I was lucky enough to be friends with Dr Dearens son as a young man, and Dr and Mrs Dearen were like a second set of parents to me. I am truly saddened by his passing but consider myself blessed to have known him and the positive impact he had on my life.

I so enjoyed working with Danny at Parker H.S. in the 1960s and often have wondered about him, his family and career. How good it would have been had we been able to remain in contact through these many ensuing years. It is rewarding to read here of his many accomplishments and successes, and to be reminded of his many fine attributes.

What a delight when Gail brought Dan into our lives. He loved life, was intellectually engaging, had a great sense of humor, and loved Gail and his family deeply. We only wished that we had more time with him.

We really enjoyed getting to know Dan. He was such a wonderful guy. We enjoyed the times he played golf with us. The last time he couldn't play, but wanted to ride along with us while we played. He truly loved the game and the association with friends while playing. We will miss him.
