To Jack's family, I am very sorry for your loss. I did not know Jack personally but "found him" online last week. I was searching for info on my dad's ship LST 1013 and came across Jack's name in several places. As a matter of fact I just ordered a book that had a recollection of his navy time in it. My dad mentioned to me years ago that he had a friend aboard the ship named Mobley who was a Gunner's Mate from Georgia. My dad always spoke fondly of his shipmates and the Navy. I thank your dad for his service and on behalf of my dad thank him for being a good friend and shipmate during the war. My dad passed away in 2006 at age 86.
As a side note I served 27 years in the Navy and my son is a Chief Gunner's Mate in the Navy. Rest In Peace Gunner Jack.

Lynn,

So sorry to hear about your father. I remember all of our family from attending Mize Memorial United Methodist Church in Augusta. My father John Boyd Adams thought so very much of your father, Jack and your uncle Vernon. May God be with you and your family during this time of sorrow.

Love in Christ,
Steve Adams

Papa will be missed by all of us, but we will always have him in our hearts. He taught each one of us so very much & we will have many fond memories to look back on. Papa was the most generous, loving & caring grandfather anyone could have. He never failed to be encouraging & supportive and reminded us how proud he was of us frequently. Abbott, John and I will miss him very much. I have and will always be so proud to be able to call him my "Papa."
