a loving soul who will be missed. Our condolences go out to Gail and his family.

I knew the Chesney family when we all lived on River View Drive. I used to baby sit Bob and his sister Joan. We were good friends and neighbors of the whole Chesney family. Bob was a very nice child to baby sit. He liked antiques as a small boy and used to like talking about old things. A good christian family and they all did well in the Education field. Condolences to his family.Connie Wilson Masters from New Zealand

I lived across the street from Bob on River View Drive in Auburn. I used to baby sit him as a small boy. He was a good kid and very thoughtful. He liked old things even as a child he talked about antiques. The Chesney family were good friends of our all the years we lived on Riverview. They were a family of teachers. A very good Christian family. Condolences to his family.

Oh my condolences to the family of Mr.Chesney! I was a student of his 26 years ago at Placer Hills School. I've thought of Mr Chesney over the last few years. I saw him about 13 years ago in Loomis at some festival, tried having a conversation with him but it was difficult because he was talking much and had a hard time even remembering me. I will always remember his smile, the hats he always wears, and how sweet he was to his students. I will even remember how he would wear the FM UNIT (microphone piece for the deaf and hearing impaired) and will forget to turn it off at times and I'll overhear him talking to others. May you rest in peace Mr.Chesney.
