My deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. McCracken. We don't know each other, but my father (deceased, 1991) Bill Nichols (48) spoke of Floyd when he reminisced about his fraternity days at Sigma Nu. My dad explained that Floyd was one of his pals he loved being with while at the UW. My mother Joan (Salter) Nichols went to Queen Ann and knew Floyd to. Since I joined Gamma Chi, Sigma Nu as well, dad and I always talked about our good old days at the fraternity. Floyd's name was always coming up, and I have several pictures from that era. My email address is gwnic@donobi.net if you would like for me to search for mementos of our parents college days.

When Floyd moved to Ketchum I went to his office to find we were related--he was my father's cousin, so my cousin, once removed. We decided Uncle and Niece was easier. Over the years we have lunched and visited, he had no idea there were nearly a dozen family members (my mother and 3 of my 7 siblings, my 4 children, nephews and niece) down the road in Hailey!
The last several years we've only seen each other at the Sun Valley Jazz Festival, but it has been a part of the festival that I looked forward to, and will miss, the most. This past fall we had lunch, he talked with my husband; last year he got to meet my infant grandson, Devon.
I always tell people that Uncle Floyd looked exactly like my father, if he had smiled more. It was such a joy to know him. My heart and prayers go out to his family. I will miss him greatly.

God rest his beautiful soul. Floyd was a prodigious man. His heart, his smile and his love will be missed.
