Mrs. Eleanor was one of the very coolest folks I have met! Always a cheerful disposition. Always encouraging. I will miss her but looking forward to celebrating with her in the presence of Jesus around His throne one day!!!!! She was a dear lady.

Mrs. Ames will surely be missed by my mom and family. My mom became her roommate/friend after my dad passed away last year. She was a sweet, sweet person. Always smiling and gave hugs if there was anything that you could help her with. Would always speak to Mrs. Ames to see how she was feeling or if she needed anything when I came to see my mom, whether it was during the daytime or evening. Thought of her as part of the family. As my sister wrote also in the guest book, would have loved to hear her stories of all the things she had done throughout her life. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.Mrs. Ames was an outstanding educator with special love and knowledge of preschool children. What a sincere and dedicated Christian she was. She was an outstanding member of Curtis who loved to serve her Lord in the many ministries of her church and community.

My mom and Mrs. Ames became roommates at Harrington Park after my dad passed away last year. I wish I had known Mrs. Ames while she was still able to talk. I would have loved to hear her stories about all the things she had done throughout her life. What an amazing woman!! We would always go over and speak to Mrs. Ames when we visited with my mom and she always had a big smile and reached out for a hug. She and Mama were quite the pair heading off to the dining room - one in a wheelchair and the other walking with the assistance of a walker. When my dad passed away we worried about how my mom would cope with his absence. Mrs. Ames became Mama's new person to "mother". She always stopped at Mrs. Ames' door to tell her that she loved her and that she would be back from wherever it was that she would be going.
I'm glad that they were able to be friends.

We will miss seeing Mrs. Ames when we visit but we rejoice that she is at peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I sure LOVED Mrs. Eleanor Ames AND loved reading all you outlined in the obituary here. I knew about some of what you all wrote, but I definitely learned a few things reading it tonight! Love & prayers, April Greene Lowry
