My sincere condolences to Mr Azevedo's family. He was a well respected teacher and will be missed.

Mr. Azevedo was the finest teacher I ever had. He brought music and joy into the lives of countless students. I often hear him telling a joke, that only he could tell. They were always so bad you could not help but laugh. To this day songs come o the radio that bring me back to Mr. Azevedo's music room. He is a part of so many lives. In his family, he lives forever. In his students, he lives forever.

I first met the Azevedo family when they moved into our Lincoln neighborhood. I grew up with their children and saw what a role model Mr. Azevedo was to all children--whether on the basketball court or in the bandroom. Please accept my sympathies on the passing of this fine man.

You are at peace in Heaven now. Thank you for being such a wonderful and inspiring music teacher at LHS. I still remember the encouraging words you said to me during 1972-75 in chorus. You taught me to LOVE music. You were so passionate, hardworking and kind. May God bless your family members left behind.

Some of my fondest memories of high school included Mr. Azevedo. As a majorette and chorus member I spent almost every Sunday morning with him, either Halftime entertainment at football games, performing in concert's or marching in a parade. Mr. Azevedo was one of a kind, I can remember him running along side us as we marched down Federal Hill in providence, sometimes laughing because we almost always were stuck behind the clydesdale horses from Budweiser. " Just march around the pies" he'd say. He had a warm heart and was quite humorous. He had a way of getting you to do things his way without you realizing you were being led and always with a smile on his face!! He will be surely missed by all. Especially all the alumni who marched, sang or performed under his guidance. Rest in eternal peace my friend and above all else, enjoy the music!
