I am truly going to miss my mentor Lloyd Raiford. I could call him at anytime and bear my soul to him. He never judge me, always encouraged me.

This is what he has done for me. It is a solemn duty to change lives positively. It is a noble honor to inspire and be there for others. It is an irresistible necessity to have empathy; to understand the situations and the reasons for the actions of others. Real mentoring is less of neither the candid smile nor the amicable friendship that exists between the mentor and the mentee and much more of the impacts. The indelible great footprints the mentor lives on the mind of the mentee in a life changing way. How the mentor changes the mentee from ordinariness to extra-ordinariness; the seed of purposefulness that is planted and nurtured for great fruits; the prayer from afar from the mentor to the mentee; and the great inspirations the mentee takes from the mentor to dare unrelentingly to face the storms regardless of how arduous the errand may be with or without the presence of the mentor

My mentor was a person, an expert in a specific area of endeavor who trains, guides and observes a less experienced person to also become an expert through support, advice, and involvement in character building opportunities. This was Lloyd Raiford. Through his guidance, I pray that I will become a great Pastor and have the same heart he had for so many others.

I WILL MISS HIM, BUT KNOW WE WILL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN.

Philippians 1:3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,

Steven McCann

I was blessed to have know Chief Raiford. I worked for him for several years. We spent many hours after work sitting in the office talking about God, family, and life. He had a significant impact on my life. A finer man I do not know. I read my bible sitting in the chair he use to sit in when we talked. My thoughts and prayers for all his love ones, especially Olivia. The Chief's voice always softened and his eyes light up when he spoke of Olivia. Rest in the Lord's arms Chief. You made this world a better place and difinitely helped me to be a better person.

My heart and prayers goes out to CMSgt Raiford's family. I worked for CMSgt Raiford for many years and considered him both a professional and spiritual mentor. Our faith based conversations help me grow in God and career. Trust in God and stay strong in his word. To Olivia; you were his pride and joy. I can remember seeing such a change in him when you were born. The light in his eyes sparkled and he began to open up more. He enjoyed talking about you when I asked him how you were doing. Your father was a good mentor and friend. God Bless
