Joseph Randell Worley, 68, MSG, US Army Retired, beloved husband of 48 years of Mrs. Phyllis James Worley, entered into rest on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at his residence.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held in the Blythe United Methodist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Dr. Francis Ford and the Reverend Thurman Norville officiating.
Mr. Worley was a native of Augusta and the son of the late Joe and Hortense Douglas Worley. He served his country in the U.S. Army having served in Desert Storm and retiring following 24 years with the rank of Master Sergeant. He loved to fish and to watch NASCAR and in his spare time enjoyed building bird houses. He was a member of Blythe United Methodist Church where he had served on the Board of Trustees.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Worley.
Other surviving him include his children, Alicia Worley, Donna Worley (Steven Manning); his siblings, Pauline Stark (Ronald) and Betty Foxworth; his grandchildren, Brittany Ballenger, Mason Price, Kallie Lane, Candace Manning, Gavin Manning and Ashlyn Manning; his great grandchild, Ilyssa Martin; and a host of nieces and a nephew.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Augusta Warrior Project, 701 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
