Memories of Mom (MOM):
Celebrating my own anniversary with my lovely wife of 38 years reminds me of Mom's wonderful life-long relationship with my Dad!
That relationship has helped me learn the value of those life-long love affairs.
Here's to Mom's memory!!!

Grandma,
I will start off by saying that you are greatly missed by all your family and friends and we're all so blessed to have had the time (what feels like a not enough) to share and make memories with you. You may be gone from the world as we know it but our memories of you and the love that you brought to this family will always be remembered. You made a lasting impression on all of us and we are all taking this time to remember you as a grandma, a mother, and a wife. Your family loves you!

My favorite memory of grandma (one of many): Back in June of 2015, Steve Hull's immediate family, Uncle Clifff, Victoria Hull, Andrew Hull and grandma and grandpa rented a cabin for about 4 days in Maggie Valley. We visited a number of places in the mountains, sat by a camp fire, relaxed in a hot tub, and just enjoyed each others' company. For the first time (at least for me), grandma opened up about her childhood and what it was like to be alive in Austria during Hitler's reign. This is the first and only time I've ever heard grandma open up about her past and talk about it willingly. I'm so blessed that I had the opportunity to spend with grandma at the cabin because it not only was the last time I got to see her but it was also a very happy and enjoyable event that I can always reflect back on whenever I start to miss her.

Memories of Mom (MOM)-Chapter 8. The portrait you see here is of the family just about the time that yours truly was about to head out to graduate school back in about 1977 or so. Mom left behind a great legacy with 5 sons who have all gone on to big things. From left to right are Peter, Paul, ME, Cliff and Alan with Mom and Dad of course seated in the middle. Mom did a GREAT job of raising five sons while Dad was busy doing two tours in Vietnam!

After about a year's hiatus, time to resume the Memories of Mom (MOM) series. I believe we are on Chapter 7:
As most of you who knew her are aware, Mom and Dad met in Austria in Mom's hometown of Saalfelden. Since about 2009 (or maybe before), they would take a trip back to Saalfelden and visit family and enjoy the great hospitality and beauty of Austria!! Here is Mom standing next to the sign for her hometown on one of those trips.
