I was blessed to be Mrs. Fiedler's student at Saguaro High School in the mid seventies. She was extraordinarily kind and always encouraged all her newspaper staffers to do innovative, excellent work. Thanks to Mrs. Fiedler, I studied journalism in college. Mrs. Fiedler had a special gift to motivate and inspire young people. Two of my daughters are teachers; I hope that like Mrs. Fiedler, they will help many students achieve their dreams.

Mrs. Fiedler was my first grade teacher. That was her last year teaching in Superior as she was pregnant with their first child. Every day, after lunch, she would let us put our heads on our desks for a while and she would play the accordion. She kept track of me and started calling me to babysit for Mitzi, Heidi and Keith just before I started high school. I remember her with very fond memories. My condolences to the family, especially Mitzi, Heidi and Keith.

I knew Gerri Fielder as a young mother. Mr. Fiedler was my 6th-grade teacher. and they were our neighbors. I lived across the back lot behind their house on the next street over in Superior and was their baby sitter when the children were very small. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I send my condolences and prayers to the children and their families.

As one of the Two students who took Mrs. Fiedler to that RUSH concert I have always remembered this fine lady as one of the best of the great teachers at Coronado High. She knew how to get you motivated to find your way and seek out the best path to get there. Her end of the year gift from our class was unique as well and showed her our sense of humor and our love for her. The love she showed of her students and her craft for teaching us left us with fond memories of her lasting our lifetimes. I'm proud to have known Mrs. Fiedler and I know mine is one of many more lives which were bettered from knowing her. Peace, love and prayers for her students and family.
