I spoke to Neil a few days before his passing. Neil and I talked about the status of my "wish" list that he so dutifully kept at his desk. The Masters talk which started our acquaintance more than 20 years ago grew into a truly great friendship. On our last talk, I promised Neil a return call with an update on the Masters business as soon as I had a chance to check my inventory. Just as I got the information together, word came that Neil had passed. I am truly stunned and sad. Neil's shop was always first stop when we got to Augusta. Such a lovely man with a great sense of humanity and fun.

Stephanie, I was so saddened to learn of Neil's death. I saw him frequently at our Publix Nat. Hills store buying his fresh fruit and he always brightened my day. My deepest sympathy to you and family. Praying for peace, comfort and beautiful memories.

Neil was one of the original good guys - laid back, always classy, friendly and patient. Our days long ago at Hickman Arms were enhanced by Neil and Stephanie. I also enjoyed just dropping by his store as I walked Broad St. Condolences to Stephanie and the entire Ghingold family. RIP, Neil.

Neil and I grew up together and have fond memories of him.
I moved away from Augusta 20 years ago and rarely saw him but I will always cherish those memories.
I am now back in Augusta and regret that I will not be able to renew our friendship.
