To L/Cpl. Michael Williams family, I am so sorry for your loss. But be assured that your son was a hero to his brothers in arms; as a 60 mm forward observer I can assure you that he save many lives whenever they went out and made contact with their foes. F.O.s many times have to expose themselves during the heat of battle in order to get the 60 mm rounds on target; this takes guts to do. Like you, his brother Marines (past & present) will never forget him and they will always honor him. I know this because I severed with G Co., 2nd Bn., 7th Mar. Reg., 1st Mar. Div. in 1969 & I lost my squad leader in an ambush in Viet Nam. There is not a day that I don't remember him.

I will pray for L/Cpl. Williams & his family.

Remember Michael didn't die, he just went to heaven to guard its' streets.

Thank you Michael for defending my Freedoms. It is because of great American patriots such as you that Americans continue to board airplanes with confidence and the people of this city can live without fear.

You will always be remembered with love and great pride by the grateful nation you served to protect.

Rest in peace.

It is the 6th anniversary of March, 23, 2003--AN NASIRIYAH.

My son was a Navy Medic and served with the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade out of Camp Lejeune, NC in 2003. He was there, on that fateful day...

ALWAYS IN MY HEART, THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS! NEVER FORGOTTEN!
