Mrs. Betty Dent Mayo, 80, was born on Feb. 6, 1938. She entered into rest on Feb. 9, 2018. Mrs. Mayo was born in Dublin, Ga. She was a graduate of Augusta Technical College and retired as a training instructor from Thomson Company. Mrs. Mayo was a member of Martinez Baptist Church. She was an avid cook and enjoyed fellowshipping with the family on "Friday nights at the Mayo's". Mrs. Mayo is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bobby Lee Mayo, her parents William Bartow Dent and Aster E. Dent, her brother Billy Dent and her sisters Glenda Johnson and Louise Rodine.
She is survived by one son, Richard Lee Mayo, two daughters, Robyn Mayo Gray and her husband, Chris, and Lisa Anne Mayo, three granddaughters, Mckenzie Gray, Lindsey Sellers, and Carrington Gray, one grandson, Zachary Sellers, and four sisters, Helen Daniels, Dianne Wood, Judy Dent, and Barbara Pasco.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock a.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 at Martinez Baptist Church with Revs. Phillip Winsett and Rev. Tommy Harwell officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3 o'clock p.m. at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson, GA.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Beggs Funeral Home 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
