I first met Ruth in my early years...5 years old as I remember. We lived in a mining camp in Northern Luzon that was 1/2 hour away. My mother was a writer for the local Baguio newspaper and she was a good friend of Ruth's. They both shared the same first name. I remember spending days at their home and having lunch and playing with all her children. I went to school with her kids at Brent School, Baguio, and I have many precious memories there. She was a very special person...one that I looked up to a lot! In fact, I became a nurse...she had an impact on my life.
