Saw an article in the Chronicle this morning about tearing down the old bar-b-que restaurant down the street from the courthouse and it reminded me about Judge Edmonds, so I decided to look him up on the internet. Sorry to hear of his passing. I did not know Judge Edmonds personally, nor do I know any of his family, to my knowledge. I did, however, serve on a jury in his court once several years ago, and he made such an impression upon me that I felt I should add my condolences. Although I had but one short encounter with Judge Edmonds, I was greatly impressed by the way he conducted his court, treating everyone with respect, his sincerity to the task at hand, his fairness to everyone, and even his humor in trying to bring a positive outlook to even the worst situations. After the trial I was part of, which by the way was the first I ever sat on, I told my wife that if I ever had to be in court, regardless of which side of the rail I sat, I would hope it would be Judge Edmond's court. From all I've read, it appears North Augusta has lost a great judge, citizen and family member. I hope my comments bring further comfort to his family. My condolences to all.

I just finished signing my Uncle's (an Augusta native) guest book when I came across this obituary. The description of Mr. Edmonds rang familiar to my relative.

I know how hard it is to lose someone like this. My family and I are missing my Uncle so much! So, I pass on our method of coping...entrusting your grief, sadness and feeling of hopelessness to our Heavenly Father. He truly is the God of all comfort. He understands how we feel when we lose a loved one and he will place a shield to your heart to assist you during this difficult time.
