I'm so glad that two precious people got together and decided to allow the Lord to bless them with a beautiful baby girl, Deborah Gracey-Hilson. Our greeting for each other was "Hey Dummy # 1 or Dummy #2!" Deborah was short in stature, but a giant in love, joy, and compassion. She walked like she was 10 ft. tall, with purpose. I'll never forget how she walked across the stage graduation night from T.W. Josey High School. You just knew she was going to rule the world. Oh the memories we have. Her mom had a white Datsun that we loved! I say we because her mom always wanted me to drive when we were out together. We confided in each other. When she'd cry, I cried. When she'd laugh, I laughed. She was like a sister. When we became mothers, we got to know each other all over again. She had ups and downs but the greatest of her ups were her children and husband Joe. She loved them deeply, and was loved by them even more. The treasure chest of love that she accumulated in this life would be the wind beneath her wings to glory. She's absent from the body and present with the Lord. If we are in Christ, we will see her again. James 4:14 says our life is a vapor that appears for a moment and then vanishes away. So while we are here, and we don't know when our vapor trail will dissipate, let's strive to make a difference by forgiving and loving one another. Life is too short to hold grudges. That's what she'd want us to do moving forward. To the family, God bless and keep you. May the memories you have bring you joy and comfort. I pray that God will bind up your wounds and heal your broken heart; that He will satisfy your longing soul as you grieve and continue your life's journey. I will always love you Deborah.
