George Blatner Obituary

George J. Blatner, 91 of Aurora passed away at his home on Sunday February 1, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born March 26, 1923 in Topeka, Kansas. George served in the Army Air Force during WWII from 1943 until 1945. He was a tailor and clothing salesman for many years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Church. George loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and he will be deeply missed by those who loved him. Survivors include three children Cynthia (Loren) Leiseberg, Thomas (Kathy) Blatner and Kenneth (Connie) Blatner; six grandchildren, Meghan Leiseberg, Lisa (Jamie) Watson, Jodi Blatner, Andrew Blatner, Adam Blatner and Aaron Blatner; two great granddaughters McKenna Watson and Kaitlyn Watson; one sister Mary Oberman; two sisters-in-law Lucille Blatner and Lenore Blatner; two brothers-in-law Dale (Pat) Conrad and Bob (Jan ) Conrad and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Blatner in 2012; his parents Philip and Susanna (Hoffman) Blatner; six brothers Albert (Catherine), Clement, John (Mary), Joseph (Abbie) Leo and Paul Blatner; one sister Susana (Pete) Franzen; one brother-in-law Art Oberman and his parents-in-law Agnes and Paul Conrad. George will lie in state at St. Joseph Church, 722 High Street, Aurora, IL. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 12:30 pm until the funeral hour at 1:30 pm where a funeral mass will be offered by Fr. Jerome Leake followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either Presence Hospice (847) 622-3467; or to St. Joseph Church. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Presence Hospice, Presence Hospital Third Floor Nurses, Fr. Jerome Leake for his spiritual guidance and friendship, Gary Seidelman for his Sunday visits and to his caregivers, Amy and Ann. Arrangements were handled by THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N.
