We (George and Sharon Hara) met newly weds, Kelly and Michelle Kinneard in Vancouver 1st ward building in 1976. We became fast friends, visiting each other all the time--eating, endlessly playing charades, etc. Then our families both moved to Kamloops later where our friendship continued. Then later, the Kinneards started on their movings--to Prince George, to Ontario, to Vancouver Island, then back to Ontario, then to another place. We lost track of them. Had emailing existed them, we would have been able to keep up our friendship. In March 2006, my wife and I were returning from completing a mission for the Church and were passing back Medicine Hat. We were told that the Kinneards lived there. We dropped in on them and took them out to supper at a Chinese restaurant. That was our last time.
So sad to hear about the tragic accident a couple of days ago. Wished we had known earlier.
My heart and prayers go out to you and your family.
You all will see him again in Heaven.
I have heard this story throughout the year and am humbled to learn more of your husband, Doug, and who he was as a man, a husband, a father and friend. I too lost my father recently to melanoma cancer. Losing a parent is never easy no matter what age you are. But you are not alone and the best thing is you will see him again. Stay strong for him.
What a beautiful legacy...and what a truly classy family you are.
I am so sorry for you and your children. May God bless you and hold you tightly in His hands.
Wow!!! I am so sorry for your loss on that August day in 2008 {i hope I am recalling that date correctly}. Your husband seems like he was such an amazing man. I hope this holiday season you can take joy in the memories you and your children had with him. I am going to say a prayer for your precious family.
God Bless you and your children.
I pray that you will feel peace and hope during this season when we celebrate Christ's birth. Thank you (and Doug) for your examples!
What a beautiful man and father. I am sorry for your loss and wish you faith, strength, community and much love.
I believe in Christ, He is God's son and isn't it the most blessed thing to have knowledge of the plan of salvation and why we are here and who we are and after earth life. I know God is giving you and your family strength to carry on and to cope and to live life to the fullest. One day this will be but a moment as you reunite with your beloved husband, your beloved father ... this is my prayer and wish for you.
Everything I've read about Doug shows what a fine man he was. I'm so sorry he died at such a young age. Our faith in Christ sustains us. I follow Stephanie and Courtney's blog but I'll never forget about your husband, too.
