Herm was a good person who believed in teaching by example. He was hard-working, well-organized, and, when necessary, made difficult decisions and took responsibility for them. He was always eager to guide those learning engineering and to help others with whom he worked. At lunchtime during the week, he could predictably be found walking the Fermilab ring. Work at the food pantry was clearly important to him before and after retirement. He set a good example for us all to follow and will be sorely missed.

May the warm memories of your father bring you peace. Your family is in our prayers.

May his Soul Rest in Peace. I was a boyhood friend of Herman (Sonny as we called him until one day he said, "I AM HERMAN" don't call me sonny). We played baseball and football on the street in front of his home. It was a side-street with not too much traffic. I also remember that he was one of the first one to have TV (early 50's), and we would come over and watch. I also remember that he was part of the 3-Musketeers. Actually there were four, Aramis, D'Artagnan, Porthos, and Athos and there were four of us that hung around together...Herman, Tony, Joe, and Me (Jerry), I was Porthos and/or "Buzz"

I would just like to add my condolence to the family and will keep Herman in my prayers

My sincerest condolences to the whole Stredde family: I will always have fond memories of being part of your family so many years ago. May your dad rest in peace and your broken hearts heal.
