Jack, when we met in October 1983 at a Single Adult Conference, we had an instant attraction. You and Gary Tippetts were roommates, and a few weeks later when I moved into your ward, you and Gary became my big brothers and protectors. You did your best to steer me away from the jerks. Most of the time you were successful. A few months later when my ex-husband remarried, you gave me wise counsel. I will never forget the things that you told me that day. Thank you.

We were part of a little group that did everything together. If there were reasons to celebrate, we all did it together. We carpooled to dances and single's conferences. We made lifelong friendships. I cherish those memories! And then one of those pretty ladies in our little group caught your eye. You properly courted Helen and married her. But then after a short time, the two of you ran off to AZ. I was so sad. At the same time, I was happy that you had someone who made you light up whenever she walked into the room.

I know that I will see you again in a few short years, and that our friendship will continue on forever. I will miss you until that day, but I rejoice knowing that you are no longer suffering and that you are busy doing missionary work on the other side of the veil.

God be with you 'til we meet again my sweet, sweet friend. I love you!!

Love,

Cathi
