I read the many entries posted from former students and parents that have been graced by Mrs. Gunther's presence and see how much each and every one of these people really loved her, yet I cannot find the words to express how much she really meant to me.

All I know is that I will always remember our trip to New York, I will always remember that you called me "Noel" and I will always remember that you were more than just a teacher, you were a mentor and a great friend. I'll miss you so much Mrs. Gunther. God Bless.

How do so many students and staff deal with the loss of such an amazing women? It's not something that any of us were ready for. Mrs. Gunther was an insperation to so many of us kids. The passion and love for music that she had was brought into practices every single day was beyond incredible. Even when we didn't want to be in choir, she had a way of making it more exciting and more fun than the last time! She touched everyone who's ever been a part of her life, from her students inside her choir room, to the students and staff at the school, even to all the parents of her students. Mrs. Gunther was the most kind hearted, loving teacher i've ever had the privilege of knowing. She has shaped my love of music and i will forever be grateful to her! You will never be forgotten and you will always be missed!

I had the distinct honor of having Mrs. Gunther as my teacher twice, first at St. Vincent, and again at St. Mary's when she joined us.

I can still remember the excitment the few of us from St. Vincent had when we realized Mrs. Gunther was coming to St. Mary's, and how we looked forward to having her teach us again. She had the most infectious enthusiasm, and most optimistic outlooks that you couldn't help but smile.

Jr. High and High school was never the easiest time in life. A lot of transitions but many of us knew that if we need to be cheered up, Mrs. Gunther was just down the hallway.

In later years, whenever I would visit St. Mary's, she was one of the teachers I would first visit. I remember the joy she had in hearing our success, success that she in no small part helped us achieve.

Her legacy will live on in all the students she taught, and all the lives she has changed.

Until we meet again

Garth and family, I was devastated to hear about Audrey; I am not at all surprised with the legacy she has left. I loved her for her kindness, her wonderful sense of humor, her love of music, and most of all for her zest for life. My friend Audrey and our relationship defines friendship to me. My childhood and school years are defined by things Audrey and I did together and the thoughts and feelings we shared. I am so glad Audrey and I were able to reconnect over the last few years. When we did, I remembered why she was my friend for so many years and why I loved her so much. There is much I could write about Audrey and still never capture how much she meant to me and how much I will miss her. I think Helen Keller said it well, "With the death of eery friend I love..a part of me has been buried..but their contribution to my being of happiness, strength, and understanding remains to sustain me in an altered world." My thoughts are with you all, and I know Audrey is in heaven wishing we will rejoice her life, rather than let sorrow over come us. I am trying so hard to do that. Love Beth
