I will miss him. He was a very knowledgeable person in many subjects. I enjoyed talking to him on the phone. I am sure he is evaluating antiques in heaven.

My Deepest Sympathy. Love, Mary Welborn Pierce
July 27, 2016
I cannot tell you, John Michael and Mary Louise, how shocked and saddened I was when I was called about Wycke's death. My relationship was so special with him and oh what precious memories we made during the many years that I have been associated with the Ivey family. In addition to having watched Wycke perform A Midsummer's Night's Dream in junior high-he was the star as he floated in wearing his robe of white and playing his role so well-I fondly remember the Military Balls when he was my escort. I made many day trips with him as we scouted out antiques. There was never a dull day around him. He and my late mother shared so many pieces of pie together. He would always come by unexpectedly and when he came to the house mother would start baking a pie for him. He sat there patiently reading the newspaper while the pie cooked. Wycke might be gone but he is not forgotten. You all are in my prayers.

To Mary, John and Catherine. I am so sorry for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting Wyke but I heard so much about him and felt that I would immediately like him if meeting. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. God bless you.

Mary Louise & John Michael....I was so saddened to learn of Wyke's passing. I have known him for many years and he was one of a kind. Such a die-hard Southern gentleman and so smart, funny and kind. He could give you advice on just about any subject and was abarrel of laughs. He was a dear friend to me for many years and he loved for a bunch of us to have "gatherings" and have a meal and just "chew the fat". He will indeed be missed by many. To know Wyke was to love him. Cherish your precious memories and may God bless both of you and your families.

For Mary Louise and John Michael, I was very sorry to hear of Wyke's passing. Take comfort that he is now with Aunt Lill and Uncle WC as well as Catherine. God Bless.

My first memories of Wyke go all the way back to the seventh grade at Monte Sano School when he gave me a box of chocolate covered cherries. He truly was a unique and extraordinary person and one whose memory will always makes me smile.

The world has lost a gentleman!! I have fond memories of many "gatherings" where friends shared a meal and conversation and much laughter. Wyke was the first to compliment a meal whether it was eye of the round roast or a simple tuna noodle casserole. He could speak on any subject and his laughter was infectious. I will miss this true Southern gentleman....and his memory will be a constant presence in my heart. I pray comfort for Mary Louise and John Michael and I share in your loss. Be grateful for the memories of Wyke that you share as I will!

To Wyke's brother John Michael, and to his sister, Mary Louise and family, I extend my most sincere condolences for your loss. I shall always remember Wyke, as a wonderful friend. An eccentric, a scholar, a man of great generosity! He will forever be remembered for his charm and humor. I learned a lot from Wyke. He was always willing to help me find the answers to questions regarding all aspects of life. I will cherish all of the good times we shared with the Rat Patrol, Hooper, the Piggys, Nick, Monte, Goldstein, Don, Jacque, and all of the colorful people we associated with. He will be missed! Until we meet again my friend! I bid you rest.

I went to high school with Wyke. Later, he helped me evaluate my mother's estate when she passed away. His knowledge and expertise were such a gift. As the obituary said, his penmanship and way with words were extraordinary. May God bless all of the family. We have lost a unique and talented man.
