I was blessed to have known Bonita since the late 1990s and worked with her at several different law firms. First, what a great employee. Second, she was always fun. I always enjoyed talking to her about anything. Damn was she funny and loved playing jokes on people.
I was also fortunate to meet Bonita's children. She was proud of those kids.
I have either supervised or employed hundreds of people over the years. Bonita was the only employee over these many years that asked for extra work, advance against pay, or any way to contribute to make extra money---not for her vacation, not for something she wanted, not because she had fallen behind on her bills----it was for something her children needed, their tuition or something for the children that could not wait. I was always there for Bonita, as Bonita was always there for me. She will be missed.
